I've placed three different preorders for store pickup at Gamestop. I selected different stores, but whenever I click the submit order button the confirmation page always shows to pick up at my default GS store.

Very annoying.

Does TRU offer free shipping when you spend over a certain amount? I'm thinking I may snatch up all of the commons I still need while they are BOGO 40% off.

For ToysRUs just order what you want, then return to store. If you order over $49 you get free shipping so you don't actually lose anything at all in this transaction

BUT do too many returns and you will get banned for returning at TRU, Best Buy, and many other stores.

Well I doubt one return is gonna cause suspicion, though the clerk may strangle you for dumping more Peach Amiibos at them
see the post above all stores are tied into the same system so if you return one system to gamestop and one to target and 1 to best buy and 1 to toys r us it would count as 4 returns in a short period and alot of people already done some returns to stores after the holiday season.

I needed 4 amiibos to finish the wave 1 commons. It didnt come out to enough so im gonna add an extra Fox and a Link. The Link will be opened and used for Hyrule warriors and the extra Fox is trade fodder for later. Problem solved.

I have returned so many items over the years that I wouldn't be able to return anything anymore. I return a lot without the receipt and just get store credit. They scan my driver's license every time. From what Best Buy has told me in the past it is a certain amount of returns in a small window that triggers it with them.

Yep, Holiday time especially is taken into account. People return just as much as they buy this time of year, if not more. You're not going to be banned for doing returns unless you're trying to.

Yes, but one thing to keep in mind, many stores did not use the connected system that have recently started doing so. Toys R' Us, as I understand, just started using it right before the holidays - not sure who else. Just because it hasn't occurred before doesn't mean you should not be wary of it and end up with stuff you don't want and cannot return.

I fail to see how a company that has a return policy in print can refuse a return with a receipt. As long as you have a receipt, I don't see a problem.

a lot of stores do if enough returns are in the system I have seen on best buy forum where people with just a couple returns in a short period been banned from returns for 60 and 90 days periods sometime longer.

Return fraud ruins it for everyone. If you are returning things like a normal person, it shouldn't be a problem. If you are systematically doing a lot of returns in a short period of time then you risk getting banned.

Got charged by Best Buy today for my 2 Meta Knights pre-order. Anyone else have this happen? Also when is it supposed to actually be released?

and yea some people who has it ordered for in store pickup as recieved notifications that there items were ready for pickup there a big mess with that one due to best buy never updating the release date on it to the right release date so i expect lots of problems coming from that that exclusive pre-order wise.

I asked earlier but I'm trying to order a villager from amazon.de. However, I get an error saying my address is incorrect. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Frankly, after the wave 2 release date debacle, I don't think BestBuy or Nintendo knows when they'll release Meta Knight or any of the wave 3 for that matter. Most big box movers are using Feb. 1st as a placeholder, but I've seen Amazon with Feb. 28th release date on wave 3. So, will we see an improvement and have a consistent unified release date? I'm not holding my breath for that.

are you trying to order direct from Amazon or a third party seller? If it a third party seller then that your problem

Like I've said before, I'll be surprised if the store exclusive amiibos actually end up being rare (except for Shulk because rarity helps GameStop's business model). The stores are sure to order a ton to drive sales to their chain (i.e. "Come buy Amiibos from us, we have the exclusive _____ amiibo that you can only get from our store!"), which means Nintendo should be making a lot of them (or at least, I would assume they'd manufacture based on how much stores are ordering, which is why WFT, Marth, etc are rare). And since they are store exclusive, it doesn't really matter how popular the game is (to the store), just that no one else will carry that figure so they'll want a lot of them in stock.

Granted, scalpers will still descend on them, so after the first few days stock might get low. Then it will just depend on whether Nintendo actually manufactures additional runs of those figures.

This also assumes Nintendo has figured out the manufacturing woes that seem to be plaguing wave 2 (rarity of the big three aside, there has been a ton of supply for wave 1 figures).
Why do you think the exclusive amiibos will be any different than the other rare ones? Just because only 1 store is selling them doesn't mean any less people are buying them. On the Nintendo website rosalina only has 1 month of manufacture just like villager and pit. Don't expect the exclusives to be easy or you're going to have a bad time. If there is a restock it won't be for a long time, like MTV. Just because a store wants a lot of their exclusive doesn't mean Nintendo will give it to them.

What debacle happened during wave 2? If you're talking about inventory shortages, I think that's par for the course considering the amount of people now going into collecting full sets and multiples of stuff that normally wouldn't have and add resellers on top of that. Wave 3's been the debacle so far but that might be because of the attention pre-orders have gotten but honestly, with the exception of Lucario/Rosalina, everyone else has been smooth so far.

Apparently, you haven't been paying attention because you are too busy cleaning out the Nintendo World Store. Zing!

Question, am I awful for buying multiple falcon pit and little macs to scalp to buy the big three?

I honestly feel bad for doing it

My opinion it depends how many. If you have 2-3 extra not a big deal, but if you're like gnoh who goes to the Nintendo store everyday and has over 40 pits to resell then that is awful.

The debacle was everyone having their own release date for wave 2 figures.

Anyway, my toys r us cancelled pit order was paid in full by PayPal and discount code applied. It is becoming clear that since they don't have enough pits to fulfill preorders, those that paid full price and big shipping fee got preferential treatment. Not automatically shipped but preferential nonetheless. I understand that, don't accept it, but do understand that. Toys r us however, should understand that that discount code was given as an apology for the initial glitchedcancellation. It shows how apologetic they really were but not shipping in order of original preorder date and rather who paid the most per item. I will not preorder anything else from toys r us anymore as a result. Especially since in store chat lied to me on many counts about all this

Ah, I didn't realize street date was broken but that sucks. I think one of the reasons why Gamestop consistently gets decent stock, even if they rip people off is that they treat games as their main selling point. To TRU amiibos are a segment of a toy market that likely didn't make a drop on their revenues this holiday because they mostly stocked the most common ones, which is probably why they don't care. I will sell you a pit around $25 if you really want. It's basically what TRU charged me for the pit + shipping and taxes + shipping to you.

40 pits LOL no, not even close but yes I bought 3 of each
Sell it on ebay, Pit's going for around $30-$40 and CP is going around $30-35 right now, you might make a little more if you bundle them together. I'm the extreme exception in this thread in terms of volume bought but there's a lot of people in this thread that are buying multiple of the rarer amiibos to see if they can trade up, there's nothing wrong about it.

I agree one bazillion percent! For TRU to do this, they just lost one customer and hopefully many more. They admitted for being at fault and gave us a discount code which essentially comes to being worthless. I felt like I got duped! Never again.

Got my shipping confirmation from Amazon.de for Marth, Villager, and WFT. Will post conditions once I get them the 15th. I only wanted Villager, so will probably trade one of the other two for Meta Knight and/or Rosalina since those are the two I really care for.

No, because they will all be common in a few days and you will have to return them anyway. These are not rare. Buying them for $13 to flip them for $30 (after eBay fees paypal fees etc), you are making a couple of dollars. It's pretty sad. Just wait for the buyers of said toys to see them in retail for $13 and they will be opening a claim against you to return it. It's not worth it.

Do you have some information that Nintendo doesn't? The big 3 and Little Mac haven't been in production for months.
