Atlanta CAG Thread, v2.0

Same here. I loved it. It wasn't next to a mall or shopping center (hence the demise) and if you weren't looking specifically for it, you wouldn't see it due to traffic and the CONSTANT construction (I accidently passed it more than 6-10 times and I knew where it was located). It always had everything I needed. I bought my Apple Wireless N router from there when it was misspriced at $179 online (when it first came out). All the other BB would not honor it but this one did (I was getting the run around at the others about "online price"). They honored it, and the funny thing is, a day later the price went back up ($$) on their website. People must have hit them hard on that one!! I'm gonna miss it :(

Just to clarify, the Stone Mountain store is just RELOCATING. The same employees and all that will still be there, but it will be in Loganville now, so it's merely moving about 10 miles or so east on 78.
So good news/bad news clearance deal at Best Buy (this may only apply to jdawgg and a few others):

GOOD NEWS:

Best Buy Stone Mountain had clearance copies of Baja (360 & PS3) - $12; Pure (360 & PS3) - $18; Golden Axe: Beast Rider (PS3) - $18; Spyro DotD (PS3) - $12.

BAD NEWS:

Today is the last day the store will be open. It is moving to Loganville and will re-open on Friday. So, if any of those interest you, then you'll have to wait until Friday and go to Loganville.
Damn, I'm actually interested in Baja. I'd ask which one, but there both middling racers that I have a vague interest in since they're off road racing games. I can drive by Stone Mountain on the way from home, but now Loganville will be a little out of the way.
There were supposed to be 360, Wii, Xbox and PS2 games in clear cases, as in no original box and no instructions, for like $9.99. A few people across the country said they scored here and there, but the majority seemed out of luck. Too bad, because some of the reported 360 games like CoD4, GoW and some others I could've used...:bomb:
The Snellville store on Dogwood and the one on Steve Reynolds both had some 360 games and the snellville store had a bunch of GC and XBOX1 games. No good deals on the 360 games, mostly stuff you can find cheaper or about the same price with manual and cover art like VT3, Golden Compass, Just Cause, etc.

Target Johns Creek after the drops this morning. Only really paid attention to the 360 games.

Mercs 2 $7.48 (4 left)
Rock Revolution $9.98 (2 left)
Lego Batman $12.48 (1 left)
Viva Pinata Party $7.48 (1 left)
Too Human $9.98 (3 left)

Most of the others did not drop again this week.

GH Aerosmith still $19.98 (5 left)
Rockband Special Edition $69.98 (1 left)

I am still looking for Ace Combat 6...
Anybody looking for a deal on SF 4 i have it
Willing to trade you a Fallout 3 (Xbox 360) for that SF4.

Gah...wish I was near this target, Hell, I wish I knew where in the hell it was. I'd go for the Mercs 2 and Rockband Special (I'm assuming it has the instruments, right?). Ah well, guess I'll have to settle for Mercs 2 for $9.99 as a BB RZ thing.

Still wish I could find a dirt cheap Rockband, game only, new or used...my girlfriend keeps bugging me to get that instead of just playing my GH games because she claims RB is more "singer friendly".

Which one is John's Creek? Is it the one behind Fry's or is it the one in the middle of nowhere on Peachtree Parkway with a Bed Bath and Beyond and Home Depot near by?

Yeah the middle of nowhere Peachtree Parkway is Target Johns Creek. The one near Fry's is Target Milton.

BTW I left it off the list earlier, but Soul Calibur 360 did not drop again, they have about 4 copies left at $29.98.

Did they have any copies of Bolt (360)? If so do you remember the price?

Thanks, I'm going to check it out tomorrow. $17 for Too Human and Mercs 2 may be too low for me to pass up.

Yeah they had 1 or 2 copies at $14.98 at the Target Johns Creek. Should have made a list, but had to get to work...

