The main event for No Way Out was announced at the SD tapings:

Cena & HBK vs Batista & Undertaker

I'd actually watch that, IF the damn bars by me still showed ppvs.

Also from the spoilers it looks like we'll be seeing the following matches as well:

Boogeyman vs Finlay
Kane vs Booker T
Deuce & Domino vs London & Kendrick

I'd expect Benoit and Mr. Kennedy to get matches as well.

A homemade video for the Ghoul song "Bury the Hatchet." I happen to be a big fan of Ghoul, and find the wrestling on this video mostly repulsive. Chances are, you'll feel the opposite way I do.

Kip James walked into the studio. Here are the highlights (the full 30 minute interview can be heard for free on the Showdown.net site).

Kip commented on Cena using the Fame-Asser on the Rumble PPV. Kip said Cena steals a lot of stuff but it is okay since Cena "is limited."

Most of the VKM material is from BG James and Kip themselves. Vince Russo, who is writing at TNA basically lets VKM do their own thing without getting too involved.

The hosts reminded Kip that their airwaves are Internet-only (every Sunday night live at 11PM EST. on Showdown.net) and he was free to curse, this was when Kip seemed to really get comfortable.

Kip made some bold statements. Kip said "When you've seen one X Division match you have seen them all."

Kip says he is a huge General Hospital fan and that [WWE] wrestling has gotten away from the cliffhangers that make people want to watch week to week. The hosts take WWE's side and say TNA drags their angles out too long. Kip says TNA has a much smaller fan base so it takes longer for the mass of fans to grasp the storyline. Because of this, it is important for TNA not to move their angles as fast as WWE.

Kip says Vince McMahon's ego will not allow himself to comment on VKM on WWE TV. Kip says Vince probably "loves" the angle since it was Vince's own original ideas being reversed on him.

Kip puts over LAX.

Kip says TNA gives the fans too much in one hour and they are not leaving the fans wanting more the following week.

Kip says TNA is wasting Bobby Roode. Kip says Roode is going to be a HUGE star and it WON'T be from TNA because "they don't know how" [to push a guy]. Kip jokes that he is probably going to get fired tomorrow at the TNA tapings for what he says in this interview. {Note to TNA officials: Kip's attitude towards TNA was much more friendly than how Kid Kash was in that "other interview" I recapped two years ago that seemed to cause a lot of trouble in your office}.

Kip says he has heat with Rico (former WWE wrestler).

Kip says he would "leave TNA in a heartbeat" if WWE offers him enough money. Kip says he actually left WWE on good terms and was just victim of WWE wanting to refresh the locker room. Kip said he was in WWE for 13 years.

Kip said he won a lot of things in WWE but it didn't mean shit. Kip talks about his feud with The Rock and jokes about being mad at him because he didn't get his copy of Gridiron Games in the mail yet.

Kip says women have no place in the wrestling ring. Kip said Miss Texas and Luna are the only two that could wrestle like guys. Kip said he didn't like Lita after the hosts put her over. Kip says adding the "ugly ass" girls of TNA to a new women's division would be a big waste of TNA's already limited time.

Kip says the addition of Kurt Angle to TNA is a good thing for TNA. The hosts mention the upcoming "all WWE main event" of the TNA PPV and Kip said he really doesn't want to see it and that he will probably drive home before the match even starts. Kip said he doesn't even remember when the next TNA PPV is taking place.

Kip talked about an encounter earlier that day with the local cheerleaders from the Arena Football League and a funny road story about an auto accident involving him and BG James that Ken Shamrock and Vince McMahon got involved in. The interview ended and Kip jetted out of the studio for his flight to Florida for the TNA tapings the next day.

What the hell, would he really go back to WWE? And why hasn't someone started using the fame-asser? Despite all of Billy Gunn's short-comings that was a good finishing move.

Is there any way we can set up a donation fund for Sabu to "accidentally" blast Holly in the face with a chair? Hell, let's do it for Balls. He probably needs the money.
That video is awesome... I like my wrestling to have lots of shit breaking and exploding.
For some odd reason I knew you would say this word for word.

I might have to order No Way Out. That might be a good PPV. So far from the spoilers it looks more compelling than the next TNA PPV that's for sure.

EDIT:

Kip says he would "leave TNA in a heartbeat" if WWE offers him enough money. Kip says he actually left WWE on good terms and was just victim of WWE wanting to refresh the locker room. Kip said he was in WWE for 13 years.

Please leave TNA there Billy Gunn. That way TNA can end that horrible VKM shit and perhaps start putting.... you know..... wrestling back on TV. Oh wait... nevermind. Forgot who was booking here folks. Nevahmind me.
Yeah, most of that was crap, but really, I hated the song more than any of it.
 I figured someone would.

