 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Danganronpa is a better game than it is an anime, I'm feelilng Kill La Kill for this round. While I enjoyed Parasyte, I think this round will be an easy win for One-Punch Man. (very appropriate) Of the other four entries going at it in this round, I can't really say. I've only seen Death Note. And I considered Death Note to be a tad bit overrated. Not bad, certainly, but getting up it's own butt a little by the end. Yet another series that outstayed its welcome, and probably should have ended earlier than it did.

I haven't seen Tokyo Ghoul, so how it fares against Death Note would better be predicted by someone else. The other two series I'm completely unfamiliar with, so just a big shrug on that one.

Looks like Toonami is co-producing FLCL S2/S3. IT'S HAPPENING, GUYS!!!

Toonami is proud to announce an original co-prodution with legendary studio, Production I.G, “FLCL” seasons 2 and 3! That’s right, we are producing 12 new FLCL episodes to be split into two seasons, and serve as a sequel to the original classic, FLCL! Stay tuned for more info when we have it!

Omakase, that bi-monthly subscription service that most people heard of because it gets free Otakon subscriptions, is closing up shop after the Hatsune Miku box shipping out soon. Any current subscriptions will carry through so you can still view the various anime and manga available on the site, but after the subs run out the site will close.

Pretty unnecessary if you ask me. The show told a complete story(was also lightning in a bottle). I honestly can't see it working for 12 episodes. Then you have the Psycho-Pass director at the helm(not exactly a fit for this material). I'll give it a shot though.

^ This. The story had an ending. It was also refreshing at the time. It's at least 10 years too late for a sequel.

it had the end of an arc but it was still a pretty open ending.

either way I don't know how to feel about the whole thing. I don't see the point, but since it's gonna be a thing I guess I will just hope that it's good and helps toonami's ratings.

I think the bigger news is that cartoon network is committed to toonami through early 2018.

Rooting for Death Note or Parasyte to win the contest.

And I too am voting against Kill La Kill.

As for FLCL - I'm looking forward to more music from The Pillows.

I was looking for another Toomami-aired show to pair with Blue Sub no. 6 for a joke. Instead I saw that they're also reviving Samurai Jack. I think I'm much more excited about that than I am FLCL.

Then again, they'll probably snub Phil LaMarr like they did the Powerpuff Girls. (Obviously Mako Iwamatsu can't reprise his role of Aku)

Samurai Jack and FLCL? Wow....blast from the distant past. I remember when I watched FLCL I was very, very, very confused. I need to find it and watch it again now that I understand the strangeness of anime and it might make more sense. I do remember it being utterly ridiculous though.

FLCL S2/3 Synopsis:

In the new season of FLCL, many years have passed since Naota and Haruhara Haruko shared their adventure together. Meanwhile, the war between the two entities known as Medical Mechanica and Fraternity rages across the galaxy. Enter Hidomi, a young teenaged girl who believes there is nothing amazing to expect from her average life, until one day when a new teacher named Haruko arrives at her school. Soon enough, Medical Mechanica is attacking her town and Hidomi discovers a secret within her that could save everyone, a secret that only Haruko can unlock.
But why did Haruko return to Earth? What happened to her Rickenbacker 4001 she left with Naota? And where did the human-type robot ‘Canti’ go?

I'm curious to see how they handle another season of FLCL, though extremely skeptical that they'll be able to capture what made the original so unique. But hey, at least it's not another show about kids being trapped in a video game!

You know what's really fun?  I saw the third ova WAYYYYYY back in 2000 (at AWA), with no earlier introduction to the show, just a little after it had come out in Japan.  You know what's really fuck ing confusing?  That, because I had no idea what had happened before, nor did I find out for a few years what happened after.  Though, I loved it, and immediately made my AOL IM screen name FLCL, which was then stolen 3, or so years later, after the show had come over here, and become popular.  Also, I'm kinda mad that Gainax isn't involved.

So instead of a boy going through puberty, it'll be a girl? So instead of a protruding thingie, there will be a hole?

It's totally going to be a black hole that sucks up the robots.

Everyone of talent has left Gainax for Trigger. They haven't been good in years.

This is a probably the place to ask so here goes: I've been meaning to rewatch Evangelion in the best quality possible. Apparently this means DVD, specifically the platinum perfect collection. I checked ebay and amazon and the only box sets are either stupidly priced or outright bootlegs. What are my options for tracking down the collection or individual disk volumes? Should I be looking into digital downloads? The little bit of research I did made my head hurt.

Death Note vs. Your Lie in April = Death Note
Kill la Kill vs. One-Punch Man = One Punch Man. I really hope one punch Man win

I sure in the End Death Note will the battle :)
that's what i went with.

and after that OPM will beat out death note.

looking at the ratings from the round though, death note barely beat tokyo ghoul so...it might not beat you lie in april.

Hope so. Voting Death Note (my pick with the fallen Parasyte) and One Punch Man because it's against Kill La Kill.

And because the guy looks like Tien.

Hmm, I started pricing out the original volumes on the half price books marketplace and it comes to around $40-50 or so. Worth it?
People can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's probably the best price you'll find until someone re-releases it. Then again, I haven't looked at prices for it in a long time.
