Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?

For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Called in yesterday and they added 500 points to my account. Then checked today and the $10 reward cert for preordering finally hit. So I got an extra $10. Thank you Best Buy!
 
So with everyone waiting on the BF2 cert this made their process a bit more clear as one of the reps on the forum said they have to wait until a certain date and only then can they begin to give out the certs....manually....account by account.

 
Sorry for my ignorance but how do you tell if a $10 reward cert is added to your account for a particular pre-order item?

 
I too got my 500pts for BF2 today.

OP udated:  Changed "Far Cry 5"'s release date from 2/27/18 to 3/27/18.

 
Got mine too. Now to decide if I should it to get Bioshock Collection for $6 or hold off and use it toward Far Cry 5.
 
Lol i got my 500 points also and i called 2 days ago because I haven't gotten it yet. I guess i got 1000 points then haha. Figure after 3 weeks it was best to call as usually get it within a week.

 
Not only did I get the 500 for calling but also the auto 500 today. I was able to get my purchase price matched to $24 glitch.

$4 for battlefront 2 works for me!
 
If you pre-ordered Assassin's Creed Origins and received it on October 29 or later, you should be able to PM with the Holiday Return policy. On sale for $39.99 today (only?). Supposed to be on sale next week for $44.99.

 
Of course 2 days after I preorder my vanilla copy of Far Cry 5, Ubisoft announces a Far Cry 3 Classic Edition for the PS4 included in the season pass of FC5. Time to cancel and get the gold edition.

Far Cry 3 alone is worth the season pass, the rest of the dlc is a bonus.
 
I let my gcu sub end some time ago but last night i subbed for 2 yrs again. I remember before i was given a b2g1free coupon for subbing.

How has gcu changed in that regard? What coupons do you get upon subbing and how long until they email it/them to you?

(Obviously i know about the passive stuff we get like 20% off games, the new release stuff this thread cover, 10% extra trade in etc)

I just have no idea what the initial coupon(s) is and the checklist on bb is vague as well

Reupped mine about 2 weeks ago and have never received any coupons. I'm debating if it's worth even messing with them over.

b2g1free for new games is a big deal though especially if there is a random sale that we can stack the coupon with. That's why I'm curious to know if b2g1free or a similar coupon is still guaranteed since the gcu checklist on the bb site hints at it.

I had to subscribe in a hurry last night to use the $10 credit from the pick up in store promo. So some details of the recent gcu program elude me.

Anyone else wanna chime in?
I bought the sub online not in store if that matters.

Also i wanna get a ce and a coupon of some kind would soften the blow for me.

True but they will sell Far Cry 3 remastered standalone eventually. But now I’m rethinking my vanilla preorder as well. Damn you Ubisoft! Lol

also, they just changed the price of the wolfenstein II CE back to $100 overnight. It was $50 since late last yr. and i was waiting on a slight price drop to get it. guess i'm screwed :whistle2:(

So what would happen if you cancelled Far Cry 5 if it was on an order with the $30 pickup discounts and other games? Would the discount just move to the other games on the order?

I'm afraid I dont know what discount youre talking about. I ordered mine with 2 different giftcards and a $10 reward, and when I cancelled all of my payments got refunded and I re-used them on the gold edition.

The $10 coupons from making pickup orders in December. Yep I’m still not sure if I should grab the gold or not. Spent a lot of time with FC3 and 4.

Thats a bummer, you will be alright tho. only thing you would be missing is the steelbook cover I think, and some in-game skins. If anything you could try to upgrade in store and explain your situation.

Maybe I just never noticed before, but have they always offered $10 rewards for the digital versions of games? I thought it was just for physical versions.

I'm looking at Far Cry 5 and it looks like they have the Digital Gold version for PS4 with a $10 rewards included. (Although this is still $10 more than it would be for the physical version after GCU).

It's somewhat pretty recent - they started it maybe a few months ago? Good for those that want digital.

 
I want to get the Gold edition for XB1 but it show COMING SOON, anybody else seeing that?

Finally showed up, but can't ship it only store pickup and my store doesn't have it.

I'm really hoping they don't take Far Cry 5 off before March 18 - I want to cancel my regular pre-order to upgrade to the Gold Edition, but I can't do it before March 18 so I can spend the $15 credit I got for buying a $150 gift certificate a couple weeks back.
