According to PWInsider, the current discussion for WrestleMania 23 is
WWE Champion John Cena vs. Undertaker, Batista vs. HBK, Lashley vs. Holly, and Edge vs. Orton. This is not official and could change many times over the next few weeks.

Well time to make one of those "If Cena wins we riot" signs. Vince better take that seriously too, it is Detroit afterall.

I couldn't care less about the ECW title match, I still maintain Umaga would be the best opponent for Lashley, but oh well.

The 4th match on that has real potential. No DQ dammit, falls count anywhere, a Detroit street fight (minus the guns).
I hate GMs anyway, so who cares? Raw doesn't have a GM.
SD still has a GM, and as Genocidal said Coach is pretty much GM on Raw. So, either do away with the gimmick alltogether or put someone as the mouthpiece of ECW to put them on par with the other brands.

I do find some comedy/irony/sadness in the fact that both Raw & SDs GMs are African-American in a company that has featured predominantly white male authority figures. Hell the whole roster has finally started to get a little diverse, as opposed to the days when you had at max 3-5 minorities total, and that's including Tito Santana, Iron Sheik, and Jimmy Snuka. Although, then you have Farooq going around and cutting his one word promos, Shelton complaining he gets treated the way he does cuz he's black, and I won't even get into Cryme Time. How the hell did I get in on this rant anyway?

This is as close to a plug as I'll ever come on this forum cause I don't like promoting myself, so I'll only do it once. I'm doing a live radio show tonight, however....it'll have little to nothing to do with wrestling. It will be gaming, movie, and geek shit related, so there may be interest here, I dunno. Anyway, it's the first and ONLY time I'll mention it. here's the info if you want to be a part of it.

Thanks for your time.

And yeah, I hope like hell that if that IS correct on the WM matches, Cena better drop the title.

I watched Impact again for the Daniels promo that I missed.. maybe Daniels is the consultant? What better way to "find purpose" than to screw over the very same man that injured him about a year ago?

Hey guys quick question, whats Smackdown's current theme song called? Where it starts "I want it all, yadda, yadda" Google keeps saying Drowning Pool but that was the one before.

The consultant is supposed to consult Christian on how to beat Angle... not Joe.
The consultant is supposed to consult Christian on how to beat Angle... not Joe.
Shows what I know, huh? Still.. could happen.

Benoit/Finlay...that's how you start a show. I've seen them matched up several times but it's not even close to getting old.
You know, I think one way to grab fans is to have someone win the title that you would think never would win it WWE. THey need a true Buster Douglas moment. No six month buildup to a match, no hype, no internet discussion of an angle and whether or not the guy is worthy of a title run.

For example, John Cena is champ. All of a sudden he has a match with Val Venis. Everyone already knows that Val will lose. But, they book the match so that Val gets a clean win and the title. Now something like this should be used sparringly, but I think it is necessary considering how obvious storylines and angles are to most fans now.
I would really, really enjoy that.
Why the fuck did they have to ruin that great match by bringing in the Boogeyman?
Agreed. What a waste.
Why the fuck did they have to ruin that great match by bringing in the Boogeyman?
To spark a new feud, probably.

I think the match was near its end, anyway. (In other words, Benoit would have won regardless.)

I really liked King Booker's skit tonight, but I still think they should do away with that silly gimmick already.

King Bookah!

 @ Jillian "Britney Spears without the trailer park." - JBL

And Good Lord @ Krystal in a bikini. :hot:

Vince, HBK, and Cena appearing were fantastic surprises, but I'm irked that SD's main event was an interview, and that the World tag champs didn't wear the belts.

Tuesday's WSX show was on MTV last night, apparently - argh! the goddamned tivo cut off about 1-2 minutes before the show ended because MTV can't be trusted to conform to a top-and-bottom-of-the-hour schedule (because they're so extreme).

MUCH better show tonight. Human Tornado versus Luke Cox. Tornado's alright, perhaps I don't get it. Well, I *do* get it, but I just don't think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Much less of the "here's a crowd shot because we don't know how to edit matches very well" work that dominated last week.

Team Dragon Gate versus That 70's Team, which was quite good.

Vampiro versus 6-Pac for the WSX title (which looks like the jeweler used the Steve Austin WWF title as a template). Didn't get to see the end of this match, and I didn't do spoilers for this, so I don't recall who the champ is. Then again, since it's not "really on" until Tuesday, I'm tryin' not to ruin anything.

