I preordered the gold after that $15 cert deadline but still have my vanilla preorder. Guess I'm SOL if I want to cancel the vanilla and keep the gold right?

Guess most people really enjoyed the beta this weekend. Lol.

I don't understand why people didn't lock in their preorders when BB was giving $15 back in early December. I mean, you can always cancel after the fact if you change your mind.
One good reason is that preordering is a terrible habit of modern game players. When we preorder we encourage companies to put more crap behind the preorder wall, have special packs for every store (remember Batman Arkham Knight?), and we have little protection from the product being broken upon launch. You can't often refund opened games.

Note this does not pertain to limited editions as you might actually miss out, and yes BB does give you a bit of credit. But a Ubisoft PC game will surely price drop by half in 2 or 3 months.

I am glad that BB actually gives us a real reason to preorder, but the practice as a whole is freaking terrible.

It won't change much. If people stop preordering, they'll just go back to the Buy It Day 1, get this!

I'm not going to beat a dead horse re: debate over preordering. You do you. I'll stick to preordering.

I agree Ubisoft titles plummet real fast and it is definitely a great idea in general to wait for the price drops. In this case though, the game is frickin amazing and it's not just hype like Watch Dogs. The alpha and both betas played incredibly well. Not to mention there is a huge online component to this. As with all multiplayer/online games, my philosophy/advice is to go in day one otherwise you will be left behind. Just my opinion.

True, this is one of the recent rare examples of a demo being available to launch to help you make a purchasing decision. I am not saying that it is wrong to buy a game at or near release, especially if you have compelling reasoning to believe that you will like it. However if the online game launches as a hot broken mess, then you are probably going to be out money and time. Let's hope for the best, but most publishers certainly don't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Not sue if this is old news, but best buy has added a Pirate Sigil Coin as a pre-order bonus for Uncharted 4. So you might want to cancel and re-order if you want it since physical bonuses dont get added to old orders.
Uh, well I am NOT canceling and reordering nor should I have to and I expect to get what my order should give me. If they can't get their shit together and this is an actual problem, then it is a problem they will fix. This is the craziest thing I've ever heard if it's true.

Well, eldritch said he's gotten every physical bonus added later on and he didn't cancel and re-order so it might not be true. I was going by the pop figure situation but that wasn't a pre-order incentive like he pointed out.

I definitely got the microphone for Guitar Hero added to my pre-order, even though it was not part of the package when I made my pre-order.  They e-mailed me and said they noticed I didn't have it so they shipped it for me.  I never had to say anything to them to get it.

I know for a fact they have issues with adding promos to an existing movie preorder. For example if they add a digital copy to allow you to watch it two weeks early, or add a $5 My BB Rewards certificate promo. If you ordered before these promos were offered, they do not get added to your existing order. You have to cancel and reorder to get them.

Not sure if the same hold true for physical preorder bonuses for games, but I imagine it might.

Question about this, is Best Buy iffy on what games they give the $10 on? Since I see some games get it, and some don't unless I missed something. Also wondering if there's any time limit on the $10 rewards like with regular rewards (I freaking hate that!)

Just talked to BB customer service. The Division Gold edition will no longer be available to preorder. Lame.
I wouldn't take their word on anything but it could come back and couldn't.

Depends on Best Buy and the publisher, I believe.

The only limit is that it's 1-$10 reward per title per account. You can purchase every $10 reward game if you'd like to.

On Division, they might get after release like with some other games.

On Best Buy $10, that's probably accurate, publisher and all. I might considering doing the $10 rewards more often since it stacks with GCU

Are there any plans for adding more games to the list? I mean, you've got Uncharted 4, DOOM, Mighty No. 9, Mirror's Edge, Homefront, Dark Souls III, Ratchet & Clank, MLB 16, Trackmania Turbo, etc...

Lol @ Homefront. They'll need a $20 reward cert promo to move sales on that one. That game will be DOA and a future free game with gold, I'm calling it now.

