To clear up any confusion, front row games are the games that are displayed at the checkout counters in large blue boxes. All the games have big white stickers with their prices on them. They range in price from 4.99-14.99. These are NOT normal stocked items, nor are they the yellow stickered items found in the normal game section. Some stores are now moving these games into their normal stock sections, but they will still have the white stickers on them. If they do not have a white sticker, they are NOT a front row game.

********
Etymology of the phrase "Front Row" *******************
********************************************************

The term front row game stems from the name on a receipt for these items. They will all show up with the generic title Front Row instead of their actual names. The term does not specifically have to do with the fact that these games are found in the front row of a store, although that was where they originally were found. If you find a game without a sticker in the front row of a store, IT IS NOT A FRONT ROW GAME. It is only a Front Row game if it has a white sticker with a price tag along with a white upc sticker covering the original sticker.

**********************************************************

**PLEASE READ THIS FIRST ***
Ratchet & Clank for 9.99 is a Frontrow Game ONLY. We all know it's 40 on the website. All frontrow games are NOT normal stock games and will not show up online. These prices are good IN STORE only.

I was at my Best Buy earlier this morning and there were a lot of games there, but when I went there in the afternoon about an hour ago, a ton of games were pulled out... either someone went on a game buying rampage or something is going on.

I'm willing to bet hoarder

4.99 Hajime No Ippo 2 Victorious Road. I'll be happy if i can find it at my local BB. Look like another trip to my local BB stores tomorrow.

:hot: :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot: Your right they are restocking the games every once in a while in the front but the catch is that the new upc sticker they put on is goin to say a different price....but if you take the sticker off then it will be the clearance price since it will ring up the original upc....dont get caught
Hm...maybe if I can find One Piece Grand Adventure then sure.
Bloody awful dub voices aside, the game is quite fun and definately worth the price.

Don't I know it...real awful dub indeed. Though I'm really just in for the gameplay. Plus the last one I need so might as well try to see if I can get it at this price.

I noticed some new front row titles that were not there before as well:

DragonBall GT Transformation (GBA) $9.99
Zatchbell! Electric Arena (GBA) $9.99
The Bible Game (Xbox) $4.99
Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift (PS2) $4.99
One Piece: Grand Adventure (GC) $9.99
Ultimate Block Party (PSP) $9.99

Tons of others too, although no A-list titles. The UPC stickers on the front row games are super sticky and leave an obvious gooey residue when you peel them off. I wouldn't recommend you doing it to begin with though for many reasons.

I guess you can use the $5 off coupon with these although I havent tried it yet. So you can still get some quailty games for $5.

I saw these at the Best Buy near me:

PS2
Nano Breaker
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

GBA
Gunstar Super Heroes

These were priced at $9.99 when I was there Sunday. There were some other games, but they're either already listed or I can't remember what they were.

That is fraud, it's sad that the store is too stupid to update the inventory with the right prices. Placing a sticker on the game is pointless. They should just update the computers with the correct prices. Isn't that the whole purpose of the POS system???!!! I swear some managers are just dumb.
No one mentions Fire Emblem : Sacred Stones (GBA) is $9.99 also at BB
If you can find it. It's been long gone in the SF Bay Area stores.

FE:SS GBA has been $10 at my BB for months now, and I cannot bring myself to buy it.

Another of my BBs has some nice stuff up front, cream of the crop being 007:EoN (forgot which system) for $15, 007:FRWL(Cube) for $10, and Advance Guardian Heroes (GBA) for $10.

Advance Guardian Heroes ... i been looking for this $ucker since i got Gunstar Super Heroes. I wonder the 1st game is any better comparing with Treasure Gunstar super Heroes.
I got Transformers for PS2 for 4.99. I didn't even think of using the coupon though.
I think YMMV with using the $5 off coupon with games under the $5 mark, unless you get a cooperative cashier.

I used eight or nine in a single purchase - along with nine of the free 300 promo DVDs. Pretty good haul.

I'd doubt it, as it does specifically say "ANY game". Unless they advance the argument that these are clearence and thus not regularly priced titles, they shouldn't have an issue.

I picked up FE SS for 9.99 and a copy of duel masters kaijudo showdown for 1.99(from the other clearance).

Advance Guardian Heroes is VERY different from the original, but this is because they are both a product of their times. GH had the whole mindless beat-em-up, juggle with massive combos, lame your enemies before they lame you thing down. AGH provides something a bit more technical, something that brings to mind the damage avoidance of Viewtiful Joe mixed with the simpler, yet still deep (The word is 'intuitive') control system of Smash Bros.

