Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon. 

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

Nice! Got High School DxD at Amazon for $25. Glad that the Lightning Deal turned into a black friday/cyber monday sale. Now only if Rightstuf drops their price a bit more on the LE of Guilty Crown...

And if that happens, I'll buy it and then be done buying anime for the rest of the month. Have way too many titles to catch up on.

Anything worth looking into? I know Baka and Test is pretty funny, good price? Claymore? Black Lagoon? Im kinda new to buying anime so I am not sure about prices on these

 
The best advice I can give is to check Amazon's prices for comparison.  For example, Fairy tail and Black Lagoon are both cheaper there (and are both good purchases at Amazon's price) while B&T, No. 6, and Garden of Words are all cheaper at RS.

Claymore is awesome if you like Berserk.  Black Lagoon if you like mercenary type stuff.  They're both on youtube IIRC so go watch the first episode or two to get a feel.

It is unfortunate that the anime ending gets changed up so that they don't have to have follow-on seasons, but it's still worth buying I think. It's a solid show.

 
Umm... I have to disagree, CCS's and Angelic Layer's animes are better than the manga.  I could almost argue that Chobits' is too, but it's manga was really freaking good.  Anyway, some people may want to take a chance on This ugly yet beautiful world, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it's a fairly typical end of the world/monster of the day anime, but the art, and animation are really nice.  It's also done by Gainax.

 
The Chobits anime and manga were pretty different by the fact the show had a lot more comedy,while the manga was more in-depth and had more development for the characters of Dita and Zima.

 
I second Angelic Layer. The anime was fun with some decent animation and a very heartfelt ending. The manga just...sucked. And the reason for Misaki's mom not seeing her daughter in the manga is insulting.

It was actually posted awhile ago on page 43, as not just Studio Ghibli titles are on sale, but also numerous Funi titles, and other anime titles are part of this sale, so you just missed it. ;D

I ordered a video sub from them on monday... I didn't pay attention, didn't see that paypal wouldn't work, went that route, had it fail... went back and ordered via credit card only to find out that they managed to take money from my paypal but never confirm an order with paypal.

I then contacted them about it, clearly saying that I just wanted a refund on my paypal order I didn't want a second year... but instead they pushed through the paypal order as well, and gave me a gift credit for their store for my troubles.

luckily $50 isn't a big deal to me right now and the video service seems decent so far (if not super basic to the point where I can't even see how long I have left on my sub, and don't trust them enough to add my second year in in fears that it will just make it a year from when I activate my second sub, making it a year and a day with two year subs instead of 2 years)

I ordered with them in the past though, and things went fine. they weren't quite as fast as rightstuf with everything, but i think it only took like a week for my stuff to show up.

Is C-Control any good? I've seen a little of episode 1 and it seemed interesting. I just noticed it's only 11 episodes though. Worth the price?

 
I picked up C-Control from Amazon last year for $24.  It's not bad, but my general thought is that there's a lot of other anime that you can buy for that same $34.  If you don't see anything else that interests you by the end of the sale then go for it, but if it comes down to needing to cut something in order to stay under budget then I'd give it a pass.

Ok, thanks for the feedback! Just knowing it was that much lower makes me want to pass lol. Maybe I'll pick it up if I see it that low then.

Still hoping for a sale on the Death Note boxsets.

 
Oh, those Blue Exorcist sub only DVDs... I think we all knew that anime would get a dub no matter what and it did. Now here I am with my appropriately priced Blu Ray version from the UK (part 2 hits this month though, woot).  :lol:

C-Control is basically if the Stock Market was a Digimon tournament. It has enough plot and visual flair to satisfy, but you need to know economics to get the most out of it.

Ah I c.. well I've graduated from college so I have the basic knowledge that goes along with the Economics classes that are required. Maoyu had some economics elements in the anime as well. I'm not sure if C-Control is more in depth than that, but Maoyu wasn't hard to follow so I guess I'd be ok.

Beck is one of my favorite shows ever. If you are a fan of music, it is a must watch. Pretty much my childhood dream in anime form lol.

 
I personally enjoyed C Control. It made economics cool for me, and I couldn't help snicker with their attack names. It's a shame the anime was only 11 episodes, and it will undoubtedly not have a sequel.  But like Roger said, get something else and get C Control on the cheap.

Alien Vs Ninja is great movie, you guys should give a chance its a good movie. I know its not anime, but a great movie nevertheless. At $11 for both DVD/ BR is a great price to get it.

Looks like Funimation is trying to up their offerings on the Limited Edition side.  Rightstuf has the preorder for Kamisama Kiss

I've never seen the series but I'm interested in seeing how this works out for them.  Pricewise this seems to be in between NISA and Aniplex offerings.  Also being a Funimation title this could potential be in next year's Amazon sales.

I'm not big on the collectible packages but I'd be interested to see what they do with Attack on Titan and The Devil is a Part Timer.

Limited to 2,500. I'm doubtful it would get a sale but then again, I don't know how popular the series is.

Big limited editions from Funimation is taking me back to 2005. Maybe NIS and Aniplex U$A influenced them to make pretty LE sets rather than just calling a LE a cardboard box and Part 1 of the series. Although, if they did this for their upcoming Attack on Titan release, they would seriously make a killing on it.

I got Beck for $12 during the FYE sale earlier this year and I have to agree with fish, it's fantastic. Think K-ON! with dudes, no moe, and a bit more... realistic. :p

Speaking animes similar to Beck, I just finished the first disc of Kids on the Slope on Blu. I'd highly recommend that anime as well. It's great so far.

I have mixed feelings about C... Parts of it were really well done, and on the other hand the action budget seemed to be about $500 total as it was either poorly animated during the action scenes or just cut to a super short scene barely covering what happened. It's a series I felt could have used some of it cut away in the middle, and expanded upon at other places... so basically I felt it was a decent concept, but not properly executed.

I don't really feel that kamisama had much of a following (in fact I was surprised funimation picked it up in general since there are a number of other more popular series in the same genre that they had skipped in the past)

I didn't managed to finish it, what i saw of it was alright, but rather forgettable.

 
Hmmm, that's another move that disappoints me Shawne (yeah, I know he doesn't actually read these).  So in the early waves they sold the two part Ghost Hound sets for $10 each.  Now, almost halfway through the 12 Days sale they added the complete sets to the sale.  Including a blu ray option that's only $10 more than those initial dvds.

Oops , meant to post this in the Right Stuf thread.  Oh well, anyone that reads one reads the other.

For me I had absolutely no interest in the earlier ghost hound stuff since it was sub only, the new set is hybird so I will likely pick it up. In general I don't buy anything until the 13th day though.
