The old thread hadn't been updated in quite some time, so I decided to make a new one. If you happen to see a sale not listed in the OP, go ahead and post it and I will be sure it's added. The same goes for anything listed that has expired as most sales have no set time frame, let me know and I will remove expired sales. Thanks!

Got $23 of coins just sitting there because the Amazon Store sucks. I mean Google Play isn't great for finding a lot of the good new releases, but Amazon is far worse.

Using the "new and popular", half the freaking games are hidden object and other shovelware.

Then I tried going through Google Play's Top New Games and searched for around 10 games I was interested on Amazon. NONE were there. Amazon has to beef up it's' store.

I have bit iOS and Android and am already annoyed by how many games don't get Android versions but Amazon is killing itself by not even having many of the good games there are on Android.

Free coins are great. But it's actually giving me a negative impression of Amazon since I can't find crap to spend it on (that I don't already own).

I am not going to argue that it is awesome, especially stacked up to its competitors. But I am not going to lament getting free money to spend (or save for now) for it.

The selection is poor, but there are some good ones mixed in. Some Square stuff, Terraria, Dungeon Village, GTA games, as well as non-gaming apps. It's not really too hard to spend your coins if you look around.

That is exactly what I'm going to do for now -- save it for when something does pop up.

Thanks for the info everyone.

Well, I kept uninstalling stuff and it finally installed. All 445mb installed to "app storage", with 102 free remaining. WTF Square? Who does such a thing? It even lets me move 452 mb to internal sd after the install. W.T.F. Why did it all have to go to app storage to begin with, unlike any other large app I have ever downloaded? /end rant

This might be a dumb question, but can games become incompatible with updates? I remember looking at this on Google Play and now it tells me it's not compatible. Or it could've always been incompatible with my device and my memory's hazy though the Amazon version says it's compatible.
I have seen apps either become compatible with updates or vice versa. I can't remember which. It wouldn't surprise me if both occurred.

I know jack shit about Android things, but if I was to spend my precious Amazon coins (Haven't been infinitely dipping because unlike GMG I give enough of a shit about being banned on Amazon) on in-app purchases, would I still have them if I stuck my device in the oven and had to get a new one?

I ask because they're specifically in-APP purchases. Unlike buying DLC on Steam where I know for sure it's tied to my Steam account, and buying programs through the Amazon store where I know for sure it's tied to my Amazon account. I have no idea if I scooped up the full set of Elder Sign shit (Incidentally, anyone with Elder Sign know how much the full shebang runs?) if that is tied to my Amazon account, tied to Elder Sign's servers somewhere identifying my device (Which if I had to replace it I'd then lose what I bought), or if it's just an ethereal one time download that vanishes as soon as it's deleted along with your money.

Got $27 in Amazonbux and I'm kinda thinking about something like $15 for full Elder Sign (That's the last I heard for the price for the game and all the DLC, no idea if that's still accurate or even was in the first place), $4 for Out There, $3 for Rebuild, then $5 to sit around and do nothing. Basically just use Android for super light internet browsing so there's not much I want, but the three of those sound like decent solitaire games with a bit of crunch to them.

I believe the in app purchases won't carry over. I deleted Candy Crush after getting frustrated with level 40; I spent 200 coins on purchases to get that far. I recently reinstalled Candy Crush and all of my progress was gone and I had to restart from scratch.

Then again, that could be restricted to how that one particular game works,

Bought some Where's my water DLC long time ago on a past Android device using Amazon credit. Moved to a new device & when I reinstall all the extra levels are there. But it depends on the in app purchase. DLC like extra levels and such, I believe carry over. Things like candy crush or simpsons tapped out where you buy in game currency, thats another story. Thats what it sounds lke from Cage. However things like candy crush & simpsons tapped out are all cloud based storage, so unless you sync the new device with the cloud then you'd have to start over from scratch.

Lol oh the debate about free coins and Amazon's selections. It doesnt help that a majority of Amazon android apps are for Kindle or Amazon devices either. Since fire TV is now out, a lot of apps work on fire TV only. Just more Zen Pinball tables or various where's my water DLC to buy then. I know I'll always get more coins, but some of the stuff I still have a hard time "buying" for free. Especialliy when I see the versions on Amazon are double the price and arent updated compared to whats on Google play. Seriously can we do something about Plants Vs Zombies? How many years have they not updated that? Wasnt that the launch app for Amazons app stores faotd program? Hell they dont even have PvZ 2 on Amazon.

