Why nothing for today or tomorrow.
Video games aren't always on sale. Best Buy rotates different product categories each day.
Out of curiosity, is this the PS3 version or the 360, or both? Is one not as bad as the other?
The PS3 version is the worse of the 2.It is getting a patch though.

It is really annoying, but it is manageable.Other than, and the uninspired monster designs,it's the best Silent Hill since the third one, with Murphy being one of the best Protagonists of the series.

Ordered NFS: The Run online yesterday morning around 8am EST.
UPS guy just dropped it off on my front porch.

Impressively fast.

If someone plans on trading in their copy to GS, I have a buddy looking for a online pass (xbox360) He found 1 on ebay for $3, but the guy has to ship the code. PM me if you can help out. Thanks!
Now there's a name I haven't seen in a while. How have you been?

Regarding Downpour.. Yeah, the temporary freezing when it autosaves is the worst I've ever seen in a game. It's frustrating for sure, but it's manageable. Can't count the number of times an enemy hit me because the game was frozen for 3-5 seconds, though. I bought it with trade-in credit, and I'm a huge fan of the SH series, so I'm not willing to give it the ol' heave-ho like the rest of you. I'll wait for a patch before I start playing. I may trade it for a PS3 version though, not sure yet. I'd kind of like the entire series on PS3, but the 360 version was the clear winner in head-to-head comparisons.

I did watch a few video reviews of the SH collection after I bought it, and yeah, that one went back. I might grab it again now that it's been patched.
You know the funniest thing is I played the original about 3-4x on the PS1. Then I bought 2, 3 and even 4 on the PS2 and I never played more than a couple hours of each(if that).

I then bought Homecoming on the PS3 and it sat in my backlog till I traded it in. And now I had Downpour and I absolutely hated the freezing/stuttering of the framerate so I got rid of it already.

When they finally do get around to patching it, I'll probably wait till it's down to $19.99 again new and grab it to play through it cuz I really did like what lil I played.

I love that series, and I'm glad to hear that Downpour is back to where it should be. SH1 & 2 legitimately scared the shit out of me, and 3, I just enjoyed the story. 4 it was mostly cheap scares, like shit just coming out of no where...and the friggin' ghosts, god I hated those.

I have Homecoming, and have for a while, sitting on my shelf, I just heard that the protragonist is kind of... douche-y and I don't know I want that bad taste in my mouth, espeically since I hear so many good things about Downpour. Framerate issues usually don't kill many games for me, so maybe with all this praise for it, I'll finally pop it open and throw it in. Give me a good reason to use the 3D on the TV too haha.

Did you see that video I posted earlier showing the framerate stuttering? It gets pretty bad at some points to where you even think the game froze.

There's other semi annoying game mechanics in this title that were ticking me off pretty early on too(balancing across beams and having him start losing his balance every 2 frickin' feet:roll:).

If you didn't press the left stick quickly enough in the opposite direction he'd fall. I also swear he would lose his balance in the other direction as soon as I got him standing upright again.
So far, I am enjoying the game. Don't see what all the negativity is about.
I've said repeatedly that it's a good game. Worth $20. People on the internet just like to shit on everything.

Ya, with Downpour, there are definitely some framerate issues and bugs (in one play through, I ran into a bug that broke one sidequest...and the subway travel system was a buggy mess on both runs)...but I sent in my bug report to konami, and they're working on a patch. The performance issues are a little annoying but nothing game-breaking. I still played through the game twice and loved it and would totally recommend it even without a patch.

As for the HD Collection...ya, it's pretty solid now that the patch is out (from what I've played so far, having finished both games pre-patch and comparing, most of the performance issues are fixed, and they improved some of the aesthetics people were complaining about like the fog effects and sound bugs/issues). Definitely worth a rebuy.

You guys are making this game sound much more janky than it actually is. I bought it during the last deal and beat it on the hardest difficulty with no problem. The game and combat is very easy so you won't get stuck with the enemy in impossible situations exacerbated by glitches. I got most of the trophies except a couple of sidequests that I forgot to finish. The glitches were tolerable and certainly not game breaking. Don't pay full price for it but the best buy dotd sale was a great way to snag it.

I had a great time with it and enjoyed the storytelling, before trading the game back in to best buy or amazon for a small profit.

Well you know there are three kinds of people in the world right? Right? Anyone?

No one will ever forget playing the first SH game when it was new. I think that the reason most games aren't like that to us now is because we have been desensitized, and it was the first truly scary 3D game. Playing Dead Space the first time did have its moments, but it was more of the outstanding sound in that game that made the atmosphere. Anyone who played it with a good surround system knows what I mean.