They had a good opportunity to create the Trailer Park Boyz team, but the guys in the promo both sucked and didn't take it seriously. The Filth and the Fury (Teddy Hart and M-Dogg 20) had a good short promo, and Hart's legendary attitude adds something to that. They'll face off against the Trailer Park Boyz on the 2/13 WSX episode.

Haven't watched SD! yet, but I'm getting around to that now.

I saw that match. It was pretty fun overall. I fell asleep on the rest of the show though.

WSX is awesome. That's really all there is to it.

I thought last week's show was awesome, and this week's is better? I can't wait.

I thought the new WSX was pretty good. Team Dragon Gate vs. That 70's team was a really fun match and the commentators were toned down, so it was enjoyable.

Are they doing early previews for next week's episode already?

M-Dogg 20 could be a breakout star here. I've actually known him for a long time - he's a hometown guy, and I used to go watch him work in the backyards and BWF (if anyone has his and Josh's DVD, his crazy dive in the gym is from the BWF). Interesting to note, it was originally going to be England's PAC wrestling in his place in this tag team - they were going to work a Sex Pistols gimmick with Hart and PAC.

I loved that the second episode had just as many matches as Impact (3), and about as much in-ring action, plus it got over far more characters, and had Dragon Gate guys on it, along with men who get their own disco ball. As wacky, zany wrestling, I doubt WSX can be topped. It's far from a perfect wrestling show (matches are too short, crowd shots and camera shifts are excessive), but they cram a lot into an hour, and the online WSXTra featured a decent 8 minute three way with stuff you'll never see on Impact or on WWE programming.

The Trailer Park Boyz intro video was hilarious, and Joey Ryan needing to use an inhaler mid-ring is the best new spot on national TV in '07. I demand that it be copied by anyone in WWE who cannot go five minutes on-air without blowing up. That '70s Team having their own disco ball AND midget to hold up said disco ball while they boogie was awesome, too. Goddamn I love that '70s Team. They should so be on SD feuding with Deuce and Domino. I also dug the title belt they used for the Vampiro-Pac match. It's like the bastard child of the Smoking Skull and final ECW TV belts.

I love WSX with a passion after the second show - it's not the greatest thing on Earth, but goddamn is it a fun way to spend a half hour. It looks like they're going to keep doing these early airings, which I love, as watching it after SD is more convenient than watching it while ECW is happening, plus, there's something cool about seeing it three days ahead of the regularly-planned debut.

