Battlefield: Bad Company 2 | (30 Sep.) Mp. Gameplay Trailer

I just go to multiplayer > check stats, which is pretty descriptive.

My God I think CoD ruins people for games like these. I've never seen more retarded people online before playing this game and MAG online. Heaven forbid someone realizes they are in a squad and try to work as a team. Last night was especially bad.

Being on a bad team makes you wanna break things when playing this game.
is there a way to see your stats on the internet?
They were up for like a day. Took em down, because they were having issues with the servers.

Ok thanks.

Stats ingame are pretty good, but I know that the other BF games had a LOT more details on the internet site.

Also anyone know what happened to the attack buggie from the ad video?

Is it only on certain game types?

im gonna guess that will be in the new map dropping at the end of march. dumb to put it in the commerical though.
Being on a bad team makes you wanna break things when playing this game.
i run with a pretty good squad and when we are the only ones doing things, it makes us not want to play and we just go play squad deathmatch cuz then we only have to rely on each other and no one else.

I definitely get the same feeling. I'm not a fan of squad mode anymore because of the frequent camping. Not having a goal besides kills doesn't force people to actually fight, but more of a reaction based game. Camping is fine I suppose, but I find it too boring and lose patience with the game.

Yea, I don't care for squad deathmatch, it's just a campfest. I can't wait to try Squad Rush though when it's available to everybody.

i joined starkat's game only be on the enemies. it turned to out to be me vs other cags starkat, dtruk, and option. try to stop the cag on cag violence. lol. i have my alert messages turned off. hence, i didn't see their later squad invites. eventually, i quit the game and friend joined. same team but different squads. half way through my relatively good game of 1,900 pts, i got booted from the ea servers. argh.

but i managed to add dtruk, option and kurrptsenate's dogtags. haha.

Do you know what BF Vet rank you need for that, and if that is done automatically. I been looking for info to try and get that unlocked, but I think I'll just give up on it for now. I had played BF2 and 1942 and have Vet Rank 1 but it's not showing up or anything for me.

Ha, finally it's not me who is getting the beatdown on by all other CAGs.

I believe you only need two games registered at verteran.battlefield.com. CD Keys, 1943, and Bad Company 2 do not currently register if I remember correctly. However it is easy enough to get Battlefield Heroes at least.

To register a game you need to use the drop down box on the right side and then fill in whatever stuff they ask for.

I don't know how much more of this game I can take. I'm constantly on horrible teams and can't seem to find a class/loadout I like. I enjoy medic but it feels like no one else minds the tanks destroying our entire team so it's engineer I have to play.

Your going to need a level of two I belive, so thats 3 games. You can add battledfield heroes for free, just make a character on the website. Thats wrong dude. It did not give me the M1 not untill EA merged my two accounts(PSN and XBL Gamertag)

Vet 2 is what I read.

wow, just wow

finally capped snipes so i put that class away. I moved back to engineer and really focused on point defense. The anti-tank mines, when placed in high traffic areas net you an ass-load of kills and tank kills, as well as experience.

Killed 5 tanks and 8 people on those alone and went 26 and 8. Not too bad

The M60 for Medic is insane. Maybe a few quick pops from a mile away kills a sniper in a second.

I'm considering taking away my second specialization which is a longer range for the Medic Kit for the accuracy boost. I don't think the long range does anything, it seems like a minuscule upgrade.

I love the legions of people playing this like MW2, so easy to gun down, not so fun when they're on your team, but they distract each other.

Hardcore mode in any game is just a reason for anyone to pull up a tent. I still play as a medic in that mode and do relatively well, just have to spot any signs of movement.

medic is really the only class I haven't spent much time on. Probably going to do that last since I'm not a huge fan of the LMG, or it's extra ability. Healing is nice, don't get me wrong. I'd rather destroy vehicles, or have the ability to have infinite ammo

Infinite ammo is kind of unneeded when you have 200 rounds of ammo that don't go by quickly. Plus, I'd hope the engineers would drop ammo kits for me. I rarely have ever run out of ammo and then i'd just pick up another medic's kit.

Some people like killing and destroying stuff, I like helping my teammates with health and reviving, since I know they're thankful for it.

An attacking team/defending can't really survive without at least one medic, unless the other team is garbage or everyone on your team is just amazing at defending/attacking.

For some reason my encounters with medic's and revives haven't been pleasant. It reminds me of the retards that play MAG that are purely looking for experience and don't assess the situation before bringing you back. Too many times I get a revive, only to be gunned down less than 2 seconds later by the same threat.

And you're thinking about assault class, not engineers. They get the repair kit

I used to do that at the beginning of my BF "career" back in BF2, but I try to clear out all the enemies from a guy before I revive him.

Of course there are times when I am reviving someone and some enemy just pops out and shoots me and then kills the person i just revived but what can you do?

Obviously there are SOME more experienced medics that decide to use a larger portion of their brain than the general retard-esque medic online. I'm not trying to lump you into that category. My general experiences in this game, as well as in MAG, I'd rather just die than be brought back. There are times when you are very thankful for a revive, but they are so few and far between.

I also have a problem with medics and assault classes not throwing their packs out. It seems some like to ration that shit too much, though the last game I played the only decent dude in my team was taking hints and throwing a health pack down here and there. Probably more of an assault class issue as there is no way to tell how much ammo someone has.

They really should make an update for that. Medics can tell how much health you have, assault classes should be able to tell how much ammo you have.

Is there any word on getting a CAG night for this? Seems like a lot of CAGs play this so it might be kinda fun to get a game night going.

Problem with a CAG night is that it's not possible to get 12 people in on a team is it? Oh, private matches. Yeah that'd be fun!

How would you define people playing this like MW2?

