My UV codes worked on Flixster. Supposedly, they DO have HD options but only on a certain amount of titles currently. Just need to get Vudu linked to my UV or Flixster account so I can unlock those too.

I have about 75 movies on my UV account. I can never get those movies to download in HD quality.

But most of my recent movies downloaded in my iTunes account have been in HD. When I realized that, I've been shifting more of my downloads towards iTunes if the digital copy forces me to choose one retailer. Although some often have UV and iTunes copies, which is even better!

Vudu has become my goto application for watching and downloading UV movies. HD is supported on PC, consoles and streaming devices like Roku and soon Chromecast. Except the free movies I got for signing up, all of my movies play in HD.

HD isn't supported on mobile devices, like phones and tablets, but it still looks pretty good.

I've never been impressed by the Flixster support or app.

The only issue is that HBO UV titles are not by default able to be watched via Vudu, but if you redeem HBO titles in a special manner, you can add them to both your UV library and your Vudu account.

Thanks for the perspective.

I guess it all depends on the devices people use and their preference if stream vs download. I stream through netflix on a PS3. I watch my blu movies on disc, so no need for a digital copy there. The only time I watch digital copies is when I'm traveling. And I always download the movie in those situations. The net connection is too sporadic to be relied on for streaming. I prefer to watch in HD where applicable. And on the go that leaves me with iTunes movies downloaded in HD.

I'll see if I can create a Vudu collection. For some reason, my Vudu and UV accounts are linked. My Flixster and UV accounts are linked. But I may need to add my UV codes to the Vudu side of things. I saw it was Walmart supported, so I was a bit leery...but I figure I'll try it this weekend.

Does iTunes allow you to stream content from your account? I believe that they usually download the content locally to play on your machine.

Anyone who ordered the HG steelbook bundle for shipping only get one movie delivered? I got Catching Fire and I am still "pending" on the first movie. I am just afraid it is going to go backorder than cancel out.
Great it looks like they shipped the second Steelbook the bad news according to the sku# it's just another copy of Catching Fire. Frakking Best Best has been horrible lately with everything.

Can you switch streaming services? I've been using Flixster, but I've been having issues since redeeming some of my codes on there. The codes says they are redeeming and then it says its adding to my library, but then they are nowhere to be found. It's happened with a few Miramax titles and most recently with Catching Fire. Strangely, they appear instantly when I log into Sony's digital library, even though they were redeemed in Flixster. It does take awhile to show up in ultraviolet's site. When I click the watch button on uv's site, it takes me to the Flixster movie info page with no link to watch. I've contacted Flixster. They unlinked my account and told me to re-link. When I did so, I went from 188 movies down to 163. Now I'm showing two Flixster accounts linked under ultraviolet. Catching Fire is still missing.

When you get a UV code, just don't use Flixster any more. I will no longer use Best Buy's, that's for sure. I gave up on flixster a while ago because at that time they never had HD versions of movies. I'm going to stick to only VUDU and the actual movie studio sites for now on. I had good experiences with Sony's site as well. One problem I have with VUDU is that while the movie always shows up in my library, it doesn't always show up in my family member's library when input on Flixster. Meanwhile with Sony I haven't had that issue.

Speaking of this, Someone mentioned that Disney doesn't support UV. That's not entirely true as The Long Ranger allowed UV registration. I think their Digital Copy + (it's fairly new) service does allow for UV registration.

You can link your UV account to multiple redemption/streaming services.

My UV account is linked to Vudu, Flixster, CinemaNow, TargetTicket, Sony Pictures, Universal Hi-Def, Paramount ... and I am probably forgetting a few.

... and you can stream almost anything in your UV account to just about any service.  The only exceptions I have encountered are HBO TV shows and some Paramount movies.

I'll have to check that out. I have Lone Ranger, but have not redeemed the digital copy yet.

When I redeemed Iron Man 3, I had the option to redeem via Vudu, but it was not a UV copy ... so it is in my Vudu library, but not in my UV library.

When I redeem, I usually do it through the recommended site on the redemption sheet.

In some cases, you could redeem elsewhere, but you lose some extras ... like Total Recall and The Raid, where the Sony site would give you both rated and unrated versions of the movie.

What is weird is I seem to have my Vudu and UV accounts linked with the right email. But I will likely need to re-use my codes on Vudu. Will try it out tonight.

Game of Thrones codes work with all the services. Vudu, iTunes, Flixster, and now Google Play (even though Amazon Instant Video was supported originally).

Yes it does ... as long as you do NOT redeem through the HBO site. Going through the HBO site will disable some of the options based on your selections.

I will see what happens tonight. I used the codes on the HBO Select site in 2012 and 2013, then tried them on Flixster this year and they still worked. Good luck to me!

Had to buy HG Steel at one BB location then drive 15 minutes to another to do a return/rebuy to get both HG and CF Steels. STL market is just about out of Steels for both movies.

Having read other people's experiences, I was afraid that only Catching Fire would ship or that the entire order would be backordered, but I got my shipping confirmation this afternoon for both Blu-Rays! Once they arrive, I'll contact Lionsgate about the missing DVD.

Okay, guys. I redeemed my HG and CF on Flixster...both are reading as UV titles, so Vudu sees them and various others. The only problem I run into is my Game of Thrones Seasons 1, 2, and 3 won't work on Vudu. Flixster has them, though.

HBO TV titles from UV are not licensed to Vudu for some reason. You can get the Vudu version of HBO TV shows, by entering your code on the Vudu site. Then you can have one in Vudu and one in UV/Flixter copy.

Here is the process I use to redeem HBO TV titles so I have it available in all of the services:

Skip the HBO select site and just enter the code directly on the sites, you can get all three.

1) Go into iTunes -> Store -> Redeem and enter the code on the sheet. That will give you the iTunes version.

2) Go to Vudu -> Disc-to-Digital -> Redeem UltraViolet, search for Game of Thrones Season X, and enter the code on the sheet. That will give you HDX copies through Vudu.

3) Finally, go to Flixster -> Redeem UltraViolet copy, search for Game of Thrones Season X, and enter the code. That will give you a UV copy

I've done the same with Boardwalk Empire, True Blood and Strike Back seasons and have gotten them all.

I tried my code on Vudu by redeeming it, but it said the codes weren't valid. =/ I had redeemed them on Flixster already. But I also have them on Amazon Instant Video, HBO Go (while I have HBO), and I have backups of the seasons on my media HDD at home, along with Blu-Ray and DVD copies of each (obviously). So while it was nice to try, I am not hurting for being able to watch the show. :D/

At my BB, they had a sign posted on the display for an ad correction saying the Steelbook edition was not supposed to have a DVD, unlike what was shown in the ad.

They didn't have one where I went. And I emailed them with a receipt dated for just 5 mins or so after opening, so they can't fault me. If they do, I'll shrug it off cause I still have the Blu's, DC's and the steelbooks.

Went to pick up my copies of the steelbooks last night and the girl at the online pickup counter kept talking about how she really wanted them but couldn't find them. She said they sold out in a couple of hours. Apparently there's 8 Catching Fire steelbooks in the store that they couldn't locate.

Shouldn't you be among the first to get them if you work at Best Buy? I feel like I'd have copies of everything limited if I worked there.

I don't work at Best Buy, but at Home Depot, when something is limited, employees are forbidden from putting one off to the side and not letting a customer have first crack at it. When you're off from work, it's fair game.

They could be unpickedup preorders at customer service. That's what happened with the last 4 Catching Fire steels at the store I got the Hunger Games steel from.
