Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?

For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

I've had 500 points pending for over a month for Rage 2... Did BB increase the time is takes for pending points to post to your account?

 
Sadly, my GCU expires next week.:(  A bit of good news is the 25% off games coupon was sent to me earlier this week so I can use it when my membership is still active.

I think I'll get the Jedi game with the $10 bonus (would be $36 after coupon).  Too bad Cyberpunk Collector's  Edition isn't available.  After GCU and 25% off coupon, that would have been big savings.

A bit of warning regarding the coupon:  When you receive the coupon via email, the coupon code isn't in the email.  You'll have to click a link that directs you to the BB site to get the coupon.  Copy the coupon code, because you may not be able to access the coupon page again.  That's what happened to me, the link wouldn't take me to the coupon page after the first time.  Others have had this issue too, as reported in BB's forums.

 
^Good info and condolences on the loss. I think there's been lots of confusion (along with some poor implementation) of these GCU exits. Now they got to fix people not getting their coupons altogether.

Yea, it was great while it lasted.=) I took advantage of the membership to try a lot of games for free on release day. Paid $48, play it for a few days and then sold it for what I paid.

The trade in promo was mentioned in this weeks ad. 10$ coupon + trade in value when you trade Madden 19.

No problem! I was happy to see they kept this promotion going since it seems like the EA sports games aren't getting the 10 dollar preorder treatment this year. Still the best deal for Madden 20 for those of us who have GCU for a while longer.

Yeah, this is my last hurrah with GCU, so I figured I might as well get it one more time. Going to be tougher to justify full price if EA doesn't start making huge leaps with the game though.

Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately, I feel like next year will probably be even more of a pre-next gen cash in. Luckily, I still have GCU until 10/2022 so I have a few more years to keep buying the same game :).

 
Wow, I swore off of physical copies but to get Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition for $80 (GCU) and $10 Rewards?  What an awesome deal.

I'm going to miss ya, GCU.

 
I know this is off topic, but does anybody know when Best Buy sends the final coupon for GCU? Mine expires Aug. 12, so I was assuming it might be sent today. Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, they give you only a few days notice and then it expires pretty quick. They might be doing people favors with it, but the kindness is heavy-handed.

 
Since Madden got no $10, Fifa seems like it will get the same treatment, bummer. Been doing the trade-in deals for 3 years and they were the best!

GCU never worked on digital (if that was what you were asking). The $10 reward works on digital though.

The $20 discount it too much to pass up, plus I will be playing so much of it that the disc will live in my Xbox anyway. I'll trade it in and pick up the digital version later on the cheap.

 
So my GCU expired several months ago and in preparation I made a bunch of pre-orders. Checked in on some of them today and about half of them had a shipping charge added to them ($1-$5 depending on the order).

Called support in order to have it removed (since I'm an Elite member) and they told me that modifying the order would remove the GCU discount. So I'd either have to pay the shipping charge that was mysteriously added or not get the 20% off.

Probably going to cancel most of the pre-orders and wait for price drops instead. I don't really want to continue supporting a company that's going to give me the runaround.

Yeah, that's garbage. Probably plenty to keep playing until newer games drop anyway. At least, that's where I'm at once WoW classic drops lol.

Ordered :ps4: Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition. I was going to get the regular edition, but decided to go big since I love the Borderlands franchise (and still have GCU to bring it down to $80). Supposedly, the SDE's price is going to increase from $100 to $120 on September 17.

I recommend those that ordered Pokemon to take a screenshot of that page just in case you need to prove $10 eligibility later on.

$10 e-gift card has been added to the upcoming fantasy RPG entitled GreedFall. Since my friend still has GCU until late October, getting the game for $30 is great!!! Woohoo!!!

 
I didn't know about the potential price increase for SDE. Glad I opted for the SDE :pS4: version as well.