I won't lie, I have to psych myself up quite a bit to start playing any survival horror, Dead Space, Silent Hill, and really any others. I have a horribly overactive imagination(probably since I'm an only child) and I just assume I will die in the night.

I still haven't touched Amnesia which I've had sitting on my hard drive for forever after seeing what some of the creatures look like. There was another indie game that I got through one of the bundles and that is about as basic looking as it gets and it scared me in ten minutes.

I guess I'm just a wimp haha.

I'm the same way... The void was too much for me to handle. And I played through the entire first dead space (and part of the second) only when I could invite people over. Silent Hill 1 was one of those games I wish I could have played but know I'd have regretted it the moment I started. Heck, the ending to Metal Gear Solid 2 was enough to make me unable to sleep that night...

Glad to know I'm not alone in the world!

Horror movies don't do anything to me or my imagination, but let me tell you. Silent Hill? Holy shit did I have nightmares over that. Even the newer REs have made me jump just because of the fact shit might sneak up on me scares me to no end.

Like stuff like Doom 3 where it just pops up behind you, that's a cop out, and sure it gets the cheap scare, but it doesn't actually keep me up. Dead Space's atmosphere(I did the same, by the way, and my girlfriend hasn't watched me play in a while so I haven't gotten to DS2 yet) is what got me to the point where I put it down for months before finally finishing it... on easy.

Thanks. I had been looking into the Siren games. I read it's better to get them from overseas. Odd that I am only noticing the demo on the PSN.

That's what's so scary about it. (gulp) :'( Just kidding.

I like my horror tasteful, and not overtly torture-based or gratuitous in any one thing. And I like it when it involves dealing with the unknown.

I'm fond of Dead Space, but if I had to suggest what would be "cooler" than fighting necromorphs on a derelict ship, would be to experience the events in a prequel-esque fashion (like, what would it be like to experience when things are still in control but slowly spiraling out of control; similar to the animated movies but more "fleshed" out).

Anyway, I was fond of the Clock Tower series on the SNES. The first Resident Evil, while it's completely outdated, exuded what I liked about horror (I prefer horror that makes me want run and hide away most of the time, whilst compel me enough to explore places and find a way to survive, with hints of badassery in it). I dunno.

get the import version- siren:new translation. its uncensored and all on one disc. i have the asian version and it has english menus. scariest game ive ever played. if ur ps3 is backwards compatible, pick up haunting ground, and kuon for ps2. rule of rose if u can find it, though that one is more weird/creepy its like a guillermo del toro movie gone south.

No there isn't. Everyone knows Miley Cyrus's/Hannah Montana's name is/was Destiny Hope Cyrus and she's, actually, a monkey's uncle.

How is Resistance 3, and how's the move interaction? Just picked up a move/sharpshooter bundle and I am looking for some good games for it. I have Killzone 3 and Goldeneye so far.

If you liked the first two than you will like this. I had fun with resistance 3. It's like a fps version of ratchet and clank bit with gore and a dark/serious tone to it. Oh and watch out for those grims. I fucking hate fighting those things !

Why don't you guys start your own discussion about the whole Hanna thing. It's really annoying when you come in here to read new posts and the last couple pages include a bunch of stupid shit.

I don't know. I guess maybe I'm just a lil too nitpicky when it comes to stuff like that, but to me it was a valid reason to give up on the title, especially since I truly thought the game had frozen several times due to all of the drops in framerate.

Konami apparently fixed the SH Collection via a patch, but as of now there's been ZERO word on when/if the patch is coming for SH Downpour. If they do patch the game finally, then I'll probably rebuy it(but likely used) for as cheap as I can get it and finish playing through it then.

For now though, the issues with the game were far too annoying for my liking.

I honestly think the friendly banter back and forth between CAG's is a nice respite from people constantly attacking each other for having differing views on something.

Of course, the mods will likely delete all of these joking posts as OT chatter soon enough anyway. As for me though, I certainly enjoy these little exchanges with other gamers that aren't all about the 'omg topic at hand', which btw isn't active till the 20th again if I remember correctly.

So grab a drink(or a blunt), relax and just chill please.

This is the intermission. Nobody gives a fuckck about what you want to fuckcking read. As much random sh*t gets posted in the threads on this board.

Just got off the phone with her. She says it's a fib.

Weird. I checked my Best Buy earlier for Need for Speed: The Run for shits 'n giggles (mainly to satiate curiosity about whether or not there were copies remaining, and whether they were the limited edition). The stock locator says they're available, but there weren't any on the shelves, which have the tag for $4.99.

Anyway, the only game I'm interested in getting at the moment is Max Payne 3. I never got into the series before, but I liked what I've seen of the game so far.
