Beggar Prince: First New Genesis Title in 8 Years!
Good thing it's in the right forum now.
The most important thing is that you're happy. I know I can finally sleep tonight.
Eh

I paid $40 on the new copy of Persona 2 debacle. This is much cooler IMO

I'm watching for a release too. I expected a much (>$60) higher price.

I read somewhere that they dropped OlderGames and decided to self publish. I'll try and find the link.
Pricing info:Half this thread just stopped caring, I bet.
Yeah actually I think DP people are rejoicing because they thought they were going to pay 50 bucks for it.

$46 is little bit higher than I thought it would be but still is affordable. The only thing is that it says ships Spring 2006. Maybe they are waiting to see how many orders they get before they actually manufacture the packaging and game?

*edit*

$44 by money order.

They're finally shipping?

I been waiting for this one as I don't like to do preorders. The price seems fair for a new cartridge game. I don't have enough in my gaming budget to afford that right now, but when I do I will have to buy it to support the developers.

I just got the email saying that they shipped 500 (out of 600) already. I placed an order for one... I can't wait.

Here'e a copy of the email I got:

Hello!

Thank-you for your interest in Beggar Prince, the new
role-playing adventure game for the Sega Genesis -
Megadrive.

The game is now shipping to customers, and yes, we are
still taking new orders!
Many of you on this list have already placed an order
with us - - - and for that, we thank you!

However, for those of you who have not yet ordered, or
would like to tell your friends about the game, we
have only produced 600 copies of Beggar Prince and at
this time, have sold just over 500 of them. As we are

produced from scratch: In other words, no recycled
game cases or boxes have been used. We're talking 100%
brand-new cartridges and boxes! Our goal was to
re-create the authentic Sega Genesis-Megadrive gaming
experience that dedicated fans are accustomed to, and
the results will truly surprise and excite you!

Beggar Prince will play in any Sega Genesis, Megadrive
or Nomad system regardless of region. Yes, this means
that all machines, be they NTSC or PAL, will play the
game flawlessly!

Once your payment has been received, your order will
be shipped as soon as possible, in the order in which
it was received. Please be patient, as we are a small
company with a busy schedule. We have made it easy for
you to place your order by offering two different
payment options: PayPal or money order. To inquire
about additional or special payment or shipping
considerations, please contact us by e-mail.

We are proud to offer two different payment options:
PayPal and money order. We accept PayPal payments in
US dollars ($), Great Britain Pounds (£) and Euros
(€). The cost of each game ordered is USD$40 +
appropriate shipping, broken down as follows:

USA and Canada: Beggar Prince game + shipping =
USD$46.00
England: Beggar Prince game + shipping = £29.00
Europe: Beggar Prince game + shipping = €43,00
Worldwide (outside of USA, Canada and Europe): Beggar
Prince game + shipping = USD$52.00

We will try to make special accomodations in price for
multiple orders, especially if ordering 10 copies of
the game or more. Your order will be shipped by either
USPS priority mail (within USA) or USPS global
priority mail (outside of USA) which usually takes
between 3 - 6 days to arrive. All orders are shipped
within a protective cardboard box, and the game itself
is protected by packing paper.

Beggar Prince has been featured in several videogame
magazines, including Hardcore Gamer (USA), Edge (UK),
Retro Gamer (UK), Video Game Collector (USA), Tips and
Tricks (USA) and more. It has also been given the
spotlight at classic gaming websites such as the
famous Sega-16.com! It's a great role-playing game
experience for everyone who still has and loves their
Sega Genesis - Megadrive system.

Should you have any questions about the game itself or
the order process, please write! You will get a quick,
informative responce.
Again, I would like to thank you for your time,
interest and support. Without people like you, this
release wouldn't have been possible.

Never let dreams die!

Price seems fair considering its a cartridge game w/ full packaging and not on a CD in CD case. If it was a CD game, I'm sure it would be much less.

Got their latest email from their mailing list so I will buy soon once I get some PP money. This is one of the few games I am willing to buy new rather than wait for a price drop or used copy, just because I want to support the company.
