12 total. I want a mint Pit and with the way these things are being distributed I didn't know if any would even ship. Then I got an order in on Christmas day from Gamestop and yesterday it shipped. Then tried to cancel all the other orders but can't cancel from Best Buy, Deep Discount, or Walmart. Regretting that Deep Discount order right about now because I assume I'll have issues with them but oh well.

In Japan it's super easy to find display cases for miniatures. Unfortunately they're not so common in North America, but you can usually order them at a premium fee.

Try searching "acrylic case" or "miniatures display case" on Amazon or eBay.

I just stopped by there, the checkout counter has two rows of little macs and pits, guess they got them in last night. No falcons though

Gamestop stickers get progressively harder to remove as the stickers age. Since the amiibo price sticker was just applied, it should come off very easily and with no damage. Wait 2 months, different story.

Sounds right ... they usually keep the harder to get amiibos behind the counter instead of on the wall. Altho Mac was plentiful in stock and on the wall when I was there last, which was the 20th.

Definitely this. I bought a wii fit trainer for my sister but I kept the tag on there until Christmas Eve. When I pulled I tried slowly pulling it off, a some of the box came off with it. Luckily my sister was so shocked I got one that she didn't mind.
 
Woo-hoo, my Pit and Captain Falcon are preparing to ship from BestBuy.com. Once those arrive, I'll have all of wave 1 & 2. Pre-orders for all the upcoming figures are set too.
 
I think with more stores offering them the last few days (esp Gamestop), it was just a shock to all of us they were being made available. So in a sense, we are now feeling they are in stock everywhere and can be gotten.

Sorry to say, but thats most definitely a false truth. No one has them online as of now, and certainly not in stores. Still very high on Ebay ($39+ at least) ...

We just got a bit thrown off because awhole bunch came outta nowhere in the last couple days. But now dried up again.

 
I think it's just coming in waves. It's strange that pit still sells for more than captain falcon but falcons arguably the harder to find now
 
Agree. Different assortments being released with each wave, as most toy companies do. Assortment 1 may have 3 Falcons and 1 Pit, then assortment 2 has 1 Falcon etc. Once the wave is over and the company moves on to the next, demand for a certain character will dictate which has the most value.

I don't think that's true. Falcon has been able to be ordered on Gamestop.com, and places seemed to have gotten more stock of him then Pit.

I think Pit is the rarer of the 2.
 
I preordered Pit from Amazon on October 30th and still have yet to hear anything about it shipping. Anyone know why there is a delay?

 
For all we know, Nintendo produced the same quantity for both Pit and Captain Falcon. It might come down to distribution and allocation between regions, retailers, etc. Best Buy and Toys"R"us have not released either of them in North America. So the jury is still out other than limited and controlled release from various outlets such as Target, GameStop, et al.

Amazon shipped my Cap'n and GS shipped my Pit and Li'l Mac. All of this adds up to me cancelling my Best Buy pre-orders for wave 3 and moving them to GS. Best Buy seems really incompetent in all of this.

 
My wife bought me a Villager on Amazon. Its the Japanese version, but whatever, I'm happy.

I feel silly for spending almost an entire day running around for Falcon when he was first seen in the wild, as he seems to be regularly available at multiple retailers now. Seems like he's going to be one of the easier ones to get - or at least for now.

If it was a reserve or preorder, they have to hold it for two weeks. After two weeks they are able to sell them but otherwise they could get fired for it.
