FWIW, I'm obsessive-compulsive, and the quality is very important to me, too. I always feel like people don't get it when I like to pick through paint jobs, but I do it, anyway. Anyway, the point is, there are others like you. Don't feel bad. :)

 
My friend came back after he found out that his preorder was sold. They told him if they get more theyll try to hold it for him. TRU does not know how to handle preorders

Because they do have to outsource these to manufacture. Don't get me wrong, they are underproducing too many of these but they definitely can't mass produce them to a ridiculous degree either.

Which store was this one at? I went to the Blossom Hill one and everybody in line was able to get one. Based on all of the stories of 5 - 8 extras, surprisingly, there were about 15 extras here so all 15 people waiting in line at the store's opening were able to get one. The last dude in my line freaked out because it looked like the supervisor on duty gave away the last Lucario for the 14th person in line. She double checked and found the last one behind the register and said "that's it we're sold out now!"

I got there at 810ish, everybody left 830ish when an employee stepped outside and said they were all for preorders.

Was that you with your buddy, I can't remember anyone else with a beanie.

Finally something on the online preorders that sounds reasonably true (and not some clueless rep on the phone making up things). This at least makes some sense.

because they are treating these like limited edition items. The fact that they are scarce drives up demand by a lot. If these were really common i'm sure a lot of people wouldn't be interested.

 
I don't know what it is, but it seemed like every single Lucario at my TRU in Kendall, FL had some sort of defect. There were like 30 of these and all were for pre-order and they either had scuffs and dents on the packaging, slight damage to the box or some bad paint jobs. I got a couple of the best ones, but I will feel bad for the person who picks theirs up last.

Target has been so dreadful with this that I plan on limiting the amount of time I go there in the future. I am extremely big on customer service and this has been a horrible job by them. The morning she went up for pre-order online, I was outside working. I got back inside and it was over with.

The Target by my house is next to a 24 hour Wal Mart and behind a GameStop, so I won't be missing much.

I didn't shop at Best Buy for over five years due to bad service. It wasn't until Circuit City went out of business that I ventured back into Best Buy. I will not have Comcast for a cable provider due to bad customer service.
 
what do you guys look for when trying to find bad paint jobs and defects? They all look the same to me. Maybe ignorance is bliss I might start hating all my amiibo collection if I look at them under a magnifying glass

I've bought WFT and Meta Knight through 3rd party Amazon sellers and they have been well packaged and fast delivery. Yeah price is rough but better than eBay prices.
 
For an exclusive  and how alot of people seemed to miss out, lucario isnt worth that much on ebay.  Alot of them are selling in the 40 range. So I don't understand the camping out at 4am for it lol.

Exactly. Just because someone put one up for $80, doesn't mean it's going to sell.

Outside of the Big 3 from Wave 1, I don't see the flipping aspect of these. I haven't followed the prices that closely, but it seems like an awful lot of work to flip a handful of figures for $20 - $30 profit each, but that's just me.

They may go up in value. The big three didn't jump up in value over night, it crept up there

Make sure not to just click add to cart, check all of the items that are shipped by amazon and you will save at least $1-2. Why they put the $29 one as the main one I am not sure.

the demand has been created.....at some point a business needs to fill a demand to make the most $$$ it can....I don't see why they wouldn't want to sell as much as they could at this point

 
Arrived  at TRU at about 9:50 and saw two guys in line at the door.  Got in line behind them and another dude walks up and instead of getting in line behind me he stands over by the other side of the door.  The two guys in front of me didn't say anything so I let it go.  The doors open and this dude runs to the display case while me and the two guys in front of me go to the register and ask about Lucario. Clerk says that they only have three that are  not  pre-order.  We get the Lucarios and the dude who cut in front of us comes back with a Pit.  He then asked the clerk about Lucario and is told that there are no more for sale.  The dude then looks at me and asked me if I wanted to trade my Lucario for the Pit.  I smiled at him and told him no even though Pit is one of the ones I don't have.  I then asked the clerk if they have any more amiibos in the back and he comes out with a Captain Falcon and two Bowsers. I get the Falcon but left the Bowsers for someone else since I got one of those last week. So I guess I lucked up today and added two of the amiibos  I needed for my collection.

Amazon.de you'll get them for about $15 USD after the VAT is removed. Only problem is that the shipping is killer, especially for only one figure. You're looking at like $16 shipping, which is more than the figure so try to place an order for multiple figures at once.

 
Got Rosalina, Bowser, Toon Link and Sheik in the mail from Target, plus my Lucario from TRU today. Up to date on amiibos aside from Shulk since I couldn't make it to the Nintendo World Store. Woop.

zeb06: This is why I stalk this thread or whatever you were getting on me and others about. All preorders and all nice and easy. I'll do the obsessive work up front, instead of having to fight later and potentially spend time and money too.

Yea best way is to order more at once. I ordered 4 and shipping was the same price (even with lucario shipping separately from the other 3 i got)
 
Got lucky today picked my 2 pre ordered 2 lucario, 1 bowser, and Toon link $44 plus taxes. someone had pit on hold but never show up, the guy end up give it to me. I called him & asked him looking for pit almost everyday over 3 weeks. I swapping donkey kong for pit bought last week $10.×× :) only I need now is rosilina and metal knight :) sheik is showing up my door today maybe tomorrow.
 
Sheik is finally starting to ship from Best Buy pre-orders.

It's kind of annoying how the pre-orders ship later than the stores because I'm trying to hold myself back from going on the hunt in stores!