Thinking of using some of my coins for the Castlestorm VIP pack. Zen Pinball tables are a good idea. But yes, the Kindle version thing is BS too. You would think Amazon would realize it would be better to have cross compatible versions. Sales of popular games on non-Kindle devices would probably outweigh any cross-promotion benefit they get for specific versions.

That's a great point. I did not sign up for Origin on Simpsons Tapped Out so there's a good chance that if I did, all of my progress could be saved. I don't remember Candy Crush having that, but it wouldn't surprise me. Still, I figured some kind of save file would be on my tablet just like on a memory card so if I played the game in the future, I could continue.

BTW, I noticed my download speeds are much more reliable through Google Play than they are on Amazon App Store. I also noticed a drastic slowdown of my tablet since a series of app downloads from Amazon's free app of the day selection. My RAM was down to 20 MB.

So I deleted free apps Graphing Calculator by Mathlab, Calculator Pro, and, since I didn't get far, Family Guy The Quest for Stuff (through Google Play). Now the tablet is working great again. I suspect Calculator Pro was the culprit since it has a long list of permissions including "full wifi access".

Is there any way to get those Fire specific apps to run on non-Fire devices?  I wouldn't mind wasting some free coins on Simpsons Tapped Out, but it's one of those listed as Fire only so it won't even show up on any of my devices.

+1 to all of this

There are so many apps out there that 1) suck up bandwidth needlessly, and 2) never let the processor sleep even when in the background. Many times Ill download some new app, then notice for the next few days that my battery life has gone to shit. Remove that new app and everything is back to normal. This has happened with some big name houses too, not just one off calculators and the like.

IMHO i think its a misunderstanding of many devs jumping on to the mobile bandwagon without understanding embedded programming and what goes in to it, expecting to have constant resources, power, and peripheral access and thats just not how an embedded device works. If you came from a desktop/web programming background though you probably wouldnt have any of these considerations jump to mind while programming.

According to Amazon, they should say on the bottom of the IAP purchase screen if it's "single device" or "multi-device" before you select to buy it.

Now this is an interesting question. Because its device specific, for kindle fire or TV, on the appstore via web it will only show compatibility for that specific device.

However via my device certain Kindle fire versions are able to be installed on my phone.

Angry Birds HD

Monopoly Hotels

Those are 2 of the apps that specifically state via web are kindle fire only. however I go to my apps & I clearly have an option to install them. As most of you know if the app is not compatible with your device then you wont even be given that option.

Im going to buy Simpsons tapped out via web & see if its compatible. Monopoly Hotels is a F2P game & Ive installed it via google play before, but if the kindle version works on my phone & its by EA as well, then just maybe.

Why does Amazon app store app take so long to refresh new purchase.....

*Edit* Of course, Simpsons Tapped out isnt one of the lucky Kindle fire only apps I can play on my phone, crap :(

Threes ($1.99) is now giving back 60 coins. On Google Play, they keep claiming the price will go up to $3, but I don't think it has yet.

Still have my extra 1,000 coins, I think. (Currently, I'm spending down the credit that came w/ the gift card promo, since that'll expire sooner.)

Also messing around with The Plague, though not too often.

How far have you got? Been playing every day since release. I'm at level 16, have not lost a single heart, and rarely use the power-ups. This game lacks challenge. And if I have to do yet another poop-cleaning quest...

Big fan of Ron Gilbert, but I'm not sure how much longer I can keep playing.

I'm almost level 11...only been playing a few days. Definitely not a huge challenge, but it's fun enough to entertain me. Still trying to find a mast so I can build a new ship.

I pretty much just play Sudoku 10,000. Bought Three!, but it's not that addicting to me. Button and Scissors, cause I missed it the first time from Amazon. I'm boring with my phone.

I ended up just buying a mast every time it shows up in the shop. It's only 2000g and is much less frustrating to acquire than waiting for it to show up one of the wheels.

I'm wishing I checked out the achievements before I started playing. I would have knocked out the 'die 10 times' one immediately.

I have a wishlist a mile long. I installed Deadman's Cross (from Square!) a week ago and haven't even touched it.

Gotta take down those epic bosses in Knights and Dragons for more armor I'm never going to bother upgrading.
