I'm trying, but it says I need more trees. And then I put down trees and it tells me I have too many :cry: (probably just a few acres that need some). Now I'm just throwing flowers everywhere.

I definitely want a Golden Watering Can, but it's going to take a bit longer than I had hoped. Oh, and I now have another villager packing up their stuff to move, and I can't do a damn thing to stop it. Why would they take the last ditch effort feature out? It's so annoying not being able to save the villagers in this game.
 
They didn't. You had about 15 days beforehand or something to talk to him and convince him. You can no longer convince them once they start packing.

Have to run some errands, but I'll open my gate for you. All the fossils are sitting there when you come in. Just put the ones your dropping off by nooks.

sorry for the double post- you have to go into their house when they are walking around their boxes and just keep prompting them until they change their mind.

Yeah, something is definitely wrong. I saw Nathan's town open so I went to get my fossils. When I got back, he was gone. A while later I tried to open my gate and it said another town was open, Nathan's. But every time I tried to go it said there was no response. Now it lets me open the gate without even giving me the message of others being open.

I'll try to visit you Alex and see if it goes through. If not, then I'm just going to watch some tv.
 
Too many wifi errors today. Mostly 61070, but now when I do manage to connect and see a list of towns, it gives me 80430 errors whenever I try to visit someone.

I guess all those people who got AC as a gift are all trying to get online now.

It's not looking too good when even the Nintendo Wi-Fi page won't load properly:

My system connects, then fails, then connects, then fails. It's starting to piss me off! I'll try again later tonight but in the meantime I'm gonna play Chrono Trigger which is happily internet-free.

yeah, it was telling me that for a while. and i finally gave in and made a grid out of my town by placing tiles on the ground. this would have gone pretty quick. but i made a mistake and gridded my town into a 4x4 grid, instead of a 5x5 grid. once i realized my mistake, i had to regrid everything and plant a bunch of more trees since i'd cut town a bunch.

the problem i was having, i found out, was that if you have too few or too many trees you need a ton of flowers. but there's a sweet spot.

for 8 of the squares (there's 25), if you have 12-15 trees, you only need 3 flowers.
and for the rest of the squares, if you have 10-17 trees, you won't need any flowers.

that's not the only way to do it, but for me it was the easiest.

edit - also i should mention. you can have too many trees, but you can't have too many flowers.
 
I just kept planting tree after tree after tree and flower after flower after flower. Then when she FINALLY told me I had too many trees, I waited one more day to see which saplings died. Checked again--not enough trees.

So I walked around to the first dead sapling and planted a new fruit right next to it. Check environment--not enough. Plant another near the next dead sapling. Check environment--not enough. Plant another--too many.

The next day I checked on those specific saplings that I planted. Only one didn't make it, but she told me I didn't have enough. So I planted another nearby it and she told me I had too many. So that general region was the only spot that needed that extra sapling by that point.

I walked around and looked for trees that were right next to others. I cut down two serious perpetrators and went back to town hall. Perfect!

The next day, I found my newest sapling had made it. It was snowing, so flower watering wasn't necessary; just had to go pluck the weeds and got a perfect again.

The rule of thumb I followed with flowers was try to make it so that no matter where you are, you can always see two flowers.

I'm looking forward to getting this can so I can level some trees and make lush flowing hybrid factories!
 
Sorry lilboo, I kinda stopped playing Wii after lunch so I didn't see your message until now. I should be around tomorrow, and I think that will be okay since Katie tends to stay in town a few days?

no, it's 25 16x16s. the whole town is 80x80. and you want to cut it into a 5x5 grid.
and 80/5=16. so when i made my grid, i was counting to 16 and putting a tile down.

yea, i definitely want to get this done before spring. i love cutting away a spot for a garden, and growing some unique flowers.
 
I'm starting to believe that napoleonfish and rays do not exist in my town. I've spent over five hours looking for just these two fish and nothing. :bomb:
 
Man, I hate to say this but I am starting to get really bored of this game... :(

...and I'm not even a TT'er!

This game is too much like the other ones and I just feel like I'm doing it all over again.
I just turned it on, for sole purpose of finding Joan..and wow, it felt like such a chore. I couldn't find her and I was getting frustrated because I didn't feel like playing at the moment... :lol:

But then again, I just might be more into my PS3 since it's new. Who knows. Maybe I'll get real addicted to it asap...I hope so. It's really the only Wii game that interests me :(
