I'm 16 and started on FFVII right after it went Greatest Hits back in late 98(?). Skipped VIII, borrowed IX, got X, tried a little X-2, played plenty of XI, and eagerly await XII and XIII.

I'm 25. Started with the original Final Fantasy on NES, which I think was released in 1990? So when I was 9. Thought it was the greatest game ever, until I played both II and III on SNES. Played VII on the PC and enjoyed it, but it didn't compare to the SNES versions. I think I played ten minutes of VIII on PC but hated it, and that's the most recent one I've played.
Stupid Square being in bed with Sony.

Im 25, started with Final Fantasy I, which I got after playing Dragon Warrior I. Got Dragon Warrior 2 right after I finished Final Fantasy I.
Its kind of funny how most people who start at I seem to like VI the best (myself included), however, people who start at VII or later still thin4-1997 k VII was the best. If Square-Enix could get off their butt and realize that 1994-1997 was the pinnacle of this series (also the time frame when Chrono Trigger was released), maybe they would make a FF that integrated the best parts of both games (Deep characters, lots of side quests, villians that win, great seconday villians etc). Final Fantasy IX was the closest to copy this formula, the game just seems like it gets lazy in certain parts and the world shrinks dramatically halfway through.

you Square!".I am 25, started with FFI on the NES. I have played all of the games besides FFIII,X-2 and XI. I really like the older ones, but enjoyed FFIX a lot. More than FFVII. Didn't care for VIII and think FFT and FFTA are some great times. I can't wait for FFXII. The demo in DQVIII sold me. Some hated it, I loved it.
