We'll see if they stopped negotiations to mess with the WWE (if they haven't signed with anyone else yet, their asking price is now significantly diminshed).

myke.
...well, there seemed to be a correlation between Raw being on USA and being fun to watch. I wonder how true that holds.

welcome to hell. i trust you will enjoy your stay

Actually I gotta be honest, that wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Although, no Big Show sighting is not a good sign going into Wrestlemania. If I'm not mistaken he's expected to face "Grand Champion Yokozuna" Akebono in some sort of gimmick match at WM though.

Raw headed back to USA is a great thing. I think this is step 1 to the recovery process, since Raw has really spiraled downward since moving to SpikeTV.

Big Show was there, accepting a challenge from Akebono for a Sumo match.

Morbo's left, we just have to tempt him. How can he not watch SD if he's taking on the JBL alias?

wheres morbo. ive been too busy lately

Smackdown doesn't come on here til 8 (Pacific), a whole hour after the show has ended in the rest of the country.

I watch the show every week. I actually enjoy it. JBL's turning out to be a great champion. But Orlando Jordan... I never could stand him. It would be cool if JBL's cabinet had all the major titles heading into WrestleMania, though. Unfortunately, the Bashams, whom I actually enjoy were jobbed out on the Velocity taping.

OT, are you going to make another league?
bah smackdown is getting worse every week.
Yes it is. At least Raw is good every once in awhile.

Spike TV sent out a press release earlier today announcing they have closed negotiations with WWE regarding renewing their five-year contract.

It is believed to now be a formality that WWE Raw and the rest of the weekend cable shows, Heat, Velocity and Experience, will be moving to the USA Network in September.

"After several months of negotiations, we have decided to end our discussions about extending our relationship with WWE beyond September 2005," wrote Spike TV in a press release. "Moving forward, Spike TV will expand its investments in original programming and new acquisitions for its core audience."

This is a huge blow to the network, as Raw was, by far, its most popular program and led to it be the No. 4 rated network when it came to the coveted 18-34 and 18-49 demographics.

USA appears to be the only major cable option for Raw,as TNT, TBS and FX have all confirmed no negotiations nor interest in the show.

Yeah, its on the page before this.

USA Network possibly confirmed.

As we noted the other day here on the site, Linda and Shane McMahon were spotted at NBC Universal offices in Rockefeller Center several days ago. We have been told that a deal is done and locked with the USA network. Everything has apparently been worked out and an announcement should be expected soon.

and if you want to go way back, think Murder She Wrote :D

I think when Hogan finally body slammed the Giant, instead of Andre falling on him yet again, was a defining moment of my chilhood. At that moment I believed anything was possible.
Then I went to school, got made fun of all day, and was oppressed by the red-headded kid next to me.
What a loos.

There is also a video short on Andre the Giant in one of the Legends of Wrestling games. It tells a story where the Giant was drunk and shat all over one of his opponents one match. Hilarious!

I'm kinda glad that they might go back to USA. When they were on USA, they got away with more than SpikeTV/TNN ever let them do. Hopefully when Smackdown's contract with UPN expires, they'll put it on the channel too.

Also a note, WWE & SpikeTV will be airing a special 1 hour show live on this year's WWE Hall of Fame at 11 p.m.(EST) the night before Wrestlemania. This is mostly cause Hogan's being inducted. But with the press release, they're saying Stone Cold is also going to be there.

For the people that caught Smackdown, what do you think about who Kurt Angle's facing next week?

I think they got away with more because that was before the PTC got on their ass.

Here here! (or is it hear hear?) USA just happened to be the host when the Attitude era was in full swing. How ironic on a "cutting edge male network" (bleh.) they toned their style down.

Now if they can just get back that 'F' it would be fantastic. I can't watch old matches on TV when they blur out the WWF logo; it drives me up the fuckin' wall, and distracts me from the match. I'm an environmentalist wacko-feminazi-liberal to the fuckin' core (use any other Limbaugh-isms as nauseam to describe me), but this drove me totally batshit, and does to this day. Doesn't an environmentalist group have more important things to focus on (namely, the fuckin environment?). If they start calling themselves "WWF" again, I could deal with people like Heidenreich.

The law is only legally binding in the United Kingdom, as far as I can tell. What the fuck?

myke.
...so, they want to boost ratings by bringing back Marty Janetty? DAMN...I can just see it now..."I know...if we bring in Janetty, the ratings will skyrocket!"

I bet they thought the same thing when bringing back Viscera and Gangrel.

Ya know, it's funny but I was actually thinking how sweet it would be if they brought Jannety back, shortly before Kurt said that he was going to face Marty Jannety next week. Although, in my head the scenario worked so that Jannety showed up at WM costing Michaels the match.

I was also thinking how cool it'd be to see John Cena give Teddy Long the FU after Teddy marched out to the ring and continued to set back all African Americans in the WWE; and sure enough, he did! I popped for that, but the crowd seemed kind of dead for it. The FU on long definitely reminded me of Austin or the Rock attacking someone for really no reason other than that they felt like it, but whenever those two would do it the crowd would go nuts. In this case it just goes to show you that SD! really only has four guys that can get any good crowd responses without trying. Those four being JBL and Angle getting massive heel heat, and Eddie Guerrero and the Undertaker getting huge pops of course. Poor John Cena, and poor Big Show. Maybe things will change after Cena wins the title at WM.

I was always a big rockers fan, and even a bigger michaels fan but i think even though this would be a very cool angle... i think it would flop. Jannetty tried making a comback in the late 90's which failed miserablly. But it could be cool.

Hah, that would've been an interesting title a few years back.
"Vist beautiful Africa in a guided tour with Kamala!"

and then in the movie all he does is pace around in his mask and slap his stomach.

I'd buy it.
The reason Marty Jannety's late 90's comeback failed is because he went to WCW.
that and the new rockers gimmick was lame

Just out of curiosity i was looking through some boxes and i found some wrestling tshirts... Raven, Sabu, Austin, Michaels, Foley are the ones i could remember...

anyone interested in wanting to buy these?

I agree with you on that. That was also back when Al Snow was getting a new gimmick every week.

Depends on the size and how cheap :)

i think they are all XL, they are in perfect shape... they were either worn once at an event or never worn at all. I used to buy a new shirt everytime i went.

I'll try to take some pictures tonight when i get home from work.

Man, I've got a ton of old shirts if you're interested, including Raven (wearing right now, actually. I'll die before I sell my Raven ECW shirt). I have.. let's see, off the top of my head:

nWo wolfpack, nWo black and white (glows in the dark, too).. edge.. HBK.. DX.. Brian Pillman memorial.. man, i've got a ton. I'll go take some pictures.

He's got a ton of old videos that I believe he was looking to sell at one point too, and he's welcome to put up a list of them if so desired.
Old school post..

I'm in debt, I need money, I need to sell those videos, no one wants VHS anymore, so I gave up. I think that list is outdated, too.

Here's a zip file of all my wrestling shirts.. front and back pics on most of 'em..

I like that yellow edge and christian one. I'll take some pics of mine and upload them. I have 56k, so I'm going to do front only and it'll be lowest quality pictures. Give me about 30-40 minutes :)
