I just came back from Projekt Revolution at Marysville, CA. My first concert.

I have to say it was a fucking blast! Hot as hell but really worth it.

All these bands were really good on stage, especially Saosin, Mindless Self-Indulgence, Placebo, Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, and Linkin Park.

And man, does Linkin Park Deliver! I cant believe how Chester keeps his voice from ripping to shreds singing and yelling those high notes for elongated periods of time. I also loved how LP switched up some songs with different melodies, like "Pushing Me Away" with a dramatic Piano Solo.

I've heard some bands suck Live, but LP does give the fans what they want. For my first concert, I definately got my money's worth.

Anybody else care to tell their recent outings to their concert of choice?

EDIT: Forgot to add some short crappy clips with my Cellphone from the concert. It includes short clips of Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance.

Last concert I went to was Conflict back in April. Amazing show, good to see they can still put on a good show after 20 years.

Should be seeing Leftover Crack, Witch Hunt, and a few others next Sunday, then after that Dropdead. Was gonna see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but the show sold out.

I've heard recordings of Linkin Park live.... they do not "deliver".. they sound like a high school Battle of the Bands contestant.

I saw Saves The Day and Say Anything back on April 29. It wasn't that great cause I wasn't really into those bands back then. If I were to see them now though, especially Saves The Day, I would be psyched. Saves The Day is my all-time favorite band.

Glad to hear you liked it. My gf and I went to an MCR concert in April in DC and we'll be going to the Projekt Revolution concert in VA in August. I'm going solely for MCR, but I also like Madina Lake, LP, MSI and TBS. MCR kicked ass in DC, but I already knew that considering I'm creepishly obsessed with them lol.

I paid quite a bit of money to get close up seats for the upcoming concert, but I'm not sure how the seatings going to work considering there's going to be two stages. I haven't been to a lot of concerts, this will be my second one.
Figures, the only good group at Projekt Revolution gets 35 minutes
MSI only got 35 minutes?! fuck! I'm going to the Projekt Revolution show on August 8th (I think) to see them again.

The last concert I went to was Nine Inch Nails last June.

Last concert I went to was Pearl Jam in July 2006. I've probably been to 300+ concerts in my day but I barely go anymore. I'm too damn old.

Projeck Revolution sounds like the worst tour ever, i practically hate every band on there.

Im going to Vans Warped Tour with a couple of people. Only like 2 out of 20 bands intrest me though. Also, im going to see Deep Purple on August 16th

I'm going to see Weird Al next Sunday. I think the last concert I went to was GWAR a couple years ago, my brother and I saw them in Myrtle Beach.
Yeah, too old, and there are very few bands coming near me I care enough to spend the money/time to see.
First concert was Suicidal Tendencies.

If anybody gets a chance to check out the "Rock-n-Roll Triple Play Tour" give it a shot. It's the Counting Crows headlining with Live and Collective Soul opening up for them each night. They are touring smaller minor league ball parks this summer. Tickets are on the expensive side at $49.50 each, but so far every stop ended up with buy 1 ticket get one free a few days before the shows.

 @ hating on this tour and going to Warped Tour.

I'd go to PR just to see MSI.

i've been to so many concerts between 2004 and 2006 but haven't gone to any since september of last year.............i miss those crazy things that happen at concerts lol

If you didn't go see Styles of Beyond, then you fail. Well, you saw My Chemical Romance, so you fail already, but you would fail less.
At least you saw MSI.

Last concert I went to was Public Enemy in April during SXSW, with X-Clan opening for them.
Public Enemy was great, especially the crazy nigger Flava Flave .

Next music festival I'm attending is ACL. So many good bands are going to be there  (although there is an annoying lack of hip hop).

MSI was very good. The singer is very quirky on stage. one of his last songs he put on some pink fairy wings and then started to proclaim "I'll beat all you motherfuckers at DDR cause I practice at home!"

EDIT: I saw something interesting here.....I spy with my little eye......

There is something about getting a little age on you that makes standing for 6 - 12 hours, being jostled in a crowd for a couple of those, being blasted by intense volumes, and getting home at 3 AM a little less appealing than when you were younger, isn't it?

Still, I try to fight through it. I try to go out to a local show every other month, more frequently if there's a decent draw, and I go to bigger shows when warranted. This year's been a little weak for me (a handful of local shows and Morrissey, which was transcendant), largely due to XBL. I was out a lot in '06, though.

One thing I've got to confess is that I've become the old guy at the shows with the earplugs. I was right up on the stage at a Queers show about two years ago and couldn't hear a damn thing for literally a day and a half, with a high pitched whir for another week or so. Pretty scary. Now it's hearos or bust.

That, and I refuse to do festivals any more.

First concert I ever went to was Nine Inch Nails, that was amazing.

