When an item is sold out at every online store it is rare. There is noway fake demand can make online stores sell out.
 
I said "fuck it" and pre ordered Mega Man and Sonic at Gamestop for instore pick up. The CAG inside me is sad since I wanted to use my GCU discount, but looks like Best Buy preorders are OOS.

 
Finally gave up and bought Marth off eBay. =_= Was too afraid of him eventually going out of my price range, and the Fire Emblem fan inside me would hate myself for waiting. Auugh this stupid hobby.

 
I think the only reason alot of people are buying these are for the scalping margins. There is not a single loose amiibo to be found on ebay, craigslist, etc. People only got them to immediately start turning out profit on them

I honestly think its a mix, there's people like me that'll go after the rare ones to sell after the fact but how many people on this thread have ordered/pre-ordered way more than they'll ever need. You think that guy who pre-ordered 3 Rosalina's isn't going to eventually sell 1-2 of them if they go up in price? What about the people on this thread that somehow have 4 captain falcons ordered from various places?

This. As soon as I got my Pit from Gamestop I cancelled the one I had on pre-order at Toys R Us. As long as I get just one from my various pre-orders, I'm good. I just don't trust any of them to not cancel my order before it ships and leave me hanging.

Well after Santa came and went I ended up with all the current Amiibos except Pikachu and Pit. Not a bad morning if you ask me. Merry Christmas to all that celebrate. Good day to those who don't.

Yes, my son who is 19 told me I could sell his Marth on eBay, but I told him I bought it for him to play with since Marth is his guy and we ripped open the packaging. Good thing I pre-ordered and didn't pay eBay inflated prices...

 
My brother gave me the last Wave 1 figures that I didn't have for Christmas (Mario, Pikachu, Donkey Kong). Just waiting on my preorders of CF and Pit and I'll have a full set of Wave 1 and 2!

Gamestop or Walmart to pre-order the last amiibos for wave 3?

idk why but Gamestop is charging for shipping and handling for each amiibo.
