Animal Crossing: City Folk - Gen. Discussion and info

I added Plinko and CL, but Nintendo WiFi is down for me tonight. I also got tired of looking at all those long incompleted friends and purged them all. Io, Strell, etc, you're all gone. If you ever add me let me know.

Damn, well at least it is not only me having connection problems. I would love to stop by and sell some turnips, since my Nook is only taking them at 51 bells. I will not take a 40 bell loss.
 
I'll be up a little longer and will try openning up again in a bit. Still can't decide if I should sell or not. Somebody said prices tend to peak on Thursdays. True or not?
 
Hmm. It is open so I think there are still problems. And we are on each others friends lists with hollow heart (haven't visited each other but have exchanged codes). It's past 12 now and the price is now 115 bells. I've got to get to bed. We'll have to see what tommorrow offers. Both Nook's and Nintendo WiFi...

Sounds good. Hopefully the price will go up tomorrow and the Wifi will work.

I don't get DREs, my Wii reads the disc fine, but AC always seems to freeze in the first 2 minutes. When I start it up again it's just fine. Maybe I just need a new disc.

I just want everyone to know that I'll be on very little next week. My daughter was born premature and has been in the hospital since October. She is finally going to get to come home next week. I have to stay with her for three days at the hospital and then around Thursday she should finally be home. So please don't delete me! I promise I will return!

430 Bells per turnip

in my town right now! I'll open my gate, but I can't add any new people since my list is full. Nookway is open until 10 PM Pacific time.
 
Oh what a dream it would be to be on the legendary Miranda32. :) Darn Nintendo 32 FC limit.... Oh well, maybe my Nooks will have a good price. I'll find out later tonight. Or someone else's?
 
I might have to start deleting inactive people so people in the past 3 pages can visit. There are some people whose gates I've never seen open and have never been to my town. But not everyone on my list is from CAG and there are some people (friends of friends) that I don't have codes for, so I couldn't re-add them if I deleted them unless they were in the same town as me again.

It's mostly the friends of friends who have been the active ones though. I have a few regulars that visit that I don't have friend codes for.

Are there any CAGs not playing anymore that I can delete?

I don't know if you added me or not, Miranda, but I want to partake of the Turnip prices you mentioned on the previous page in an hour or so. I want to beat this Objective in Valkyria Chronicles first, though.

EDIT: Gate is open again. I'll be going out to lunch now, so I hope my connection stays.

I'll also try to see who I can delete and add some new people when I get back. Don't worry, my Nook is open for another 8 hours and 20 minutes, so there's still plenty of time! I'll post here if I add anyone else.

The fountain takes exactly a week from when they first started telling you about it. And you won't be able to throw the axe in the first day you have it since Tortimer will be there all day.
 
I'm back. I deleted two people and I added crunchewy and ProfWho to my list.

I don't think I can delete/add any more people for now.

Thank you. Since my wife will want to watch Gray's Anatomy and stuff I won't be on till 10 Central Time (9:30 if I am lucky). Do you think you'll have you gates open around then?
 
Thanks everyone! I was starting to think we were never going to get her home. She had to have a temporary ileostomy so she will need some in-home nurses for awhile, but other than that she's amazing. She was only 2 pounds and 7 ounces at birth but is now up to 6 pounds and 5 ounces. Her birth was bittersweet though, as my dad passed away from cancer 4 days afterwards.

That's why Animal Crossing is such a wonderful escape for me. The other night when my fiancee saw me chatting away to some fellow CAG'ers while playing he said, "Never make fun of me for playing WoW again."

I'll be on in a little bit. My turnips are going for 145 bells I believe, so feel free to come on in!

Currently in that slot is lilboo.

If anyone else wants to sell turnips in my town, post your FC and I'll add you once lilboo is finished. Make sure you defriend me once you're done so that we don't have problems with Katie/Kaitlin.

Thanks Miranda for making room, etc. Not only did I get to sell my first non-rotten turnips (200 of them) for a tidy profit, but I caught my first Koi while I was there. Woohoo!
 
Argh, a third pig just moved into my town! :bomb:

Hey Joaquin, the cat gave me the Papa Bear. I already have it so I'll mail it to you. You should receive it in the year 2012 :lol: I'll start making snowmen again to get some more pieces. Did you have the carpet? I think you just need the sofa. And it takes a week for the fountain to be built.

Turnip price is 133 in my town for anyone who still has some.
 
I'm not so good at making snowmen. My 7 year old succeeded once and got the snowman bed. If anyone wants to try, we have plenty of snow in our town since we started in the winter - no grass problem here. Hmm... but can guests make snowmen and will they get items from them if successful?
 
we got our windmill today.
i'm not sure what to make of it. i can't walk on the ocean side of it, so it'll take away from my fishing somewhat.

it looks pretty good. but since i can't walk in front of it. i rarely get to enjoy the sight. i wish it were a little further away from the water.

and i've been throwing an axe in the fountain every day for about 2 weeks now. and i am beginning to get frustrated. where's my golden axe!!! i've even started to make an attempt with my wife's character as well. so i can try twice a day.

i've looked up what you're supposed to say. but it looks like luck is still a big big part of it.

I donated the million to get a vote going for a windmill/lighthouse. I chose the Windmill. Why? It seems like everyone else gets the Lighthouse.

And it wouldn't even let me use my usual name. Anyone know what the naming rules? It doesn't say anything in the manual about what you can call your character. It just told me no to "Violet". :/

I'll be glad to open up my gates in 30 minutes or so. I only have a couple of open spots left, but I'll add anyone I can. All I ask is that you don't run when/if you visit my town :)
 
The game definitely has same weird name restrictions. I noticed all that when trying to enter CAG names in the comments of my FC list. Offhand I can't remember what was rejected but I remember that most of the rejections seemed pretty odd. Oh well. I love the game.
 
I've gone ahead and opened my gates. I'll be gone for the next couple of hours, so if anyone winds up stopping by to sell of some turnips, leave me a message on the notice board :)
