Animal Crossing: City Folk - Gen. Discussion and info
Converse, I failed horribly at marking acres! They seem to overlap and not even make it to the beach. No perfect town rating here.
yeah, i had some serious problems marking acres in my town. it took me a long time to get it right. but eventually i got 25 16x16 squares. i think the beach ones were a little smaller. and i may have only gone 15 across on the right side. though i can't remember.

but once i was happy with my grid. i cut down all the trees and took all the flowers off the grid lines. since i wasn't sure which acre they belonged to. and then i counted everything and just made the necessary adjustments.

and i was so happy afterwards to get rid of my clumped trees.

122 during the AM hours, and then down to 99 this evening at my Nookway. I almost jumped at the 122 this morning as that is a modest profit. My Nookway hasn't been that good the past couple of weeks, topping out at 135 and bottoming out at 65.

Hi, I just started playing this game a month ago and I really want to play online and have some friends to play with. Anyone want to add me? I play this game almost everyday! Here's my info:

Name: Edrian
AC FC: 2192-2192-3461
Town Name: Irvine
Fruit: Oranges

Just PM me an I'll register you asap. Much thanks in advance :D

Wait... Nook's turnip prices fluctuate during the day?
Wait... Nook's turnip prices fluctuate during the day?
yea, they are different prices before 12pm and after(one of the girls here pointed that out)
i missed out on buying turnips this week but i'm still checking prices in case for CAGs
I got this game yesterday. It was $35 with the wiispeak at best buy. I have not opened it yet though. I will try it soon.
Wow - great price! I hadn't heard of that sale.

Wow... I may resell a few at that price. But getting to why I am posting, I am very active .... if you add me... make sure you pm me with your information... also I have a friend that keeps his second Wii locked on a day that pays 544...

I can't find any mention of Animal Crossing:City Folk for $35 with or without WiiSpeak in the Best Buy weekly ad (it isn't shown at all) and the website shows the regular version as $49.99. So that price is probably YMMV.

Thanks for making a new list. I'm like to get back on this weekend and visit some towns. Unfortunately, the rest of this week's going to be shitty as the wife will be convalescing after surgery.

I've added everyone to my friend list that was in that post a few back, so if you could do the same that would be cool.

I am typically on anytime between 5-10pm EST, and if I don't see a town open, I open my gates.

I've managed to squeeze time in to play despite looking after my daughter! I won't be able to devote as much time as I usually do this week because she has 2 dr. appointments, home nurses, etc. However, I'm still around!!!

Ah fantastic, WELL, if you've added me, please pm me to tell me, becasue I only know of 5 or 4 people, and interstella, i will add you tonight once my brother gets off, but hes watching a movie right now, if not tonight i will tomorrow.

I added abunch of FCs tonight (listed below), but kilraven - the FC you provided is giving an error. It says it isn't a valid friend code. Double check your code.

I added all of the following people:

Interstella 5555
miktauangela1435
Z06.0
greyzieoriental
datura
Ski Hawk

Please add me to your games as well.

Well, I had some free time tonight so I decided to add people from the active poster list above. So, will the following please add me to their friends list as well,

Unassuming Local Guy
miktau
Scrubking
gocolts18
levi333
Plinko
greyzieoriental
scp89
Gothic Walrus
Ski Hawk
oemor

If the following do not add me I will be forced to listen to some Hawthorn Heights albums and think about how sad my life is.

Nice list crunchewy, I will be adding the people on the list as well when I'm not so lazy, maybe tomorrow when I check prices.

Also I have all fruits, Pears, Cherries, Oranges, Apples and Coconuts (pretty sure that's all of them?)

Sorry, my mistake. It's 3953-1486-4920. I put a two instead of the three.

Okay, today I added applecrisp, darkpumpkin, levi333, gocolts18, kilraven, miktau, unassuming, and interstella5555. Anyone else who plays regularly speak up! I don't have anything good, but I'll open my gates anyway in a few minutes and pray the phone doesn't ring (the phone interrupts the modem line).

I'm typically on in the evenings. If you happen to add me, please let me know. My FC list is currently full, but I'd be glad to boot off some of the folks who I never see online.

FC: 0130-5339-4784
Name: Alison
Town: Kneadies
Fruit: Cherries

I updated the active FC list.

If you aren't listed and wish to be, just let me know and I'll add you, or just post your info and I'll add you. I intend to keep the list up to date. I can't guarantee instant updates, but will update as soon as I can. If I ever happen to miss anyone's new FC post, please just gently point me to it and I'll add it.

