But, but then Mario wont be MIB in his retail box!!!! I'll have to buy another two Mario in their retail packaging so I can use my magnifying glass to determine which box is most pristine [man do people look at you weird when you do that in store!].

OR I can by TWO copies of MP10 and a retail version and then have BOTH boxes MINT!!

That would only cost $110!

2.5mill for 1 mill Smash owners. Which is actually really horrible numbers given how many people have bought multiples (Like 8+). It seems like there's a really high demand for these but the reality is that they were really just short print that low.

I wasn't expecting multiple Amiibo waves. Definitely gonna have to reconsider trying to collect them all now...

I was hoping there'd be just 1 and then, once a figure is sold out, that's it. For popular figures, they just keep making new molds and for less popular ones, maybe release a new mold when there's a new game in that series (whether or not it features that character) or every now and then if there isn't.

average of 2.5 for each person who owns smash is really good considering how they don't really do much in game.

I knew that this was going to stay when it was announced. Nintendo cashed in at the right time between all these NFC figure games. Good enough to use in game and even better to collect. My initial thoughts were that popular figures would always remain on the market and less popular ones would be an almost first come first serve. Unfortunately that does not seem to be the case as popular figures are selling out and not coming back in and vice versa. Never mind that each character will possibly get another mold like Mario and Luigi which makes collecting that much harder. Store exclusives also never dawned on me as well. I don't think that's very fair.

I bet under 100,000 smash owners even bother with amiibos. 2.4 mil went to under 50k people who have 50+ each, either to resell or next to their bed to help them get to sleep at night.

I just wish the Amiibos weren't so useless in smash. Until I popped mine on, I thought you could play as them and customize movesets and stuff. There's already AI to fight in smash:/

if a reseller sells it to someone else it still counts as someone buying it. Yes most people who have smash probably don't have an amiibo, that's why 2.5 million is a good number.

 
Here's a good question... Since Nintendo sold so many amiibos and are going to restock Marth and has lots of time to set up wave 4....Do you guys think there will be a huge stock of wave 4??? (forget about pre-orders and scalpers, because we all know if it's Nintendo and it's new pre-orders are gone)

No, because the Mario Party wave is coming in between wave 3 and wave 4. I have no idea what Nintendo's plans are about all this though.

it will probably be similar to wave 1/2. A bunch of rare ones and then the common mario/peach/bowser. I'm still not convinced on whether the mario party ones will replace the old ones and the old ones will be discontinued, or the mario party ones will be limited and then they will bring back the old ones.

It wasn't too bad, I ended up with 2 extra villagers and an extra Marth from panic ordering them when they flashed in store stock at different Walmarts, and just sold those 3 for $100 each on eBay. Overall I came out making ~$10 and getting wave 1, 2, and 3 ordered.

yea but you could have sold your marth/villager for $100 each and then just imported them for $25 or less since you're opening it anyway.

So what's up with Fox? Is there a quick restock or something? It's also on Fry's.com for those that missed it.

Kind of regret getting 3 from BB which I only did to get free shipping and figured I could hopefully trade for one of the store exclusives. Will probably return it and post here for which BB store so someone local can try to grab it.

 
I got a recurring pre-authorization charge on my Rosalinas from Target.COM this morning so I looked and my orders are both still active and they are in fact keeping the orders active. I was one of the lucky ones that got in on these orders back in December when these pre-orders became active in the morning and lasted more than 33 milliseconds.

Fox was last figure to get a new batch, at least according to someone on reddit. It's based on some compliance certifications he found on Nintendo website.