Went to the Johns Creek Target looking for Lego Batman this morning. Gone :( They still had Mercs 2 but did not see Too Human or Bolt. Made the trek to the Cumming store, had 10+ copies of Fracture @ 9.98, few copies of Bolt but no Lego Batman. Spent two gallons of gas trying to please my son :) If anyone sees Batman @ 12.48 in the NE ATL/ Gwinnett area please list the store... Thanks!

Me too. Let me know if you find any!
mobile post:
Marietta 41 target
Too human $9
Fracture 360 $9
In the case stacked behind other titles.
Hmmm...Wonder if any of those Fractures are still there. I'm mildly interested in it. Anyone played it?

Went to the Target on Sandy Plains and Shallowford earlier tonight and they had a bunch of 360 Mercs 2 for $7.48 I think I grabbed the last copies of 360 Transformers for $7.48 and Fracture for $9.98, but I'm not sure. Was too busy concentrating on getting in and out since I walked into the store around 9:50PM, however I do remember seeing one copy of PS3 Spider-man Web of Shadows for I think $14.98 Oh and a stack of Brothers in Arms - Hell's Highway for 360 at $29.98

BTW anyone seen a 360 LEGO Batman besides the one at John's Creek? Has anyone noticed if Silent Hill 5 dropped below $29.98 or am I being impatient again?

Thanks

Edgewood Target last night had a bunch of Fractures (360), but they were still at $19.98. They had a couple of Last Remnants (360) for $29.98. Nothing to get excited about.

Answered my own question. There was one left. Thanks h3llbring3r!

Didn't see any more Too Human. There was an Unreal Tournament and one or two other things.

I am a big fan of Fracture. It has top notch graphics, an amazing arsenal of weapons and good music. The terrain deformation is cool and allows for some decent puzzles and such. It can be a bit frustrating at times, but overall it is fair. It is by the team that did Crimson Skies on the original XBOX. For $10 it is a steal.

Has anyone seen the Rock Band Track Pack vol.2 for PS2 clearanced at Target? I have seen the PS3 version tagged before. Would love to get the PS2 one for 7.48 like I did vol.1

First post here. Target on 92 in Woodstock as quite a few Tiger Woods 2009 ps3. $14.xx and Fracture ps3 $14.xx. I almost bought Fracture.

I've been keeping an eye out for this one too. I haven't seen the PS2 version on clearance so far at any of the stores I've gone to.
There had to be at least five or six Mercs 2 probably more
I grabbed one for myself and one for a friend. There are still 6 left.
I grabbed one for myself and one for a friend. There are still 6 left.
That's a steal. I had a lot of fun with that game, but got distracted and never finished it. If anybody wants to copy send me a FR.

Dang, I'd pick up the 360 Tiger Woods for that price. Seriously, with the way PS3 games drop in price faster than 360, I wonder if it would be cheaper for me to buy a PS3 and pay less for the games.

Weird question, but I've seen a few Targets that had the "Nancy Drew - Message in a Haunted Mansion" PC game on clearance for around $6.98

However, went to about four other Targets today and all of them had the game at the regular $9.99 price. What's up with that?

LOL! I constantly think the same way (about getting a PS3), but game price reductions on a specific console (and not another) is never a good sign for that console. I read recently that Sony stated the PS3 will have a 10 year life span like the PS2 and I almost fell out of my chair. It's like what Wombat stated a while ago "It seems they just don't want to sell consoles". In the end their underestimating XBL will be their undoing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a 360 fanboy, but the way these prices are dropping on these PS3 games gets me a little nervous. Eventually, publishers will get it, and you won't see a Tiger Woods 12 or a GTA VII for the PS3. Also, them keeping around the PS2 (with some models of the PS3 not being backwards compatible) isn't helping their cause either.