Last concert I went to was Buckcherry. Not the most amazing concert but Buckcherry still kicks ass!

My most recent concert was Sage Francis, Prolyphic, and Macromantics this past November... it was a good show at a really small venue... I can't imagine more than 60 people were there, which made it a lot more enjoyable, especially with not having to maneuver through droves of people to see the stage (even when I saw Bright Eyes & Feist there were still fuckers crowd surfing and pushing every-which-way). It's probably the best concert I've been to in that regard, save for The Decemberists a couple years ago... I can't imagine any concert experience will top that one for me.

I went to Warped Tour on July 19th. It was the worst one yet because there was 1.no shade 2.no free water 3.hot and humid weather 4.dirt and no grass. I did enjoy the bands playing though.

The last concert I went to was System of a Down about a year ago. It was only 'ok', I'm not really a big fan of concerts. I did get to see a hot topless girl jump up and down though...

My first concert ever was a Weird Al concert, and that was when I was in 5th grade.

I've also been to one Warped Tour, and it sucked. I only went to hang out with friends. Every single band was terrible, and the entire place was literally a giant pit of mud. The only fun things I did were push and shove in a mosh pit and throw a bucket of french fies into a crowd.

Just the other day I had the chance to go to a Reel Big Fish concert, which would've been fun, but I would've had to go with a bunch of people I didn't know, so I went to see Transformers again instead.
I'd go to PR just to see MSI.
Same.

If the second stage is done before the main stage even starts, what's the point of having two stages?

My last show was when I saw Mirah about two weeks ago. It was really good.

the stages are quite different. One is small and another is fuckING HUGE. smaller stage is for the bands that just want to play for their little niche crowd while the bigger stage is for the bands that want to utilize the stage for special effects like fireworks, fire, motion background video....and a shitload of speakers for everyone to hear.
I went and saw less than jake, reel big fish, and streetlight manifesto at hard rock in orlando on wednesday.
Man I wish that tour came to Jacksonville. I saw Less Than Jake 2 nights in a row in February when they played 1 whole album and requests each night. It was amazing.

Saw Tommy Emmanuel recently (amazing guitarist), and will be seeing The Cure next week, really excited about that!

yea went to ozzfest a week ago. besides there being a shit load of crappy bands. The main 3 i wanted to see were fucking worth it. It was an awesome day.

GODSMACK back in may at the Fox in Atlanta. One of the greatest things my eyes have ever seen. Wanted to go to Family Values to see Hellyeah, Stone Sour, Korn, and Trivium, but just can't get myself to do it. Atlanta doesn't seem to have as many good concerts.
I saw Big Business on Thursday.. Going to see Behemoth and 3 Inches of Blood next Sunday. So stoked.
How was Big Business live?

Also, MSI may be my favorite band, but there's just no way I could sit through PR just for them.

I go to more bar/club shows. More intimate and most of the time better bands then then big concerts. :D The last concert I went to was Cake (not a great live band) in June and the last show was The Toasters back in May.
Going to see Behemoth and 3 Inches of Blood next Sunday. So stoked.
they were both amazing at ozzfest, i want to see them again! haha, enjoy though. 3IOB played Forest King O_O

Last one I went to was GZA + others performing all of Liquid Swords, who opened for Sonic Youth who performed all of Daydream Nation plus a 3 song encore with the bassist from Pavement. it was the first night of the pitchfork media fest in Chicago.

The sound sucked for GZA, but after they finished Liquid Swords, they encored with a shout out to ODB and did Shimmy Shimmy Ya. :) Sonic Youth was amazing as usual and seeing them play all of Daydream Nation was a dream come true, once in a lifetime kind of experience. :)
How was Big Business live?
They were great, sounded just like I thought they would.. I'd love to see them again, amazing drummer too. They were supposed to be here like 2 weeks ago, but they canceled so they could go get boo'd with Tool.
Last concert I went to: Daft Punk, July 21.
Their set-up/actual set kicked ass:
I was suposed to go to the one last night, I was too late on the tickets though.

Last concert I went to was MUSE back in April. Was a great way to kick off spring break.
Korn...but just can't get myself to do it.
Probably a good thing. Those get are supposed to get really violent. My uncle went to one. He got his hand broken while trying to rescue the guy next to him who got his neck broken. There was also some other guy that got his arm broken in a mosh pit that he didn't want to be a part of. Paramedics were called; my uncle never found out what happened to the guy with the broken neck.

Certainly doesn't sound like a good time to me.

All that matters is that I was killed by GWAR. Blood and penis juice all over is a great time no matter what anyone says.

I have an amazing one at the end of August:

Skarp
Witch Hunt
and the fucking SUBHUMANS.

Second time seeing Subhumans (third if you count Citizen Fish).