Needless to say, AGH pissed the GH fans off, while not winning many new converts with its poor translation and crappy character design (Well, apart from the original GH chars who perform as well as can be expected in the new system.). Still, it is an enjoyable little Smash Bros.-y type game for the GBA, especially if you go through the tedium to unlock the full roster of characters. Playing 4-man free for alls against the AI is fun, especially because finding 4 dudes who own this game and can link up is nigh impossible.

Indeed. I still play Guardian Heroes on the Saturn once in a while, but I touched Advance Guardian Heroes on the GBA only once.

My Best Buy had next to nothing even worth nabbing. They did, however, have Street Fighter Alpha Anthology for $9.99 on the PS2. Phantasy Star Universe for the 360 was beside it and other clearanced items, but had no price labeled. It was nearby items labeled at $9.99, so I'm assuming that was the price. Was suprising to see that price on Lego Star Wars II (original trilogy).

Has anyone gotten cought doing this or know anyone who has? I don't think it is much trouble since at my BB at least it is usually hard to find anyone, when i got my PS3 took me over 10 minutes to find someone who could help me buy it (they were locked in a cage). I wonder what the worst they could do is...just make you leave the store? Does BB ever 'ban' customers?

Are you serious.. Street Fighter Alpha Anthology Rangup $10 ??
Are you serious.. Street Fighter Alpha Anthology Rangup $10 ??
I didn't grab it (stupid of me), but they had a good number of copies leftover and they had a hand-written tag on the rack that said it was $9.99. I'm so grabbing it next chance I get.

Funny thing with technology. Ya see, there's this thing called a "security camera." They use those to watch over customers who might try any funny business. ;P

Yeah, but unlike the batch last year, these coupons do not work on $4.99 and below games. They have to override with a manual adjustment to $0, and that is highly unlikely. At that point they can (if they are any good as cashiers or managers) examine the coupon more closely and spot the "no copies" clause . So I wouldn't push trying to get the $4.99 stuff for free. However, the coupons work wonders on the $9.99 games making them $4.99. The only time I tried a $4.99 game recently they just said it didn't apply (since it didn't work automatically). I didn't raise a fuss because I didn't want the manager involved since there were other things I wanted more in the same transaction that I WAS able to use the coupons on.

I also think people are mixing up and confusing this whole UPC sticker issue. The UPC stickers are placed there because these games are DIFFERENT stock from the main games - these were purchased form a distributor specifically for placement near the registers (as impulse buys like candy). However, all the prices quoted here ($4.99 and $9.99, though there are $14.99 ones too) ARE the prices with the stickers. I would imagine some would even ring up HIGHER with the original UPCs. So there's absolutely no need to peel off the UPC stickers (nor should you, as someone else pointed out, because it is fraud).

There are a few that were part of the $1.99 clearance that are $14.99 with the stickers - like Urbz for the DS. And some that were $1.99 that are $9.99 with the stickers (like Sega Classics and Nanobreaker). However, the better games (FE:SS, One Piece, etc) are pretty cheap as is WITH the stickers, especially if you use a coupon.

Got lucky and found some clearanced games I had never seen before in a yellow bin. I snagged Sprung(DS) and The Urbz(DS) both for 1.99 and then picked up Sly Cooper for 4.99. =D
my bestbuy in socal had Loco Roco PSP for $21.99, and Untold Legends for PS3 for $24.99
Location. NAAAOOOOOWWWW!!!

Just picked up Star Ocean: Till the end of Time PS2, Shaman King and Megaman Battle Network 6 both GBA for 4.99 each. This store had a ton of games in the 4.99 to 9.99 range. I'm trying to remember what else they had....

Seriously, is it that hard to list the store location?

Especially when you say they had a ton of games in the $5-$10 range, other CAGers in your area may want to get in on the action.

I got both of the different One Piece games for GC. Rang up at $9.99 each, then used a $5 coupon for each. Thanks, OP !

(Cashier asked the manager since she thought they were "clearance" games, but the manager said to do it. The bar codes don't scan well on the copies, but I didn't see "No Copies" on the coupons anyway.)

EDIT: Morse Rd. Best Buy in Columbus, Ohio. Slim pickens, but still had a few games.

I haven't printed the new ones, but the 2/10 - 3/31 that I've been using all say "No Copies" in the fine print. Granted, that print is small enough that it is hard to read, but it is in there.

On the other hand, I've never had problems with them scanning (if they do it right - see below). Try increasing the contrast before printing.

They will have problems scanning if they are in the wrong register mode though - this seems to happen frequently (I think it needs to be entered just like any other item they scan - if they've moved on to the payment phase it doesn't accept the scan. A few times this has resulted in calls to the manager who then just tells them they did it wrong ;)).

No go for Street Fighter Anthology (PS2) and Locl Roco (PSP) both rangup full price. Ouch..... what a trip. Aslo, i see couple Donkey Kong NES Classic but not sure how much it cost ?? Atleast i scored Klonoa 2 (GBA) for $5.
