 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

So I got my Blu-ray copy of The Girl Who leapt Thru Time today from Funimation, 1 week ahead of time. But I got no notice of shipping and the card I used hasn't been charged.

I got a free copy of Darker than Black Premium Edition from Funimation but not quite the same way - I cancelled my order only a week after it went up for pre-order on Funi's site, because I ordered it cheaper elsewhere, then 3 months later when it released Funimation shipped me a copy anyway, and never charged my card. Now I have two Premium Edition copies with that crappy packaging, lol...

I was speaking in MSRP.

And there are many reasons to get DVDs. I fault nobody for wanting to forgo Blu-rays.
You only said MSRP on the last set so I wasn't sure if you had seen the actual prices or not. And why get the inferior for the most part format when spend a little more and get the better if not best quality.

So is Rightstuf done using coupons for their sales? They have a Yen Press sale but I can't find no coupon for it. They did the same thing the with recent Funimation sale.

I believe that they've gone back to doing it the way they did before the site change by having the sale prices not depend on a coupon code anymore. That way you can stack two studio sales on the overlapping day.

---

Well, I ended up picking up quite a bit of stuff today as those sales all just sort of fell into place. I grabbed Nura Demon Capital 1 and 2 from BBY and AMZ because it finally hit a reasonable price. After paying less than $10 each for the first two sets, I had no interest in paying $80 for the last two. $40 is at least passable.

Heads up:

Apparently the Yen Press sale does use a promo code.  Somebody pointed out that the prices weren't right and I contacted C/S.  The code isn't listed on the banner page, it's listed at the top of the item page.

The code is YEN16

I already received my Moribito collection, it had gotten so hot I couldn't get the inner case out of the slipcover
Mine came the same way. I slipped the BB receipt it came with in-between the outer and inner cases to help slide it out.

The complete collection of E7 is coming for $70 so I'd prefer to pick it up now then try to wait for the complete collection drop

I used to be able to predict how low an anime release would likely end up going, but now I seem to be all over the place.  Several releases I thought would eventually hit $20 never did, and then some like this end up cheaper than I ever expected.

I blame the RS Christmas sales.

Yet, all of the Sentai sales this year have been leaps and bounds better than the entire last year's RS holiday sales. :*(

My last RS buy was one of their 25 for $100 deals... that's going way back. Anymore I can find anime cheaper elsewhere, and hentai much cheaper elsewhere. :( They're just not competitive, so fuckem.

RightStuf has a sale going on where if you buy DiGi Charat for $15, you can get Pita Ten for 50% off. Code is PITADIGI

If any of you have a Hastings or Movie Stop store near you, they're closing next month, so everything's on sale. New anime is 25% Off, while Used is 50% Off.

Hastings isn't closing. I haven't seen a single report saying they were closing.

Moviestop is closing but that doesn't mean Hastings is. The report said that they could be closing if they don't find someone to help get them stable financially. Although from the looks of it, it isn't good but still we don't know for fact that Hastings will be closed. Moviestop yes haha. But Hastings might be able to file Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and reorganize.

The reports that are out were this one.

And this one I found that is 3 days old.

I don't see things ending well for a relatively smaller company like Hastings I'm the long run. I think some companies would be wise to see where the market/industry is heading, and quit while they're still ahead if need be.
