▼ Read Me! FAQ ▼ Pre-Order $10 Program
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?
- From BestBuy Support Forums (link):
For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Maybe a week before.....and don’t wait to use it last minute. I think I tried buying a game after already using my coupon and GCU didn’t work the day before it was supposed to expire.
mine came a week before and I was able to stack with my GCU. I picked up MUA3 for 30 bucks at release.

Best Buy is having a 3-Day sale starting Friday and one of the deals is a free $25 gift card when you spend $99+ on PS4/XB1 games (Excludes preorders, collectors, deluxe and digital editions).

ROFL, so basically at best a 25% discount that devalues if you spend a dime over the $99. Now IF that stacks with GCU, we're in business since two full price games would be $96 but may trigger the GC given the original price was over $99. If not, I'm sure there's gotta be a cheap filler lurking within the bargain bin that could flip to GS for net zero.

Their exclusions make zero sense though. I can't see how they wouldn't want to clear out old CEs faster. And lets be honest about digital: it would only apply to X1 now which is a complete wash.

Anyone know the proper way/method to price adjust a game that came with a $10 certificate combined with gcu to not have the $10 cert get returned on your account?

The computer reads gcu as a bundle so it got processed as a return which took the 500 points off after the fact. Ex. NBA 2K20 was $31.99 yesterday with gcu.

Thanks in advance.

If its an online order, I always just jump on Chat and they pricematch without returning.

Had to go into the store after Chat and 800# were useless and would only refund $7 because of RZ certs.  After a short wait they fixed NBA2K20 PM and just gave me a $15 gift card.  It rarely ever is easy, luckily had to go in anyways, traded MLB Show since it was free on PS+ for $15, and picked up DOA6.  Put it all on COD for friday.

This should still work on everything releasing this week, correct? I'd love to get Outer Worlds and maybe Modern Warfare with at least one other game through this promo.

Outer Worlds, Modern Warfare and MediEvil is what I'm thinking about. Glad I saw this before I pre-ordered MW for the $10 cert. I'm assuming/hoping using reward certs won't invalidate the gift card offer.

EDIT: I have early access to the 3 day sale but I'm not seeing anything about the $25 gift card with $99+ of PS4/XB1 games.

in the past buying on release date also got the $10 cert for preordering, wonder if that will work in this case for MW

I still have GCU so I put Modern Warfare and Outer Worlds in my cart along the with the $25 gift card to test it out and the gift card does still end up being free. Also, the 10% birthday discount stacks with GCU which I don't believe it did before.

Regretting not pre-ordering Modern Warfare for the $10 cert because I could have put MediEvil and the forgotten about until now Concrete Genie with Outer Worlds for the $99.

It looks like at least some CEs are working too- I added the Catherine and Control CEs and the giftcard zeroed out.

I've got all XB1 and PS4 games in my cart with no preorders or deluxe editions, but I'm not seeing a gift card.  Do I need to do something special to receive it?

Try adding the gift card at the bottom of this page.
Gah!

I had missed that. Thank you!

I can confirm that I was able to receive the gift card for free after adding only two $60 games that were reduced to around $95 after GCU. I didn't spend $100, but I received the GC, so it must look at the total BEFORE GCU is applied.

Pretty damned nice.

Does anyone know if it works with all in stock PS4 and XB1 games or just select titles?  I'm thinking of going through all the clearance and cheap games and just order a bunch of them that I have had my eye on.  Don't want to waste my time though if it doesn't.  I may be able to try it if I get some down time at work.

If you click the "See all eligible PS4 games" (or whatever) link on the promo page, you're taken to 600+ results that include clearance titles, so it looks like all PS4/XB1 games currently released should qualify.

Looks like you can place multiple orders and still get the free gift card each time. Ordered Modern Warfare and Outer Worlds with the $25 GC showing up in the cart as free then put Indivisible, Concrete Genie and MediEvil along with the $25 GC in my cart and the GC is also free with that order.

This promo is sweet. I picked up on PS4 Indivisible, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Layer, Dark Souls Remastered and Evil Within 2 with GCU and a birthday coupon for $93 and a free $25 gift card.

Amazing, I'm not sure what games I'd want but I'll have to look now. . .maybe outer worlds. . .

OH fuck, Outer Worlds is free on GPU. :O Whelp, BB just lost a sale haha!

I preordered COD, but pick it up today, I wonder if I can buy a game in store and have them PM it.

Dont forget Outer Worlds is free in Game Pass, I almost bought it, this game isnt getting much attention due to COD, but looks cool.

I need to get in the habit now of checking if a game is on GPU even before considering a purchase. I'd rather play most games on PS4 but with a SP game like this, easily rather pay nothing and get to see if I'd even want to buy it on PS4 if I end up loving it.

no more GCU after 11/9  :whee: , definitely will be buying less... anyway this was a good deal.  Added some games to my fighting collection.

76.78 after a 10 rewards cert and GCU for FighterZ, Cross Tag battle, Tekken7, SF 30th anniversary, and a 25$ gift card.... not too shabby

In case anyone cares, Instore I added nba to my cod preorder receipt purchase and with gcu it came t0 $80ish and kicked out the $25 gift card in store. So you also fulfill your $10 cert preordering/purchase obligation.

So, I'm glad I read this first before I went to BB to pickup COD.  I had already bought 2 games this week so I went in to PM.  They were awesome.  I printed out what my cart would have looked like with Hello Neighbor and Street Outlaws in it also, showing the $25 card for free.  They just grabbed a card and gave it to me.

COD-$10 GC   47.99

Street outlaws-$10 GC   31.99

Hello Neighbor HnS-3.99

$25 GC for bundle.

Not bad at all, $45 in GC.
