Self instal. Yeah I hooked up the DSL at my parents house with ease because like you said it isnt that hard.

But they seem to be getting at is that there is something wrong with the actually phone line itself. Like whoever put it in the wall messed something up.

Last time I talked to them they said it was a problem with the line outside so they had to send a tech out.

I dont acutally have a lan line phone....so I dont have any filters on it at all (they said if i wasnt going to use the line to speak on there was no point in having it on)

On the modem itself I am getting a blinking red light then a blinking green light on the DSL.

Meh....I am not pissed off yet because I have been working so much that I dont have time to do anything on the internet anyway. But next week when thing calm down I am going to be really pissed.
If the red light is blinking on the DSL modem, then it's not getting sync from the DSLAM upstream. It could be a phone line issue, yes, if they have the two pairs of phone lines screwed up, which happened to me in my current house when I moved in.

Most likely, they'll need to send a tech out and check over the line to see what the issue is. It might not get fixed until some time next week.

If they haven't set up for a tech to come out, then they need to do so ASAP.

Cool thanks.
Don't have to go to work for a couple hours yet. What to do? :whistle2:k
Go for a jog.

Hello OTT.

Caught the new series 'The Universe' (on The History Channel IIRC) and it was pretty good. First episode dealt with our Sun.

"Everything I Know About Black People I Learned From BET" would be a good name for a shitty band. :whistle2:k
Go for a jog.
Watched Bleach 127 instead.

Not going to sleep until 4AM = bad idea. But I did get all of the shadow Pogeymanz in XD. Those legendary birds are a bitch - I miss the Master Ball cheats.

I did wake up to a voicemail from my boss about my job...which I haven't actually checked yet. I should go do that. :)

^^ You didn't forget the TPS Report Cover Sheet again did you?
They didn't have enough subs for the strike so many class go pushed together it was insane. One week during the strike, the students stopped listening to the subs and had a huge paper fight/book every day. I was literally scared, I wanted to go home. Then at lunch food fights, and every gym class was dodge ball. I would go one or two days a week at most.
But then one day Benson called up Crazy Joe and things got back on track!

Seriously though I can't imagine having to deal with shit like that. Sheesh.

Watched Bleach 127 instead.
I've been too busy/lazy to get into the un-dubbed Bleach. I've just been watching the episodes on cartoon network once a week. I've got my fingers crossed that
Ichigo starts fighting with his Hollow powers soon.

Damn, the sun is brutal today. I just checked on the garden and the trees, everything looks good except for this one tree. The Roma tomatoes are growing super fast. I have a green bean that is 3-4 inches long now and several others are starting to form/grow. This rocks.
i am so desperate to sell my shit right now
You and me both, 'kang... you and me both. I dumped another load of CDs today and traded in some random accessories at GS when I picked MP8.

I've got one more load of CDs to sell and maybe a handful of DVDs. Dunno what to do about all these books.

I wish I knew a place to dump CD's... I have over 100 CD's, all CD only, that local record stores won't take because they want cases and inserts and all that shit that I dumped years ago because it was just taking up space =/

I had a not-quite-as-bad problem. I had hundreds of CDs that I put in those sleeve binders, but I held on to the inserts. Had to buy empty jewel cases in bulk and re-assemble them to sell. That kinda sucked, but the cases didn't cut into the return too badly. Maybe about $40 for the lot of them.

Unless you find a private buyer who doesn't care, you're pretty much hosed.
What was the software you were complaining about yesterday?
Just some stupid expense reporting software. I'm over it though. They had a much better faq/help section on their website.

What kind of books? Do you have a list?

Oh jeez, I could never throw away the liner notes or anything else that comes with a CD (save for the shrinkwrap and the seal). That stuff is too important to me. I feel the same way about CDs that I do about video games, in the sense that they have to be complete.

Disc based only? Or do you also have cardboard N64 and gba boxes lying around?

