Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

Naruto Set 3 came with the storyboard however Code Geass R2 was nothing like the description. First the seller said it'd be shipped in a black replacement case as pictured. It's not a black case but a white case. More so the front cover is super glossy giving me the feeling that it is a bootleg. Not even that but on the front cover where the Knightmare Frame is pictured next to Lelouch there is an obvious rip right smack dab in the middle. Now its gets worse. Disc 1 has a chip in it. ANd the disc holders inside collapsed during shipping so now nothing is able to be closed. The seller also is selling another one of these sets with the same picture as the one I bought and same description. He's also begun selling the Studio Ghibli bootleg. How do I go about this?

So put the disc in and then what? I'm sure this is a fake. No cover should be this glossy compared to any other anime legends box set He's selling the ghibli fake one too. The last thing I'm gonna do is return this so he can sell it again.

 
Don't mean to double post but shouldn't disc art cover the entire disc and not leave a circle of pure gray from where the dvd is copied on to? Looking at other discs I own the cover art wraps all the way around. Fml

Edit: this is a fake or at least something in terrible condition. Dvd skips frequently. goes to straight to main menu with no previews and just skips and skips and skips. super bad quality on a retina macbook and worse on an xbox one. this guy is going down not before i get my money first

Hmmm that's interesting can you turn one of the disc over and see if inside the inner ring and see if it says the name of the title and what volume number.

Disc 2 reads off in the back as volume 2 but geass is misspelled.

edit: do i do a paypal dispute or an ebay return dispute or both? i'm not returning it so he can scam it off to someone else. i can't even close the damn case after all the holders are messed up

edit deux: someone please steer me in the right direction. this seller really needs to go. people are getting scammed with ghibli fakes and the same product i bought down to the same picture is being bid on as we speak.

they don't even match up. i'm saving that link though for the day i become a 6 hundred dollarnaire. this guy is done scamming people out of their money. funny how he waited so long to ship it and never once answered my emails

 
Dispute filed. Tempted to escalate to claim and list my product that I bought compared to the one he is listing right now. In addition the ghibli fakes. 

 
I've known a few people who don't care about bootlegs at all and if it has the advertised movie/show on it then they don't care. I think a friend of mine was happy about getting one once because it came with the soundtrack......... =_=

 
Seller is saying this is legit and that a description doesn't have to match what is being sold. He sells around 2 of these a day lol. Already escalated this and included the links. Thinks he can get out of the ghibli thing by saying that in the description he mentions they are fakes. eBay policy states you cannot sell bootlegs of any kind

 
because i filed a paypal dispute i cannot file an ebay dispute. its one or the other. now i have to wait until 3 pacific time to be connected with a paypal agent to resolve this case. good thing is i've been told i don't have to return anything since ebay protocol is to discard a bootleg/counterfeit. bad thing is i will have to collect r2 again or just leave it. *sigh*

I already own R1 on DVD so I was thinking of completing my collection. Not sure when the re-release will hit. I'll just stream R2 and pick up the complete series when it does. Good news is that i got my refund after going rounds and rounds with the seller. No need for eBay to call me anymore thankfully. Now hopefully someone else doesn't get scammed

 
Dragon ball z blu rays 6 and 7 are on sale sub $20 for the first time at 17.99 each on amazon, best buy has season 5,6,and 7 on sale 17.99, and has battle of the gods for 17.99 too.
 
They were one sale on BB first and Amazon as always just PM'd them.

Amazon hasn't PM'd Battle of the Gods because it is backordered at BB right now.

thanks for the heads up. Grabbed Season 6 and 7 from Amazon (had credit) and grabbed Season 5 from Best Buy. Now I have to wait till Season 4 goes on sale.

I just realized I too have bought from Raging Comic and I'm not certain if it was Code Geass R2 or not.But I did receive a legit copy of it as it has the security seal and came in a clear phat type dvd case.

EDIT: yup I was right I did buy from him and it was Code Geass R2

Kai is roughly the same picture quality but maybe a tad more remastering work has gone into Kai. But what the real difference is Kai cuts out a majority of filler episodes/scenes that were not in the manga, the regular blu rays have everything from the original tv series.

the actual dialog for the show was so crappy the dub cast was told they could just do what ever and they decided to freestyle it. its ridiculously funny. the only constant was the story line and basic plot.

There are a few Bandai bootlegs out there that are mirror copies of the originals (but have a black case and use single layer DVDs). There are not too many but they are out there. Whoever does them is doing them again with the KLK DVD parts currently.

The seasons are the original show as shown on TV years ago. Kai is a recut that cuts out (most) of the anime-exclusive filler.

Which one is better is largely YMMV. Do note that Kai's dub is far more faithful than the original's. I personally like the original Cell Saga more, prefer the Kai Freeza Saga, and the Saban Saiyan Saga.
 
Any of you lot watched Shiki? I just got done marathoning it, and that was really quite fantastic. It was worth the ridiculously long wait for it to be re-released in an affordable form. It riffs on Salems Lot a little bit too much, but that's a pretty strong foundation, so there are worse things to be heavily inspired by.

Very morose and rather depressing story, though. It's funny, I don't like watching sad/depressing shows, yet those are always the ones that I walk away being the most impressed by. I think I view stories that aren't afraid to do any number of bad things to the main cast as having more merit or integrity... they're just not as 'fun' to watch.

 
Best Buy has a lot of other titles on sale. Attack on Titan regular is $24.99 each, Yu-Gi-Oh classic is $20 a season, most Sentai Blu-rays are $32-$35, and many Naruto Shippuden sets are about $22. All told, BB has 378 anime titles discounted.

Sadly the odds of BB restocking are slim to none at least in my area. Went today and still nothing noteworthy. Attack on Titan at 24.99 with 10% movers coupon sounds like a great steal

Movers coupons have to be used instore only. Cashier takes coupon and scans it first. Then scans the eligible product and 10% is taken off automatically. Cashier throws away coupon and you pay. Cannot be used with price matching and certain product are ineligible. I use them on movies and games all the time and have one primed for a ps vita. Only issue is that these coupons have a dead period starting next month for black friday through christmas. they become unusable and refuted
