Went to local BB. the system showed 2 in stock, they looked in the backroom and found one for me. When I asked for the 2nd, they said they didn't have it. Anyway, I could tell the sales rep was shocked to see the clearance price. My guess is they are holding the other unit for themselves. So I tried an online order, but that came back as not available for pickup. Anyway, looks nice on the picture on the packaging...we'll see once it is assembled.

Both cabinets are in stock at my local BBY, but I'll have to ask an employee to look up the SKUs in their system to see if their prices are lower than the online price. I have to go there anyway to pick up my copies of NFS: The Run, so there's no harm done if they're still expensive.

I used the first link to find which stores had the nice storage cabinet, and then I checked the clearance section to see the price. If yours is showing a higher price, then you probably won't get it for $20. The two lowest I found were in the $40-50 range.

Someone probably just ordered it for in store pickup at full price with the intention of getting a price adjustment in store. That's what I did last night and after placing my order the store I just made the online order with showed unavailable.

That's why I just ordered it ahead of time. I think it is kinda shady to put items on hold for certain people. Should be first come, first served. (I'm badmouthing the policy, not the fellow cag that got them to do it for him.)

Well, it showed up in the clearance section of my store for the $20 price. I'm sure either a CAG or SlickDealer was there at 9am today to pick it up.

Went to my local store this morning. Site shows available, which SHOULD mean a quantity of 3+ in stock. Go there, none on the floor. One found in warehouse, and it scans at $25.99. Have it on hold right now as I didn't know if it would fit in my car (had to run to work), also because the price is $5 more than everyone is saying.

Two stores kinda close to me had them. First one I went to had two. And they were both on hold for store pickup. Fuming, I went to the next one. I thought that El Store Pickupo had gotten to that one as well, but they had one available. I wanted another one, but seeing as how some people didn't get any at all I guess I should be happy with what I... like hell.

btw, on the site it says that it can hold 200 CDs or 136 DVDs, but on the box, it says that it can hold 396 CDs, 300 Blu-Rays, or 282 DVDs. Website must be wrong, because I doubt the box is.

Thanks a ton for the info on the cabinet. A store like 30 min away from me, which is where a CAG/friend I've known for the last 14 years is actually staying, had two of them for $21.

Called the store, they verified the stock, and was able to buy them both over the phone for $45 total. I am not in terrible need of one but for $21...it doesn't hurt to have em.

Thanks a ton for the info everyone. Now I get two decent/nice DVD/CD cabinets and have a reason to drive 30 min to meet a longtime friend of mine.

Call the store. If you order and pay for it over the phone they can hold it for at least 7 days if not longer. My store said since it isn't an online order they can hold it "indefinitely" but that may be YMMV

They originally couldn't find it, so they were going to order me one through the warehouse (he said they had 60 available at the warehouse) but found it before we submitted the order. If you're in the OKC area I would suggest calling any OKC area store and getting them to order you one at $22.99 (the price at my local store).

IF I pick up at the nonclearance priced store, and they won't give me clearance pricing, should I buy it, then return it with receipt to the store that "does" have clearance pricing...and essentially ask them to credit me the difference or do a return and buy back right away at clearance pricing. Might be worth a shot.

Ask them to price match the other store. Or ask the store that is out of stock to order one for you -- they should be able to. I just had my friend call and have them do it, but keep in mind it is YMMV.

Okay, I just got the Init Media Storage Cabinet Espresso $149.79 shipped to my local store. I chatted with a Best Buy representative who told me since the "Ship to Store" option wasn't available using the website, that all I'd have to do is find out the address of the Best Buy I'd wish to have it shipped to. Put that store's address in the shipping address section and put your name where it says name. The store will know it's for a customer and I can then pick it up with a photo ID.

Once I go there I'll do a return/re-buy for the clearance price (if it's actually valid at my local store). If they show in their system that it's ringing up full price still, I just won't re-buy it. Hopefully this information helps someone else out there.

Kudos to ChunLi Barbie for finding this out. I have an old DVD rack which was getting overfilled so this will be great for my room.

The one I saw today stated 300 BDs, don't recall how many DVDs (since who buys them... it's 2012 ).

I would try what I did. Call each store near you and have them price check the SKU. Whichever store has the clearance price, have them order one from warehouse and pay over the phone and ship to your house. If you have cash, do the same but in store. All too easy.

Do stores allow you to pay by phone with a card...? I've never seen that done before.

I'm considering calling around because my store is charging $5 more than everywhere else.