Here's a big pile of SD quotes -

Cole - 15,000 have jam packed this arena
JBL - I SOLD OUT ANOTHER ARENA!
Cole - Yeah right
Cole - They’re facing each other for the United States title, which has been held by some of the greatest in sports entertainment.
JBL - and me!
JBL - This is why SmackDown is the premiere brand. Me, and the in-ring action.
Cole - Finlay, the fighting Irishman.
JBL - Isn’t that redundant? Like saying the drunken Irishman?
JBL - He’s now the flying Irishman!
JBL - There’s no whirlpool under the damn ring! We’re in the middle of an arena! It’s not a black hole, Stephen Hawking!
JBL - He’s gonna eat him!
JBL - The Boogeyman has the lephraucan!
Cole - He’s supposed to get the key to the city…
JBL - IT’S ABOUT TIME!
JBL - Billy Gibbons and I are going out after the show for a few practice beverages!
JBL - Teddy Long is as unbiased as a person can be!
Cole - Don’t you mean ‘biased’?
JBL - Biased, unbiased, whatever, like you’re a grammarian now!
Cole - London and Kendrick are a great team, but what the hell are they wearing?
JBL - Looks like some of Goldust’s old stuff.
JBL - I have people who work for me that do that kind of stuff for me, I don’t do numbers and I don’t do words.
Cole - Why aren’t they out here then?
JBL - Maybe they should be.
JBL - You know if she had a skateboard and a stooge, she’d be on the fourth floor of Titan Towers.
Cole - Deuce is Domino’s brother, and Cherry’s boyfriend.
JBL - Sounds like a Louisiana family reunion.
JBL - I’ve never been to Sonic, my limo doesn’t fit in there.
JBL - I’d pull up to her in my black car and then pull her in.
JBL - Sandy’s great.
Cole - Her name is Cherry.
JBL - Really? I thought she was from Grease.
JBL - You know, JR Ewing ripped off my character.
Cole - 25 years ago.
Cole - How many years do you need to be in sports entertainment to be a veteran?
JBL - I’ll get back to you.
Cole - That should be a DQ, but I guess he has a five count…
JBL - He has a five count! That’s why we have rules!
Cole - The ancient order of royal Houstonians are ready to give King Booker the key to the city.
Booker - THEY AIN’T GOT NOTHIN’ ON KING BOOKAH! THE FIVE TIME WCW CHAMPION!
Booker - KISS IT YOU SUMBITCH!
Cole - I don’t think Kane is impressed by the ancient order of royal Houstonians.
JBL - Ya think?
JBL - 15,000 people were robbed of the opportunity of honoring their favorite son, King Booker.
Cole - Many people don’t like him.
JBL - Now you’re a mind reader! Now you read minds!
Cole - Kennedy is choking Vito with his dress.
JBL - Thank you for stating the obvious.
Cole - What did he do to deserve this?
JBL - HE’S WEARING A DRESS IN A WRESTLING RING! THAT SHOULD BE A FELONY!
JBL- The story here is Mr. Kennedy, who cares about Vito?
JBL - I LOVE BEING ME!
JBL - That sounded like Barbaros being euthanized. Michael Hayes singing Badstreet was better than that. Are you sick?
JBL - Britney Spears without the trailer park, Jillian. It was close, Jillian, it was close!
JBL - Miz joining the WWE was like losing three good people.
JBL - When expectations are that low, it’s easy to exceed them. When he came here, I wasn’t sure he could even climb into the ring.
JBL - All he needs is a red nose and some floppy shoes. His hair’s already like the Red Rooster’s, and WHO WEARS SUSPENDERS IN THE RING!?
JBL - I give him credit, which I absolutely hate to do because I hate the Miz.
JBL - He doesn’t know when to quit. He should take two weeks off, sell all his stuff, and then quit.

"KISS IT, YOU SUMBITCH!" really needs to be on a t-shirt, or a belt buckle, or something. "The ancient order of royal Houstonians" is also the greatest name for any group in the history of pro wrestling. When I heard that name, I instantly thought of the Stonecutters episode of the Simpsons, and I guess they'll be changing their name to "No Bookers" soon. Like TNA.

Jay, if you're a Joey and Disco fan - seriously, pick up some of the PWG DVD's. Joey was their champion for just over a year, and has had some really great matches. Disco wrestles for them as an undercard (usually opening the shows in a random six-man), but does the disco ball schtick while usually making the referee hold the ball. He (along with Joey and Tornado, I believe) are among the owners of the federation.

I download the second episode of WSX, but I haven't watched it yet.

If I had to rate the first episode, I'd give it a 2 or 3 out of 10 -- and I think I'm being lenient because I'm a Vampiro mark.

I watched a bit of the premiere episode of WSX a little bit ago (gotta love MTV and their constant replays). I thought it was ok, the wrestling seemed to be crazy fast but I think a little bit of that might be some really clever editing. The one thing I didn't care for was THAT EVERYONE WAS YELLING.
Thanks for the recommendation, and after WSX's second show (and my first time seeing them), I'm already a fan of both man. Damn I love WSX.
Anything on Highspots with "All Star Weekend" or "Battle Of Los Angeles" are worth picking up. 2006's BOLA tournament (essentially PWG's signature shows) is available as a three disc set for $35, I believe. The matches are below on the links, and feature a lot of great talent - Jack Evans, Roderick Strong, Austin Aries, Davey Richards, CIMA, Dragon Kid, M-Dogg 20, Chris Sabin, El Generico, and my personal favorite, Necro Butcher. :)

Also interesting - the UWF has added WSX wrestlers to their TNA house shows in Gainesville, GA and Chattanooga, TN in March.

That tornado DDT off the top rope was awesome.

I don't mind the editing. It's painfully obvious, but honestly, it saves me from eighteen minutes of watching someone try to regain their composure. This is so entertaining. One of the guys "has asthma" so they had to stop and toss him an inhaler!

The pre-broken tables are kind of a downer, though.

The coffin exploded?? hahahah

Will definately be watching next week.
