Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts - Gen. Discussion & Info

Ugh, totally disappointed. Was a huge fan of Banjo Kazooie for the N64 was really looking forward to this one.

All my hype for this game has been destroyed. I don't want this shit.
The trailer makes it look more like a mix-up between Twisted Metal and Diddy Kong Racing (not a good thing) than a true Banjo game, which in itself isn't necessarily a good thing. I'll definitely be skipping this one now.
While Nults and Bolts doesn't appear to be a true platformer, I loved Diddy Kong Racing.
I thought I heard somewhere that there definitely would be a Kameo sequel....?
The little of Kameo I played didn't impress me much. Should probably give it another chance though.

360 really needs a Mario/original Banjo games straight up traditional 3D platformer. That's the one genre I'm missing by only having a 360 since I ditched my Wii.

But again, like I said above, that's just lacking this gen anyway. Really only Mario and Ratchet and Clank so far as far as A quality 3D platformers go.

I really hope this is a turnaround for Rare... I don't care for this game at all, but I can see how it will redeem them hopefully... I hope so since Killer Instinct 3D is int he works and I don't want them to ruin that.

No redeeming needed for me. PD0 was crap but they more than made up for it with Kameo and Viva Pinata. Both games were amazing. I'm bummed there is no Kameo 2 in the works (that we know of).

i wouldn't call PD0 crap but around that time CoD2 was also out and much better.

i do agree that Kameo was underrated and Viva Piniata was under-appreciated.
Viva was good, but not my cup of tea. Kameo was well built but I can't stand it to be honest.
Haven't played VP but I personally hated Kameo (don't understand why some loved it...). High hopes for this game though..box art looks sweet

It surely was,the only bad thing was that they walked slow and take too much shots. Still a great game and PD 2 can be a lot better.

Why do you think that is a mistake? If MS is seriously courting the Wii demographic having more expensive games doesn't help. Pricing the family friendly games at Wii prices sounds like a smart move.

At any rate that's a solid price, I ordered one. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, I was just considering that the otehr 3 Rare 360 games were released at $50 each. But, you logic makes sense, considering that I remember getting a Viva Pinata deal only about a week after it was released. I just hope that the price does not imply anything about the quality (which I doubt, since it is a Rare game).

Oh yeah, $50 first party 360 games. I forgot all about those. It's hard to believe they even existed in the first place.
The game is up to preorder at Gamestop: http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=71849
For only $40 too
I bet that it is a mistake, or something, and even with Gamestop's "low-price" guarantee, I bet they would manage to screw us over. Also says it's coming 11/18, when I thought it was coming in October??
Tempting to pre-order...Amazon currently shows it as $59.99

EDIT: Preordered from GS just in case.

banjo and kazooie got a lil fat...

The original Banjo-Kazooie is coming to XBLA! :O That's pretty fucking sweet, I think.

I'm still not sold on this. The vehicle handling just look so...utterly awful. But if they'd just fix the heinous character re-design, I might reconsider...

It looks like the game is really $40, I just reserved it in store at GS

And I guess after that "Reviewie" trailer, the vehicles just take the place of what Kazooie used to do

I really wasn't interested in the game before, but now that I checked out those IGN links I am really looking forward to the game. I'll probably buy it day one. If it came out at $40 that would be awesome.

Vehicle handling is great actually. Very easy to pick up and drive/fly around like a champ. Flying is especially fun.

Whilst sitting in on an official demo of Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts at E3, one narrated and directed by Microsoft Games Studios' Ken Lobb and Rare's Mark Bettridge, I found it impossible not to be impressed by the platformer. The sheer number of parts, contraptions, and options, combined with what appeared to be a straightforward interface — a challenge when building something in 3D — made it clear that there's lots to do in the third proper Banjo Kazooie game.
:bouncy::applause::bouncy:
Finally getting my hands on the game, however, is where the shine started to wear off. While Banjo controls well, and Kazooie's magic wrench is easy to come to grips with, vehicle control was amazingly challenging. Watching the vets at Rare play, the game looked more fun than a box full of puppies. Actually trying to complete the game's challenges, whether it was with a pre-built beginner vehicle or an expert level one, was just short of maddening.

I'm getting more excited for this as time goes on. Can't wait for it. :D

Wow. I wonder why only $40? Unless they're trying to make this attractive for the people interested in Little Big Planet (btw, i'm not one of those people).

Anyway, day 1 purchase for me.

I am not a huge Banjo-Kazooie fan, and still have nightmares of Donkey Kong 64, which replay in my head every time I see any game with similar art and gameplay. So, I'll wait for a demo.

O DEAR GOD :fridge:

That is awful.

Honestly, for all I know, DK64 COULD be terrible. I haven't played it in about six years, when I was, like,
11.