I liked the song... not really a fan of metal, however I like that song Sleep by Draganaut... yeah um anyway. Was the WSX last night the same one they aired Friday? If so.. glad I didn't miss anything. Looking forward to TNA this week.. and as usual overestimating it. Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles might be good... doubt it'll come close to any of their previous matches though. That Styles/Joe/Daniels 3-way dance was one of my favorites matches EVAR.

Oh and Kip is a douche. Has a few valid points though... TNA really has no room for chicks wrestling with the current time frame. I'd love for him to leave TNA, him and BJizzle are a waste of space.

If anyone's watching WSXtra on MTV, it's Human Tornado, Puma, and Luke Hawks in a three way dance that's been reviewed as the best match of the pilot.

Interesting to note, the matches on the pilot were taped almost six months before the rest of the season. If anyone wants (or hasn't already seen them on the net), I'll type up the match previews for next week's show.
Were they shown on MTV, or just MTV.com?
The WSXtra is shown on MTV.com (I believe it's actually wsx.mtv.com). Seeing as WSX only gets a half hour show, they've got WSXtra to show a dark match and help set up some angles.

Here's the matches lined up for next Tuesday's show (not sure what all will be shown on TV, as some of these will probably make the WSXtra online show).

The Human Tornado vs. Luke
Masato Toshino & Genki Horiguchi vs. That 70's Team (Joey Ryan & Disco Machine)
Matt Classic (Colt Cabana) vs. Matt Sydal
The Trailer Park Boys (Nate Webb and Josh Abercrombie) vs. Do It For Her (Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black)
Vampiro vs. 6-Pac for the WSX Title

I'm stoked to see the PWG boys on TV (Joey, Disco, and Tornado). Good for them.

Anyone know how to get presell passwords and when they will go live? Tickets for Raw in Indianapolis go on sale Feb 10th, but if there is a presell I would love to get in on it.

Not guaranteeing anything, but give "CENA" a try.

Were the matches edited like the TV broadcast?

So it's just on the site, like I thought. When you said it was "on MTV", I thought maybe the network had shown something extra.
Were the matches edited like the TV broadcast?
Not sure. I didn't watch it (for whatever reason, the site runs way slow on a Mac). I read a review on it from SoCalUncensored.
Were the matches edited like the TV broadcast?
Edited for time? I don't think so. Edited for ridiculous shots of the crowd every 5 seconds? Yes.

http://www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn/wsx/series.jhtml?source=TLD_wsx.mtv.com

You can catch it there. The match itself was good, but there was no fixed camera. So every shot is from a ringside camera which I don't really care for. That said, I'd like to see more matches like this (with the commentators sedated and the gimmick "weapons" nonexistant).

BTW, what the fuck is up with that guy introducing the clips? I hate him.
BTW, what the fuck is up with that guy introducing the clips? I hate him.
He's the ring announcer. He apparently thinks that the "X-treem Casey Kasem" voice is a good one to go by. He couldn't be more wrong.

Is that Lacey from ROH doing the intros with him?
Is that Lacey from ROH doing the intros with him?
yup

Also, looks like TNA has forced Joe to leave RoH.

"I'd like to start this off by saying thank you. Thank you to the Ring of Honor fans. Thank you to the Ring of Honor loyalists. For all those who helped make this grow and become what it is today and for those that will continue to help this grow and become bigger and better in the days to come. It has come to light that my tenure here in Ring of Honor will soon be coming to an end. As most of you know, a great deal of my heart, a great deal of my soul, a great of who I am as a wrestler, as a person is linked to this promotion and what I've done in it. I started out in Southern California and did my best to hone my skills, but Ring of Honor was the place where I go to display that. It was the place where I got to go out and be Joe and that's all I had to be. The past three years, three plus years, hell, damn near four now, I've called this place home. I have proudly carried its banner and I've proudly displayed my work here to all those who would see it. So, in light of that, I am making an announcement that the Samoa Joe Farewell Tour will begin on February 16th and will end in Liverpool, England. I will have my final match as a regular part of the Ring of Honor as a wrestler. I've made a lot of promises and I've said a lot of things, especially into this camera, but I promise you this, I came into this company to do a mission - to wrestle my ass off, to give my best at all times for the best fans in the world. I promise you this Ring of Honor fans, in my final run here, my final string of matches that I will leave with this promotion, I will give you my best. I will give you my greatest. I promise you. I will give you my all. Unfortunately, circumstances and time move on, and so much I. Ring of Honor's always been a promotion about new talent, new people, a new breed of wrestling. Trends aren't followed here, trends are made and now I leave the trends, the edginess, the realness of pro wrestling for those here on this roster. Ring of Honor was a huge part of my life and always will be. I hope you will join me and the rest here as I'm forced to say farewell to a company that I love. Thank you. I am Samoa Joe. I love pro wrestling and I leave it all here, in Ring of Honor."