Basically not working with a team, using lonewolf tactics, thinking that the controls should be instant shoot and kill.

Bullets have travel time and gravity in this game.

any tips on getting demolition?

I am loving this game so far, but everyone I play with has no Mic and no one works as a team. Too many play Conquest as just deathmatch no one defends or captures new points.

anyone want to add me as a friend? I want to play with people that work together, my psn name is maingon

Playing with Medic quite frankly lets you play like that since you can outgun your opponents.

One time I gunned down four guys as they desperately all tried reloading after I surprised them and they all missed me with their bullets. It's hilarious. Haven't laughed that hard in a while. I mean with 200 bullets in the chamber compared to their measly 30, it's easy pickins.

the way you can long range with an LMG in this game is straight retarded. There's no way that thing should have the same range as the ARs. They should really do something about that. It should be mid to long range unless you are spraying bullets.

I actually got this one solely playing rush mode. It helps when your an attacker and in a tank. Start blowing the two or more corners of the house/building area the M-Com is in. Or become a sniper and just C4 spam the corners of the building. A lot of campers are often in there trying to defend so you should hopefully get around 1-4 kills.

doesnt the building have to collapse on people instead of killing them through the tank corner shots?

and i sent you have friend invite. but nothing happened. i wanted to see how high you were on the leaderboards.

Actually, in real life, most LMGs have a large variation in their effective ranges. However, modern LMGs like the M60 and SAW have particularly long effective ranges, almost twice that of most normal service rifles, such as the AR15. I cant tell you the exact reasons as there are a lot of variables involved (twist, muzzle velocity, etc.) , but higher caliber weapons tend to have longer effective ranges.
It's not so much the range I suppose, but the effective grouping of the bullets compared to an assault rifle at mid to long range
Thats what effective range means. Range by itself just indicates the travel of a bullet. Effective range is the distance a bullet can travel, while maintaining group or point accuracy. The effective range can vary by shooter skill and thus the measure is usually created by averaging across several shooters.

I know what you mean though and I think the issue is that in real life, these guns have downsides such as weight and reliability. Games dont capture that and thus, if the dev is only looking at the stats for the gun, they may come across as being unbalanced during gameplay. From my own experience, I can tell you that even the size of your magazine can have a bearing on your ability to shoot effectively as going form a 30 to a 70 round magainze increases the weight of a weapon by around 10% , let alone switching to a 200+ round belt. On top of this, a real LMG usually requires a second person to carry around an extra barrel for when the LMG overheats.

Hey today I got on the good ol PS3 and I tried going online and I can connect to EA online . I have NEVER had this problem till today on the PS3 . I have had this problem A LOT of the 360 version but not on the PS3 version . Anyone else ?

1. get a squad of 4
2. join squad deathmatch in arica harbor
3. have a 5th person join(one who needs the trophy) join so they go on a different team
4. be on AIM or ps3 text chat so you know where your whole boosting team is hiding
5. bring it down with c4 (be assault and have extra c4 perk)
6. repeat till trophy

i read about this trick on ps3trophies.org. but i wished you had a shortcut or alternate method. this one involves hours of work. plus, either you or your partner needs to traverse the entire map to the "checkpoint" without getting killed. plus, your teammates might spawn on you and kill your partner.

it took me not even 15 minutes to get this trophy, start to finish. take down 5 houses with 4 ppl in it and youre done. it should take no longer than 90 minutes to boost 5 separate people. if your team mate goes into the house where the other team is in, he will get quadruple teamed. you dont have to run to a "checkpoint" since its squad deathmatch and the maps are really small. chances are one of your team mates is by the house your boosting squad is in and if not, just bounce from house to house until you get there. you will get shot at times but this is the absolute quickest way to do this trophy.

wow, it didnt occur to me for a quad kill. i was thinking of two person separate team boosting session, tit for tat.

"Free update" coming March 30th with "new maps" AKA "new" modes on previously released maps.

While the core of the dev team here at DICE as well as all the back-end teams at EA are 110% focused on stabilizing the game experience we do have some other, great news to reveal. Today we’re happy to announce the release date of the second VIP map package for Battlefield: Bad Company 2! It will be made available on the 30th of March on all platforms at no extra cost to all of you who’ve got your VIP codes entered in the game. VIP Map Pack 2 contains the following:

Arica Harbor Conquest mode - US Command launches a break through action directly at the Russian base. Collateral damage is of no consequence. Capture and secure tactical positions in Conquest Mode across the vast Arica Harbor map.

Laguna Presa Rush mode - The valley and surrounding mountains possess a strategic value in the battle for South America, and an infantry assault supported by light armor vehicles is likely by both armies as US forces defend the nearby Dam.

VIP Map Pack 2 will expand the multiplayer experience on Arica Harbor and Laguna Presa.

VIP members will be able to expand on the deep and ever changing sandbox experience, which in itself provides near endless hours of entertainment, by having new content to keep things fresh. It also plays a vital part in making sure you, the players get proper value for the money you’ve invested in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. This is why these map packs are available at no extra cost, contradicting the industry standard and what our direct competitors are doing. Of course, it also helps avoid segmenting the community, making sure everyone can play together having the same maps available. There will be future paid downloadable content as well but these packs will focus on expanding other parts of the game experience rather than the selection of maps available for the basic game modes. We’re dedicated to taking care of this product for a long time – helping you avoid “mapathy” without getting nickel-and-dimed.

Senior Producer Patrick Bach and Executive Producer KM Troedsson are VIP (at yesterday’s BFBC2 launch party) – are you?

Finally, a big shout-out to all the fans that are playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 at the moment. We can see from the logs that you’re spending some crazy hours on the Battlefield – in only the last 24 hours you all logged more than 2.5 million game hours. Impressive!

Best regards,
KM Troedsson
