Atlanta CAG Thread, v2.0

I don't know how many of you heard about this but the Play N Trade in Woodstock was robbed and set on fire Sunday, 9/29.  The owner, Troy Brazelton, suffered second and/or third degree burns while getting his employees out of the store.  From what I understand, he was in the burn unit at Grady for 12 days and was just recently released.  The store is currently shut down due to the fire, leaving Troy and his employees unable to work.  If you feel so inclined, there is a fundraiser to help Troy out with some of his expenses.  Hopefully he will be able to get healthy enough to get the insurance claims taken care of and get his store opened up again.  Even if the fundraiser isn't for you, I'm sure he would appreciate any business you could provide once he is able to open back up.  I don't know Troy personally but I have shopped in his store and his employees have always been very helpful to me.  I just thought some of you might like to know about this.

Wow, that sucks. Here's hoping his recovery goes well.

That really sucks to hear. Woodstock is bit of a drive for me so I've only been there a few times, but it was always well worth it. I hope they're able to recover.

Hey guys we are having a 3DS streetpass meet up this Saturday at 1pm at Cumberland Mall (https://www.facebook.com/events/445898665519557/). Figured I would post here because we are trying to get a larger group of people, there will be snacks, drinks, prizes, etc. We had almost 20 people last time, but kinda took pics too late into the meet up >.< All ages. Hope to see some of you there :)

Saw this in the $99 Best Buy Vita thread, maybe a couple of you can get there before the store closes

I convinced the manager at the Acworth, GA location to give it to me for 99.99. He showed me what it said in the system and apparently the device has been discontinued since August. He then announced over his headset that since its "best Buy New Years" (fiscal year end maybe?) that he was selling the rest of them for that price as a Deal of the Day.

I just PMd KMart's $10.80 price on SOUTH PARK: TSoT for PS3 at a WMart up here in Cumming. Just showed them the price on my phone. Easy peasy. Target didn't have it in stock--I checked there first.

Last time I tried to PM at Wal-Mart, it was at the one in Snellville. They told me they couldn't PM Best Buy because it had to "be a price from a weekly advertisement". WTF???

I just read that Northlake TRU is closing in about a month. Has anyone been by this week to check out the clearance status?

I'm especially interested in the LEGO situation.

If anyone sees an extra copy of the BBuy exclusive FURY ROAD Blu steelbook around, PLEASE grab it and I will buy it off ya. I missed out on this one. My nearest store only got in FOUR copies.

Last post was September 2015?  Wow, I miss the old days of this thread being so active. Scanning over the regional threads, most are pretty dead nowadays.  I moved away from Snellville in 2014, but have been back to visit occasionally.  Went by Fry's and Microcenter a week ago while I was in the area and it was disappointing to see how small their gaming sections have become.  I miss having so many more options to score deals that I used to have.

I'm sure a lot of people have started going more digital and from a sales perspective, most everything is on the national level. Definitely a sign of the times.

It's definitely a shame, jdawgg. It was fun having fellow ATL deal hunters looking out for each other and having a nice sense of community in here. They were nice days.

I travel to Atlanta frequently for work now.  I've probably been out there at least 1 week out of every month in the last year, sometimes 2 weeks per month.  When I went out there a few years ago (and we had the CAG meetup) I would do my usual CAG-ing by hitting up Blockbuster/Gamerush stores and trading stuff into Gamestop.   Now all I do is occasionally check out the clearance section of a single Target in Norcross.  I think I bought something there for $6 a few trips back...

It is kinda a shame; I live out by Douglasville (so Atlanta area) and I wish this thread was hopping more so I could know where some good retro deals are.

Oh well, maybe I can go thrifting out here sometime.