Sucks that Joe won't be around for the WM weekend shows. Oh well, if you didn't see this coming, you're nuts. He had to pick one or the other eventually.

Put Billy Gunn right behind Bob Holly on the "I hope you die painfully" list. What a fucking dildo. He has offered absolutely nothing in his long, boring decade plus of employment. The peak of his career was the equivalent of yelling "YEAH, ME TOO!" into the mic after Road Dogg did all the work. Wow, what an amazing talent.

Roh Video Wire
Jeez. To think that the 2/24 ROH show was the first I was considering not attending, this suddenly makes the show a must-attend. It will be my last chance to see him live until TNA gets into advanced house shows (I don't think that Cincinnati is even close to the top 25 markets to get into).

That said, he is facing Jimmy Rave, someone whose existence in this business at this level is beyond my comprehension. He has no physique, no ability, and just fucking stinks up the ring - he's like the X-Pac of Ring of Honor. At least Prince Nana could cover for his shittiness - now he's totally exposed.

I like Kip even less now.

Seems like it's all about "the business" with that dickhead -- well, his business, that is. ($$$)

Someone asked about the Raw/Nitro simultaneous telecast when they switched.. I have the last Nitro, but I don't have that Raw. I found the DVD that has the last Nitro on it just now.

That's an interesting thing about wrestling fans - we all want to see what wrestlers really think and say - to hear them "shoot." Yet, we get mad when Kip James or Teddy Hart acts like a fucking bastard.

I'm in the same boat - I could respect Kip James if he was just a "businessman" and said he'd return to WWE for the money, or if he was just an asshole happy to be in the business at all anymore. but, for him to act like he's king shit of fuck mountain when he could die tomorrow and nobody would know (and fewer care), it's annoying to see that he has an ego.

The 1.0 rating for WSX is incredible - no one expected it to do that well. Meltzer said he'd be surprised if it got a 0.7, and Bryan Alvarez said the same. I figured it'd maybe get a 0.6 if it was lucky, but a 1.0!? Good lord, they drew a better rating than TNA has for about 98% of its Impact shows, and without much promotion on MTV. Wrestling Society Xtra is up with an 8 minute match and logical booking with a Luke vs. Puma vs. HUMAN TORNADO match - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPNXq0Tphb0

We'll see how well it holds up - TNA's ratings have been stagnant around 1.0 since they started, and ECW has gone from 2.5-3.0 at launch to 1.3-1.5 these days.

I can't wait 'til TNA has their PPV here in Michigan.

I'll finally be able to wield a "VINCE MCMAHON IS BISEXUAL!" sign, and probably get on T.V.

Then I'd go home, download the torrent and take a screenshot of myself. It'll be epic...

It looks like Impact is now available on the marketplace in case anyone cares ( I may download the Impact special from Nov. though I wish they had the April one).

yes!!!! thank fucking god!!!! time to support tna on there

TNA is not in high def. fuck.

Episodes up are 10/19, 1/24, and 11/30.

I don't know how much this will do for them. They should put together special programs or something for the marketplace. I don't see many people ponying up money to watch a regular episode of Impact. Most people probably don't even know what the fuck it is, they should have put up a highlight episode for free.

i didtn expect them in hi def though but woulda been sweet...

now to pick which episodes are worth it

they seem to have all the episodes from this year and 30+ from last year

It'll probably do them more good than bad, but I agree: there should be a free highlight episode to reel people in.

I mean, they'd probably get a featured download if they did that.

(TNA gamerpics would rule, too.)
yea they need to throw something out there.....

Whatever one had Angle's first match (Angle vs. Abyss) was pretty good.

Not bad, but I can REALLY do with out all those unnecessary crowd shots.

nice that 11/16 episode is 82 mins and for the same price..

thats the first prime time episode

dl'ing now

It's a subliminal editing trick. Show the happy faces of the crowd so the audience at home thinks they should enjoy it, too.

There are 43 episodes available and they go back to may of 06. Search under action adventure.

And no wrestling is in high def. KaneRobot. Wrestling companies are scared that botches and missed punches will look a hell of a lot worse. Vince experimented with it a while ago, but I don't know what the results of it were.
