 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

http://www.dvdplanet.com/Pages/Search/Category.aspx?ec=42000

http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cfm

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Digimon Tamers was written by the guy who made Serial Experiments Lain and he was also a big fan of Evangelion as well.

I remember One Piece on 4kids. To be honest, I liked what I saw back then. I never knew Sanji's Lolipop was a Cigar until I saw the other version. Mind was blown.

I feel bad that I got into One Piece via the 4kids version. I remember them showing an hour every weekend and then when I saw the real version my mind was blown. That was like 2005? 2006?

Kids these days really got it easy in terms of watching anime... even legally. I'm floored that some guys devote themselves to the now crazy slow pacing of Toonami's anime block rather than marathoning all of it on Hulu/CR/Netflix.

Just because of its writer doesn't mean it isn't a kid's show. The series aired on Sunday mornings (Japan's equivalent to Saturday mornings) and was created to sell toys and other merchandise. Sunday morning shows are meant for kids, early weeknight shows (such as Pokémon, InuYasha, and Naruto) are meant for families, late Saturday nights are meant for teenagers and early adults, while midnight and later are for Otaku only.

It's no different in America. Avatar, Legend of Korra, the DCAU, Young Justice, Adventure Time, and Star Wars Clone Wars/Rebels are all kids shows despite having a lot of content that appealed to teens and adults.

Hmm, at some point when I wasn't paying attention Amazon sold out of the LE sets of Devil is a Part Timer, and they want over retail for the regular edition.  I guess I'll need to stop by Best Buy on the way home.

Does anyone know if Best Buy has started their longer Christmas return period, or even if they are still doing that?  There's a chance that I might get this for Christmas, but I don't want to pass it up at $25.  I'd be happier if I knew I could return it after the holidays.

What is the difference between the LE as nd th he ine at best buy. I only see the LE on Amazon,. In regards to devil as a part timer.
if you mean LE vs Standard its just the packing. The LE has 2 blu-ray cases with the 2 dvds in one and the 2 blu-rays in the other. Both cases are housed within the hard chipboard art box. The Standard come in a larger blu-ray case and holds all 4 disks in it. The case is then covered with a sleeve or slip cover or w.e you want to call it.

If you mean LE vs Standard in regards to features, then nothing is different.

If you mean is there a different version at Best Buy, there is not.

Note: The best buy version on sale is the standard edition. ($24.99)

The BB LE is 59.99

&

Amazon is $72.99 LE and $58.48 it looks like for the stanard just missing the blue bar in the picture

Bordom at its finest lol

Yugioh 1-5 at 20-25 a piece. Tempting if Bestbuy discounts this during Black Friday like they do most children's shows which apparently it is classified as because it is next to Spongebob and the have nots at my store. Perhaps they will get those in. All they have atcm is S5.

where is this? in-store only?

If I find it for dirt cheap (talking $10 or less) I will, otherwise I won't as I couldn't justify paying more than that for a terrible show even if the CE looks decent.
I got turned away from it after seeing the matrix sniper scene. Along with all the female characters apparently having their tits filled with jello.

Edit: nvm was for Gargantia :p

Anyone here actually picking up the HSOTD CE?
Already got mine locked in with RS for what $80+? Beats Amazon $100+ they want.

If you do PM me cause that would be an amazing price. ;)

Ugh. Was hoping Railgun wouldn't be in another crappy bloated case.

And Highschool of the Dead > Walking Dead.
Yeah sadly just like Index S1. Blah...if they were at least going to do a fat case, they should have separated it into two standard cases and put it in the slipbox like the DVD.

I'll probably pick up Fairy Tail Collection 3 along with Index/Railgun just so I can batch them all into one order. I'm not bugged by the larger than normal Blu cases.

forgot to mention this is at amazon. but sometimes it goes on sale at bestbuy sadly mine as mentioned only has one of them. although i do see them discounting it during bf because again it is classified as children's
i must have missed it, they are higher than Best Buy.

But once again in Awesome news, I get home from work/the gym and see these. Made my day i tell you what.

I like the dvd version better because you don't get that blue bar from the blu ray. too late now. thing is rare.

Can some plz show me how to post a pic like that I always post pics that have attached thumbnail and it always looks sideways.
Under more reply options you can add pictures that don't look like attached thumbnails or sideways. That's how i get all mine up

When you reply hit the image icon under the smiley's and input the direct link for the pic (it says "for emails & IM"). (I use imgur to add my pics)

But it is G1 (DVD size) versus the correct G2 (blu size) for the blu ray. I don't mind the blu ray banner. It is nice though when it isn't plastered on the slipover though. At least most of the slipboxes don't have it on there. God forbid that.

the mass uprising if it was. i think i also am the only one who doesn't mind the fat blu ray cases like for black lagoon.

35 bucks later and I now own the first half of the original Naruto. Volumes 1-5. Now I need 6-10 which is a lot easier to collect at least based off my research atcm

Any of you lot watched Shiki? I just got done marathoning it, and that was really quite fantastic. It was worth the ridiculously long wait for it to be re-released in an affordable form. It riffs on Salems Lot a little bit too much, but that's a pretty strong foundation, so there are worse things to be heavily inspired by.
Yeah I watched it over the course of a few days pretty eerie series. Though in all honesty I found it true to life or rather it fit my view of humanity towards the end.

Heads up, RS got these titles in early and is shipping soon.

I am certainly ready to spend a few hundred on anime this Black Friday, as I certainly don't see too much that I have to get from either sale right now.  (This is also a reply to DNukem170 from a while ago too - I'm trying not to be an jerk but I didn't want to spam either).

I do have an easy question - is there a bad time to get the Got Anime? discount from RightStuf when it comes to coupons or sales?  I'm confident it will be worth it unless more than half of the BF sales are excluded or something like that.  Thanks!

BF stuff is usually excluded from Got Anime. The true best time to get it IMHO is when you will save enough to pay for it. For Example, i got it during the funi sale bc all the stuff i got/pre-ordered was covered under GA and saved me 15$ which paid for the membership + some.

Yeah, studio sales and the occasional oversight are the only times you'll ever get to use the Got Anime membership discount.  That being said, I've never had any problems covering the cost.  I've been a member ever since Borders went out of business and I shifted all of my manga purchases to them.

Amagami SS also shipping early I wonder if Sentai just sends RS things a month at a time~ lol

Does Amazon no longer allow people to sell Anime? I've been trying to list the stuff I recently replaced with Blu-rays and every time I click to sell, it says "Sorry, the ability to create a listing for this item is restricted."

I really don't want to sell stuff on eBay since people tend to low-ball you frequently. I especially don't want to trade anything in to a brick & mortar as they give you peanuts for it.

i will note though that a strange occurrence happened recently, where i bought a few things from the bargain bin and it specifically said no coupons or discounts. yet when they charged me they applied the GA discount.

Best Buy had Ghost in a Shell Arise out. I told them that SD was the 28th but it rang up when they scanned it. Also it was only $21.99 there. Cheaper then anyone else. I have post pics in the haul thread. Also Bayonette was $17.99. No Letters to Momo at my BB though. But I got them to PM the blowitoutahere price for $16.

The slipbox is on the thin side kind of like HAL was but the title is metallic

Still even with the approved list to be an amazon seller some of them should not be selling period. I got an fma box set once that had water stains and smelled like dog piss. It was listed as brand new. All it had was a flimsy piece of shrink wrap on top

Might I ask what you are trying to unload. Perhaps there may be something I am interested in and can offer you a price
