I finished the vanilla upon release.

Definitely buying this. Been a while since I bought a day deal. Time to burn a $10 shopkick cert.
I was unaware the GOTY version is "greatest hits" -- it comes in its own packaging.
Pretty sure they did a reprint with the red case and such but I could be wrong.
Tempting just to consolidate 2 into one, got the normal Vanilla Copy and the Undead Nightmare copy.
I'm in sorta the same boat, but have a digital copy of Undead Nightmare. I haven't even played my vanilla copy. Decisions decisions....

Does the GotY have a separate trophy list? In other words, would I have to re-earn the trophies I acquired while playing the vanilla edition when playing the GotY?

absolute favorite game of the past 10 years. I've had it for the 360 for over a year, now I'll be picking it up for the PS3. Triple XP for multiplayer is this weekend, btw.
Is it better on PS3 or 360...debating which version

EDIT: 360 is better after looking at game footage
I think I remember hearing that 360 is a little bit better, but I had no problems playing through the whole game on PS3. It looked great on there as well.
I personally think you guys should pick this up no matter what your backlogs are like.
This game is outstanding, one of my top 3 of all time, and thats coming from someone who doesn't even like Westerns.
...and no, don't get the Vanilla, get this one. You'll be sorry if you choose the vanilla over this one for $15.
Hell, I'm getting a second copy at this price.
I wouldn't call it the top 3 of all time, even of this generation. But otherwise I agree fully, and there is no denying that this is an awesome game. My only complaint is that, aside from deathmatch and the occasional "capture the gold", the online multiplayer is dead. $15 for the main game + Zombie DLC is a steal though.

I'm tempted to get one myself, does anyone know if all the DLC is on the disc? I have the vanilla version, and I bought all the DLC when it was on sale, but if the DLC in this version is all on disc (guessing it is since they sold the DLC on disc for awhile) then it might be worth picking up again just for my collection.

The PS3 version had some exclusive content. Some outfit and an extra hideout or two (basically missions where you ride in and shoot everyone). As far as how it runs, that was by far my biggest problem with the game: There is TONS of pop-in, the only other game I've played that's close to being this bad would be the Assassin's Creed games. I never tried it on the 360 but I've been told it's the same.

The Game of the Year Edition is actually the one and only way to obtain this content for the 360, which is why I really really wanna bite on this... but I currently can't justify fifteen bucks for an outfit and two hideouts when I already own everything else.

^THIS^ if you guys want the COMPLETE game and all DLC for the Xbox 360 buy the GOTY version!

I picked up the GOTY version on release for $49.99 and used a $30 KMart game coupon, well, well worth the price for the content and sheer fun of the game (I'm also a fan of westerns so I might be partial). Mine has the awesome holofoil cover that these won't have, but the game content is the same. BUY IT!

You shouldn't, it's the same game plus the DLC in one nice package.
Great price. I paid $30 and don't regret it.

Still play MP with my friends and triple xp weekend probably get on this weekend.
I really wish more games would offer extra XP weekends, ie Tomb Raider :headache:
Will they honor the Deal of the Day Price all week though?
Buy it now for in store pickup and get week to pick it up.

TR MP is horrible. Just use glitch if you want the platinum.

Guess ill head to BB to pick up a copy and return Tiger Woods PGA 13 since I wi probably never play it...even though it was 12$
It DID come out with a Platinum Hits version, but it still comes with the green case and the discs don't say that they're the Platinum Hits version. I guess you can try to replace the box art if you wanted to.

Ok thanks for that. I have the non PH version sealed so I may pick this up.

These are readily available at NYC stores. I've checked from Noho to Bryant Park. If you're looking for PS3 non greatest hits, then good luck. None were had.

I didn't realize it was included on the 360 version too.

But yeah, the extra content is so NOT worth $15, I mean we are talking minutes of gameplay, not hours.

Thanks, man. I can always check on you to check NYC BB stores for stock.

just curious, if the game is readily available, why did you have to go to more than one bb stores?

So tempting....but my backlog of games is so deep as it is. Its only $20 on Amazon and I can price match at Best Buy if I get to the point where I 'need' to play this.
I was unaware the GOTY version is "greatest hits" -- it comes in its own packaging.
The versions that are black labels are worth a decent amount. One sold for $60 on ebay for the ps3 version recently. Won't be easy to find though.

Bought RDR-GOTY from amazon a while back when it was $20. Still in the backlog so never opened. Ugly red case turned me off though.

BB only had the red case version, so i went to Target and price-matched for their black-label edition.

Gonna trade in my red label to gamestop assuming the value is still legitimate.
