he said he wasn't able to preorder meta knight from amazon.fr. Your response said nothing about meta knight or shulk not being able to be preordered from amazon.fr all you said was it was probably out of stock. If you are trying to correct misinformation then you should say the right things.

 
So....getting back to hunting down Amiibo, Reddit users are posting about how they got MTV earlier today from Amazon for $12.XX, yet my notifications never went off.  They are running their own scripts they built (nerds!  yeah I'm jealous..) but did anyone else at least have their notification go off?

which notifications? I think nowinstock is like 2-5 min delayed so it won't do an alert if it sells out before then. If you have page monitor you can get it much faster

How is Fox un-rare...? He disappeared everywhere and then suddenly re-appeared. Is it just because he was never discontinued and instead, just some stock issue?  

Kinda sucks, I drove way out to nowhere to pick up Fox and then drove the opposite way to another nowhere to get Diddy and neither ended up being hard to find.

Not since I picked up my Little Mac from the in-store pre-order back in the middle of December. Since then, for over a month now I've never seen Little Mac from the usual places like GameStop, Target, Walmart, BestBuy and ToysRus. Little Mac has joined the unicorn status.

Lol too much time on your hands man. Do people think this wave is suddenly going to sell out of presales like the MM N3DS or MM Collectors edition? I dont get it...wave 2 and wave 3 preorders were up for quite a while, wave 3 was up over a month before it sold out.

not true. Wave 3 was sold out before wave 2 released and they weren't up for that long. By the time people realized amiibos were rare wave 3 was already sold out. I don't think the rare wave 4 amiibos will last more than a day, if that.

 
well fuck. I got an email from bestbuy on Dec 20th that my little mac was delayed until January 19th. I just went to check my order status and now it says my little mac was delivered to me on Dec 12th in the same box with my other wave 2 amiibos which it definitely was not. Why would they send me an email on Dec 20th if it was already delivered on Dec 12th. Now i'm definitely not getting my little mac and who knows if bestbuy will even refund me. Going to have to spend the rest of the day talking to customer service. Bestbuy customer service is horrible, not looking forward to this.

I preordered Ike from GameStop.com on December 2nd. Then I preordered the rest there on December 27th. Pretty sure most were still available at Best Buy then. A month is pretty accurate.

Lol i preordered wave 3 on december 6th and they were still up last week or the week before on gamestop, so sorry but yes its true. It was not sold out before wave 2 released...i preordered 2 more well after wave 2 released.

Lol after reading it more, nothing about your post is true in any form...wow. But if more people believe posts like that, maybe wave 4 will only last an hour.

This, gamestop took preorders on all wave 3 up until this month sometime, I wanna say around the 10th is when they sold out.

I think it depends on location, Target and BB will be sold out in the hour for sure, Walmart will probably be the last major US retailer to have preorders, and Gamestop will probably be up for about a week or longer ......people are hungry for Wave 4 (rare or not) BUT I could be wrong since I think a lot of places or actually starting to have limits on orders, Hopefully!!!

 
Past experience aside, I'm sure Wave 4 is going to sell out quicker than 3, unless allotments are increased, since people aren't going to wait a month to preorder.  But not likely in a day (other than Target) (other than Ness).

Lol Best Buy had wave 3 preorders for weeks, including the exclusive meta knight, why would wave 4 last an hour all of a sudden?

 
I agree, wave 4 will sell out fast. But not shorter than a week.
Wave 3 preorders were available in one form or another for a month before complete sell out.

People are amiibo crazy now and with GCU, BB has the best price, it will most likely be the first place to pre order, you don;t remember that weird site crash after the Nintendo Direct

Are you serious? Do you forget they announced a Majoras Mask N3DS? I dont think the website crash was due to an Amiibo craze lol. The Amiibo craze was going on starting December 6th when figures were pretty much discontinued yet they still lasted until January 10th on gamestop.com (looked it up in this thread). BB sold out maybe two or three weeks before that but I dont see these selling out as fast as MM N3DS.

just got off the phone with bestbuy. They told me even though the tracking says delivered that doesn't mean it was delivered because they split up my order into 2 packages with the same tracking number even though they are 1 month apart and I should get it tomorrow. Wow bestbuy customer service is so smart :dunce:

gamestop was the only one left for a long time, every other store had sold out

I preordered from bestbuy on Dec 17th and they were sold out of most of the rare ones, they only had bowser, shiek and toon link left. Gamestop was the only store with their preorders open for that long. Bestbuy was less than 2 weeks as well as every other store. Like I said, these were sold out before wave 2 was fully released so the rare factor was still new. Wave 4 rare amiibos won't last for more than a day, guaranteed, at the very least because of scalpers using multiple accounts.

IMO, i think ness will be the rarest one out of that wave.

No I didn't I'm using that point to show that people love Nintendo products and since the amiibo craze people buy up any product they produce quickly for resell or just for the love of the product. I don't see them selling out quickly either but it really depends on the retailer plus you keep using wave 2 and 3 as examples when in that time period scalpers were small, collectors were only grabbing the ones they like and people did really care. Wave 4 is going to be different but we will see

Im starting to think preorders will open tomorrow I think Nintendo knows its a holiday so everyone has a chance to preorder before they sell out thats my guess

It has nothing to do with a quick sell out. Here is when I preordered Waves 1-3:

Wave 1: September 29th

Wave 2: October 11th

Wave 3: November 19th

Do you know how much in the wild hunting I had do for any amiibos? None.

That's peace of mind knowing that they're all called for, since I am going for a perpetual full set of these. Set it and forget it. I'll gladly chase after preorder links now, in lieu of having to chase down individual figures at multiple retailers, and B&M retailers at that, later on.

And, to be honest, I thought this hunt for preorders would last a day or two, instead of almost week that it is. Now I'm pot committed until at least Amazon or Gamestop comes up.

And lol, I have no time. I have a newborn and a toddler.

For me, I don't want all of them. I just want all the Fire Emblem ones. The Kirby ones and Rosalina (Oh, and Toad for Treasure Trackers) would be nice to have, too, but the Fire Emblem ones are the must. That was my goal before the Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. amiibo connection was announced, and that announcement has redoubled my earnestness in that regard. Hopefully with Nintendo's willingingness to re-release Marth for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., the same would apply to Ike, if I can't find that one, either.