Also, if anyone wants an eagle neighbor, Avery's getting ready to move out of my town. All you have to do is talk to him a few times and get him to like you.

I've seen him in the city & I like him. I think if anyone wants him to move to their town, they also need an open space in order to convince him to move there. So if their town is full & can't have any new neighbors like my town, they'd have to get someone to move out first.

Added to my Friends today: Unassuming Local Guy, Interstella 5555, alison, crunchewy, VioletArrows, ProfWho

greyzieoriental
Friend Code: 0646-0100-6931

Add me, I'll leave my gates open for awhile starting now.
Take whatever fruits you need and it just started snowing here too.
Good time for fishing for the big one. I will update when I close.

Good time for fishing for the big one.
Speaking of catching the big one...

I went to a friend's town tonight and we fished for a couple hours trying to catch a coelacanth. We saw what we thought was it on three occasions (neither of us had seen a fish 'shadow' that particular size/shape)...but each time, we couldn't reel it in before it swam off.

Any tips?

I've been fishing every day for two weeks and getting nothing but junk fish. My brother just started playing a few days ago, and gets a stringfish on his first try fishing, and the other neighbors are giving him rare stuff like UFOs and won't stop talking about him.

*buys a pith helmet from Mabel and goes on safari*

Wish I could give you tips, but I haven't even seen one's shadow yet.
If it's like the other AC's the shadow should be like 3" long or something.
Biggest thing I've seen was the Sea Bass. #-o Not you again.

Practice reeling in the smaller fish using sound only. After you cast your reel and see the fish is about to bite, train yourself to react only to the sound of the fish biting. I did this by closing my eyes, and after a few tries, my AC fish catching reflexes were quite good! I've caught plenty of coelecanth, stringfish, and tuna since then.

Nook is buying turnips for 187 this afternoon. If you want to jump on it, PM me, because every time I open my gates no one shows up, then my connection dies, I forget, and lose all my progress. You used to be able to save when the gates were open. -_-*

PS: If you do decide to come over, could you bring an axe if you have one? I don't get why there are never axes in my store, just fishing poles and water cans.

I agree with trying to catch fish by sound. I don't think the coelacanth look that big. I always get them confused with the seabass. You just have to keep trying and you will get it one day. I probably missed 5 or 6 before I finally got one.

One CAG suggested a long time ago to listen to the vibration of your Wii remote. There is a different vibration noise made when the fish bites, that actually happens a little before the noise on the TV is heard. Does that make any sense? Try holding the Wii remote to your ear to hear the differences between the vibration noises.

I hate how you can only save your progress and keep playing only when people are in town.

Do you need axes? I think I might have plenty in storage and can send you some.

I've read you should use the 'nunchuk' method to catch fix. Would that be referring to using the wiimote/nunchuk controls instead of wiimote only...or hitting a button on the nunchuk to set the hook instead of wildly wagging the wiimote?

My friend joked that we have now finally gone on our first fishing trip together...and we already have a 'one that got away' story.

If you can spare one or two. I've got fruit that needs planting (not that fruit rots).

Pressing C on the nunchuk is a faster and sure way of casting and reeling in instead of jerking the remote around and getting accidental reel-ins (of which I've had plenty).

A coelacanth shadow is the same size as the tuna's. (but the tuna is the one that bites really fast, putting your reflexes to the test) Scare away anything that isn't sea bass size or larger so you don't waste your time catching horse mackerels and other annoying fish.

I haven't checked this myself, but I heard recently that a fish can only nibble on the lure a maximum of 5 times. Meaning if it hasn't bitten by the 4th nibble it will bite on the 5th.

Having a friend over on wifi can help because they can call out to you whenever they see a big shadow.

Other than that, just make sure it's raining and after 4pm and you should catch a coelacanth eventually. They are extremely rare so don't get discouraged and give up just because you didn't catch one on your first day trying.

I have my gate open for anyone that would like to visit. I can't offer a good turnip price, just company. Also, I need a lamp. Anyone's Nooks have a lamp for sale? Or at least I presume that is what is meant when Lucy says she wants something "lampy"

That's true, 4 nibbles and a bite.

Am I the only one who looks away when they're fishing, just going by the wiimote vibration and sound? If I watch the bobber go down when they nibble, I often jump the gun and hit "A" too soon.

Sorry, been a bit busy in real life.... I will do the adds tomorrow... adding everyone on chewy's updated 1-28 list...