I don't know...I'm not really worried about the PS3 folding. Developers can't ignore it...it still has a market across the world, just nowhere near the domination of the PS2. For me, I just don't want another system. I really do love my 360....probably my second favorite console ever (SNES rules!) and I'd prefer to play almost any game on that system anyway. It has the exclusives that I really want and the features that I enjoy the most (Xbox Live, Netflix, built-in headset, XBLA). And when I got a new home theater setup last year, I couldn't even bring myself to get a PS3 for the Blu-Ray, instead going with another Blu-Ray player that was cheaper and had IR built in. Still, the exclusives are starting to mount up and many of them are dropping in price as well...a price drop to $300 might seal the deal.

Just wanted to say that I agree with everything here. I never thought I'd love my 360 as much as I do and I still hold the SNES of my youth in high regard.
I've seen a couple "industry analyst" folks say that they anticipate a drop on the 80g PS3 to $299 this spring but what do they know. Time will tell I guess.

There were some $10 Fractures at Northpoint tonight.

Also, they had two endcaps of space heaters at 75% off! I bought a two-pack for $10. Woo! Check 'em out if you're cold.

If anyone is interested, Wal Mart on Howell Mill might have broken street date on Halo Wars. There were 6 LEs stacked over where the DDR games were across from the glasscases, none were marked and all had the "do not sell before 3/3" sticker on them. Didnt know if they were just left there by an unpacking employee or what, but I removed all the "sell by" stickers on them. Took one to the kiosk scanner and it rung up as 79.99, so its in the system. If they are still there, you could probably grab it when the clerks not looking and take it up front to the uscan checkout and have it 4 days before it streets! I did this around 6pm, so if you are headed there at midnight to snag killzone, keep an eye out for those LEs if you are interested in HW.

Some nice deals on DS games at MicroCenter this week: Tom Clancy's Endwar, Robocalypse, and Monster Lab all at $9.99. Don't know about the others, but Robocolypse is supposed to be a pretty decent little strategy title.

Picked up TW 09 and Far Cry 2 from Woodstock Target today, two TW's left as of noon.

Took a flyer on FC2, it was rated well on IGN. Can't believe they dropped Feherty. That blows.
Not sure if everyone saw the following. Basically buy xbox or xbox live and get a Watchman movie pack (2 tickets / exclusive xbox content).

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215776

Went to Best Buy Cumming after work today. Picked up 1 month xbox live and the Watchman movie pack for $8 something with tax. Grab them ASAP if you are interested, I won't be surprise if they adjust the promo.
I didn't think this was supposed to start until this Sunday (3/1). Am I mistaken?

Officially, it's Sunday. With this kind of thing, though, a lot of stores end up putting the merch out on the floor as soon as they get it.
I didn't think this was supposed to start until this Sunday (3/1). Am I mistaken?
Promo is in the system already and it works. YMMV on whether the store has them out already.

Thanks man. In for 1, lets hope this doesn't get abused.
What did the display look-like and where was it?

LinkinPrime just confirmed it's also live in Cali. It must be live national then, just gotta find the display out. To BBy I go!
That's a pretty good deal, but don't most (all?) theatres not take passes for the first couple of weeks that a movie is out?
The free movie tickets that come with DVDs/games and such are usually "movie cash" kinds of things, which aren't considered "passes," and thus are accepted in "no passes" situations. THAT SAID, a LOT of theaters don't like to/refuse to take "movie cash." I've had more than one tell me they can't get their money back from the studio or whoever, so they don't take them. So, call ahead to make sure if you plan to use it. The timing shouldn't matter, though.

Last I checked (when Ocean's 13 came out), Regal theaters took movie cash.

Regal takes them, AMC does not. In Kennesaw at least, I'm pretty sure AMC is getting Watchmen. GA Theater Co. is YMMV from my last experience. I had 2 passes for a movie and they took the first one but not the second on another visit. I'm not sure about other chains.

I'm glad to be wrong. In Kennesaw, Regal will be getting Watchmen and Regal does take Hollywood Movie Money. Has anybody been by the Acworth or Kennesaw stores and seen the Watchmen packs? I'm curious about how many they have.
