I was in an Ebgames trading for Wipeout Pure earlier today when the manager mentioned that Crystal Chronicles dropped to $9.99. I wasn't interested, but figured I'd see a post or a $9.99 price at EB.com.

Therefore, treat this as unconfirmed for the time being.

*Edit*
As mentioned by others, this deal is confirmed! Final Fantasy Chronicles NEW $9.99 There is also a $5 Pricegrabber rebate as well.

Enjoy!

Now online!

For all you New Yorkers, 8 copies left at NYC at 84th St. and 3rd Ave. Non left at Rockefeller or 71st and 3rd. They're not getting anymore in stock (or so they told me).

Great game, played to player last night with GBAs and was tons of fun!

It appears to be gone from the online site entirely - search only brings up the used version for $19.99... Does anyone have a direct link to the new version page, or is it really, truly, gone?

Ugh the EB near me had like 8 copies... yet the clerk still tried to pawn one of those "display" ones on me, sliding it into the bag covertly while I counted my change. When I politely asked for a "brand new" copy she shot back "that is new... it's never been played". I just paused and said whether it's been played or not doesn't matter, it's still not sealed and besides I can see that you have plenty of sealed copies left. She huffed and grabbed me a sealed one from the case and swapped packages with me. As I was leaving she was like "just so you know... I shouldn't even do that... what you got was new." to which I replied "I don't mean to be mean about this but if I brought in a game with all sorts of stickers on it and a flimsy plastic seal, called it new and asked for my money back you'd laugh in my face. So in the future you should tell people before you do that sort of thing." To which she just turned around and went back to other customers. I've had this happen before but only when it was the last copy they had, which is fine by me. The fact that she tried to pawn one off on me when they had other brand new copies was just insulting and her attitude was totally uncalled for.

But aaaaaaaanyway thanks for the deal and I hope other people are faring better than I am!

I was all over this one. I literally ran to EB and picked one up. I’ve been waiting for over a year for this to drop to under $20. Yeah!

That is just the rule of thumb for the attitude at EB. The only exception is if you get an employee who realizes how dumb it is to act like that. I have had to deal with it (as well as most anybody on this site). And it is just crazy. They just have to open a new one and put it on display once they get rid of the display one. She was just the average retard hired routinely by EB and GS.

The CAG-O-Matic is a great tool for finding links like this.

Thanks (though now the link says it is no longer available). I went to the Washington Square mall in Tigard, OR and the EB there had the sealed copies sitting out on a shelf with a $9.99 price tag under the shelf. I have *never* seen sealed real games sitting out in the open at an EB or GS before - very strange. They had at least 30 of them! They also had XIII for $2.99, though I think I got the last one of those (not sealed). Thanks to the OP and whoever mentioned XIII! I'm glad I couldn't find FFCC on the web site because I was able to get it without shipping (and no tax here either).

Clerk said she thinks the price is good just through this weekend, so if any Portland area CAGers want one, there's plenty to be had there if you go soon. Clackamas Town center was out yesterday - I got the last one which was an opened display copy (or so they told me - after reading the posts above I guess I'm not 100% sure). I picked up a couple more at Washington Square - one sealed copy for myself and 2 more to pad out my last remaining Gamerush trades (got to dilute those Powerpuff Girl Relish Rampages with something!).

Funny when I called them from work when I posted that it was online, the 71st and 3rd claimed no copies. Ended up picking one up one my way home at the Queens Center Mall, where the clerk was real cool and held a copy for me for the day.

Odd that they would have none ~3 days ago and all of the sudden have 7. Makes you wonder if they are new or "new."

picked up my copy last night at CC for $6.29; PM plus + gamepck discount? also got mk:deception for $25.19, so it all works out. thanks OP, and the awesome CC rep, too!

it's showing up for $29.99 now.

priced changed already?

I could go B&M, but I am preferring to be shipping it to someone.

I bought it at Eb and the employee gave me a used one, i said i thought it was 9.99 for new and he said "It is new we just store them in this box" and he pulled out the disc and put it in the gc case and when i went home and opened the bag, it smelled like shit for some reason. If I didn't trade this in at gamerush I would of been pissed but oh well it was for trade in so it didn't really matter.

That's exactly why I avoid EB whenever possible. My local EB is about the same way. It's like they open every single sealed game they get before they sell them. They should only do that with one copy, the display copy. You ask for a game and they get the display copy for you and then put another "new" game out for display. Forget that. I'll go to TRU, Walmart, and CC before I try EB.

I just picked it up at the Moorestown, NJ store for $10. Still had plenty of sealed copies.
Confirmed over, or confirmed good?
Confimed good...rang up $9.99
Sorry for the confusion.

BTW, thanks OP

I returned my shitty repackaged copy today (sticker under the syran wrap quality shrink wrap what the hell), indeed ALL 10 of the "sealed" copies they had were that way. What an awful, awful policy. It's going to take A LOT for me to return to EB.

From the store. I was too stupid and just asked for a "sealed copy". I had no idea they resealed their "new" display copies, and didn't think to look before I left.

Tonight I price matched at Circuit City. I showed him my return slip from EB and that was proof enough for him, $10.61 or something. I either got a lazy employee or CC has some sweet lax price matching rules (I thought he would at least call to confirm price/availability seeing as it wasn't an ad but rather a RETURN SLIP).

Yeah, Circuit City rocks.
you got robbed, sweetcheeks. you should have gotten 110% of the difference.
Only get that if you buy from CC and then find an advertised price cheaper at some later date...

wrong

If you've seen a lower advertised price from another local store with the same item in stock, we want to know about it. Bring it to our attention, and we'll gladly beat their price by 10% of the difference. If you see a lower advertised price (including our own sale prices) within 30 days of your purchase, we'll refund 110% of the difference.

those are independant statements.

you just got yourself p-p-p-pizza 0wned.

You only get 110% if you find the price after purchasing. You get the difference off if you present at purchase. Thus, you aren't getting 110% of the difference back, you get 10% of the difference off the advertised price. mdm got the differenc already, so only the 10% of the difference was lost. Not 110% as you said...

If anyone in the Raleigh, NC area is looking for this game, it's $9.99 @ the Capital Blvd EB. The other area stores haven't dropped the price.

When they repackage one, do they just use one of the melted plastic resealers, or can they actually make the package look like one of the present-style plastic wraps that Nintendo does (ends folded neatly)?

Sorry if this description isn't very clear.

It lasted for a good while, at least.

FYI, mine was factory sealed/brand new, as far as I can tell. I haven't opened the plastic yet, but the game looks mint inside it, the plastic is the professional kind folded correctly, and all that.

I ordered mine online on Mar 27th, along with 5 other games, but this one and Maximo have yet to come. It's never happened to me before, but does eb ship large orders seperately when you use 'SAVER' shipping?

What is strange is the stock they have on this game (ie, enormous quantities). One EB that had them out on a shelf with a tag saying "$9.99" during the sale pretty much got cleared out. But then I was in there today looking for some of the $5-$10 PS2 games (like Echo Night Beyond which they didn't have) and they had restocked the shelf with about 40 more copies - but they were back at $29.99. Very strange to see real games (instead of empty cases) sitting out at an EB like that. I guess they are there for the Gamecube bundle deal.
