I've never done store pickup from Best Buy before. If I were to select that, do they allow you to pick it up the following day? The Best Buy that has it near me is about 45 minutes away. Don't have any time today to make it out there.

The "Limited Edition" is just the first print run of the game. A lot of the copies out there are probably from the first print run, as it clearly didn't sell well. It's better than getting the standard version, but it's probably pretty common for many buying the game through this deal today.

I really doubt that. I don't think this game sells so hot. I don't ever see 20 copies of any games at my local BB unless they just came out. You got to remember that this game was the DOTD what.. 2 weeks ago or something for $14.99. I'm pretty sure they still had some copies left over from that, but they most likely cleared some out from the first DOTD. It is very common that games this cheap go OOS in all locations within a decent radius around you. There have been plenty of times I ordered a game for in-store pickup the night it goes live, with ALL BBs around me showing 'in-stock', then I check at noon the next day for the hell of it and they are all OOS. In this particular case, only 1 BB actually showed the game in-stock for pick-up (within 5mins of the deal going live), which is very very rare. I'm just assuming they still had low stock from the previous DOTD. My BBs gaming section have been looking pretty cleared out in general though.

This recently happened to me with Tera.. it was available in the morning at all local BBs and I hesitated. I waited till about 1-2pm est and they were completely gone. I even went this past weekend to my local BB and they still don't have any. All stores around me still show OOS as well. I know it hasn't even been a week since the DOTD, but if they hid them in the back or something, I'm pretty sure they would have restocked by now.

Wait for the "pick up is ready confirmation" email and then you can pick it whenever you want within a 7 days window.

I bet stores are doing this on purpose I don't believe every store in the area sold out by not even being open. PLus some of these stores are 70-80 miles apart.

A few things to note: The DOTD is known about ahead of time (thanks to sites like CAG and SD) AND blasted out to BB.com email subscribers before stores open. A bunch of people wait for it to go live early in the a.m. If they chose in-store pick up their orders are picked hours before the store opens.

My 3 year old woke me up at 6 AM... What was the first thing I did when I woke up? Went to BB.com and ordered a copy of this game for in store pickup. It's not rocket science, people. It bears repeating that the inventory checker isn’t always accurate. I’m not advocating a two hour trip on a hunch but in most cases, even when the inventory claimed it wasn’t in stock, there was a copy in the store when I went to my local BB.

Yes. Drive down to the store and look. I must've tried 5 diff zipcodes around me and every store said unavailable. I went to my closest store and picked up the last copies of the ps3 and 360 (both limited editions from the first run) Also picked up a duke Nukem for 360 for $2.99. Will make a good stocking stuffer lol.
Bottom line is don't trust an online tracker for deal games and also CAG rule #1, NEVER call the store. Just go down and check it out!

In this case, if you got the email, it's probably because 6 orders came before yours and they are definitely out.

I think its the DOTD email for the most part. In my area the deals are a lot easier to get when they are the "Game Only" deals that BBY doesn't send to the masses.

Look for the sign that says in store pickup or ask they guy in yellow at the door where's at. Have your order number handy as well. Either on phone or printed out. Oh and photo Id

I think this might be the case. The store opens at 10 am and I got the email at like 9:30 am. Well me, another game deal lost. I really wanted to play this too. I should have just hid a copy when I was there yesterday.

Do I like racing games? No. Do I like $5 racing games from triple-A franchises that came out in the past year even though they may not have scored the highest on Metacritic? Well hells yes!

Stayed up late last night, ordered my copy. Woke up this morning and noticed this thread's rating went down from 4 stars to 3 stars and thought "Whoa, what happened? Did BB suddenly email everyone and tell them they made a buncha mistakes and they want their unbelievably underpriced games back?"