I just dump them on my computer and then onto some form of portable music carrier, so I could care less who some artist thanks for the CD.

To me, it went like this - Buy a CD, open it, throw the case in the closet, put CD into the binder, done.

When I went to move, I had 100 + CD case's sitting in the closet, so, well, I threw them all in the garbage. Why move them to a new location just to have them keep sitting there?

This time, I just decided to sell everything.

Moving sucks, but taking things I'll never use again just creates more hassle to move.

Who knows what I'll do with the CD's... maybe one of these record stores wants to buy them in bulk extremely cheap, because CD's don't sell for shit on Ebay.

Maybe I will put them on Craigslist, who knows.

It's just like these fucking Magic The Gathering cards... completely worthless.
nothing specific. what cha got?
John Rawls : A theory of justice
Ovid : Metapmorphosis - charles martin transl.
Borges Nonfictions
Gao Xing Jiang - Buying a fishing road for my grandfather

those are the ones i see on the floor now, i'll get a real list tonight.

If you can't get rid of books or CDs, try donating them. Some of the libraries here take donations and sell them in their own used book store as a way to make some money. There's always the Salvation Army, too, or throwing the listing up on Craigslist and seeing if anyone's interested.

I do.

No list.. Stuff I could live without includes some Calvin & Hobbes and Mutts compilations. I've got some random classics in paperback that I'll probably hang on to.

I've got some GBA boxes somewhere. I may have thrown one or two of those boxes away, but by that point, they were most likely destroyed. I do, however, still have all the instruction manuals.

Well, I still import the albums, but then I put the CD back in the case and put it on my media shelf. I like having things complete, which is why I won't pay to download music.

I haven't had to move yet, but I'll figure out someway to make them less of a hassle. There are some albums that I must have complete hard copies, like my Bad Religion albums and most of my metal albums.

Oh, and I still have all my Pokemon cards (I was never into Magic). I probably will never get rid of those, unless I miraculously get some sort of worthy amount of money for them.

Hm... either way the rest of today should be awesome.

Either my package with the Fallout Collection, Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, Battle for Middle Earth 2: Rise of the Witch King, or Heroes V: Hammers of Fate shows up, or I install Company of Heroes and grab the DirectX 10 patch and play that all day.

Either way I win!

Promonoke, I'm just above having things clutter up everywhere.. hell, I am selling all three Fallout games + manuals because I opted to just get them all on one DVD in a DVD case ;)

The less stuff around me the better.

To each his own, I suppose.

Ok, I'm serious about this: No CAG for the next three or four hours, at least. I have this paper due tomorrow, and I need to finish it. So goodbye for now OTT!

Yeah, I took three sacks of stuff to Goodwill this morning. Furniture not included, my stuff could fit in the bed of a pick-up in a couple of moving boxes easily. I'd like to get it even more paired down than that, though.

About the only thing that I couldn't move on my own is my sleeper sofa. That thing weighs a ton and there's no way I'm foolish enough to even try to do an assist on it. Ain't worth it.

man I love my grandma I haven't seen in forever. She randomly stopped by when I was feeling hungry and brought me a huge plate of carne guisada, chicken tamales, homemade mashed potatoes, and green bean caserole, YUMMMM.

I don't even throw away the seals.
I open CDs by unhinging the bottom and flipping it in order to not break the seal.

TFN, you lucky mofo.

I went to my grandma's yesterday to get the mail and she was showering so I wasn't going to wait around for her to get out, notice I'm there, ask if I'm hungry and then make me a samich.

Mario Party is fun.

Time to eat.

Oh, Touch the Dead sorta sucks. I think I'll butcher it with the Action Replay so I can have some fun with it before I send it back.

Now *that's* excessive. :)

I'm kinda bummed that the record store won't buy CD singles. I've got a bunch of UK Oasis (all through Be Here Now) and PSB singles (Very through Nightlife) that they won't even touch.

Back to the purge...

Erm, if you have them with all the cases and inserts........ I'm listening!