I was just going down the list of games that are releasing soon after The Division and Battleborn. Thanks for answering the question.

The only ones that might have gotten $10 promo is Doom, Mirror's Edge, and MLB.  It looks like they are either phasing out the program or waiting until E3 to announce the next batch.

What you might see though is a lot more $10 GC when you buy a game on launch week or shortly after, that was sorta popular late last year but haven't seen it pop up yet at all this year so far.

Well they werent offering the coin when you placed your order, so you shouldnt expect to have it included in your order. Not sure why thats so hard to understand.

Like another poster pointed out, no FC Primal is a big sign that this promo is either on the way out or being downsized. Every big ubi game had the certificate and suddenly that one didn't around the time they're rumblings that the promo is finished. Maybe some of us are being paranoid or something and they'll add a crap ton of games around E3 like some of you are holding out for, but Im not going to hold my breath.

I totally agree. You're right, I remember Far Cry 4 and AC Unity & Rogue had coupons. Very strange indeed that Primal didn't have one. Perhaps it is being phased out after these last two. Damn shame if true.

Yeah I really do think it will be phased out after the last batch of games releases. Not much incentive for it when Gamestop is giving a whole dollar back, lol.

Asking for $12 off and $10 back is probably too much these days when no one's really competing with them on that front.

I agree. But I think it's a bad move on BB's part. With Amazon offering 20% off preorders, and if BB doesn't give $10 back anymore, then all my preorders will be shifting over to Amazon. 20% discount is on par with GCU for preorders, and free release day delivery will save me a trip to BB.

I think it depends how many games you buy. Every Black Friday I get 5 or so games and most are from Best Buy. The GCU discount on Black Friday discounts can't be beat.

GCU is still better for gaming deals than Amazon IMO. I know you get other services with a prime membership but I have no use for them personally so i'll stick with best buy for now. They also have a pretty decent reward system in place while amazon has none.

Amazon credit card isn't bad. Its worth it to pre order at Amazon personally so I don't have to deal with best buys crappy service

I have had just as bad service with Amazon, and some amazing service with Best Buy.

For example, my Persona 4 DAN Disco Edition came in a bubble mailer really beat up. So I called in to complain. They gave me a $16 refund, $10 in rewards, and are sending me another one. They said I can keep both.

I didn't expect the rewards nor such a big partial refund. I did expect a replacement and maybe $5-10, I also didn't expect to get to keep both.

Amazon can be good as well, but it's people. Some employees go above and beyond and some don't give a crap. I will say this, at least when I call Best Buy I get people that speak English as their primary language every time. Where as Amazon is luck of the draw.

I completely agree. I'll use my GCU for non-preorders. In terms of preorders though, it makes sense to shift all of them to Amazon, 20% discount plus free release day delivery.

What kind of crappy service have you had to deal with? I think they are pretty good on the forums with getting problems resolved if you happen to run into any.

Store level. They have lost or sold a few of my CEs. They can be a pain in this as to trade with.

Also its much easier to build Amazon credit as opposed to best buy.

While in the end they made it right I'd rather it just be handled right the first time then have to deal with making it right.

Apologies if this has been addressed before, but apart from the current couple of games (The Division, Battleborn), has there been any indication that there will be other games added to the list of games that come with a pre-order reward certificate?

On the other side, Amazon has been pretty bad about packing CE's in the past, at least for me. Shipping smaller CE's consistently in bubble mailers means they always come smashed or completely destroyed. It's a gamble either way but BB at least gives reward points.

This is asked just about everyday with the same response. Go back a page and read the responses from yesterday.

Yeah it sucks if they start phasing out the $10 cert, that's what keeps some of us coming back and giving them more money towards pre-orders. But GCU is still imo the best way to get pretty good deals when buying a game that is on sale from BB. Sunset Overdrive came to $12 just a few days ago and I didn't even have to PM.

Really sucks, went into store and they had one Gold Edition card left and it wouldn't ring up at all.  Ended up getting vanilla version.
