Ok I know much of this is already been posted in other threads, but here is the list of markdowns for this week. Some 4.99 games abd new .01 guides.

Again I know much of this is posted so withhold the sarcasm. Maybe there's something here that was overlooked.

I feal like hitting myself... yesterday i visited 2 BB and got some free games... but didn't realize the price drops of the guides... and there were a ton of them!... gah.. genna have to take another 5hr bus trip again... bleh
 
Was able to get a Xeno II, RE4, Jak 3, and Tekken 5 from the Santana Row BB...still a bunch of Jak 3's (they are marked .01 on the shelf so I doubt they will be there long), some fight night 2's, KOTOR II's, and a few others so hopefully some CAG can snag some penny guides before they pull them.
 
anyone find any other markdowns? just wondering...

also, pick up tomb raider for the PS2 +coupon not because of the free game, but because it includes a free red barron's stuffed frozen pizza. I am not joking either. Best deal for those in need of food.

My BB also had one Astro Boy left, so I picked it up for $5. I couldn't hold any longer on the Astro Boy even though I hear the PS2 version isn't good.

They also had two Classic NEW Castlevanias left so we both picked up one of those. $5 for any Classic NES series game is the perfect price point. That's the same price I picked up Xevious when Kmart had it on 50% off.

They didn't have THUG (GBA) or I would have gotten one of those and they didn't have any PSX games at all (the only one I really wanted was the DBZ game).

Now I see that 1080 Avalanche has gone 19.99. Time to GGC that sucker. Wasn't able to get one for $9.99 when EB had it as apart of one of their sales since I couldn't find it in any store.

Which Best Buy did you go to? It sounds like that one is cleaned out by now.

There are some guides that I could actually use this time around (Jak 3, Fight Night, RE4, Tekken 5).
 
just went to another BB in my area and they were cleaned out. there was only a tekken 5 left, and i picked it up. so far all you socal CAGers don't go to the BB in west covina.

Are you kidding? I passed on 2 Astro Boys today! Doesn't matter though....I don't have time to run around and play the trade in game. For anyone that is interested....there were 2 Astro Boys at the Orland Park BB as of about 3pm today.

EDIT: By the way....if anyone wants to pick up Xenosaga II, Resident Evil 4 and Metal Gear Solida Ac!d guides for me, it would be appreciated. If you're looking to make a bunch of money on 'em don't bother though...I don't want them that bad. I'd pay a few bucks each.
 
I went to the best buy at the mall of georgia to try to grab a couple of guides and as soon as I get near the guides I see one of the all-time top 10 ugliest dudes just tearing through the racks, I'm talking hall-of-fame ugly. He had a couple of goth girls stuffing his bags full of guides while he was reading his full-page printout outloud. Needless to say I went to two more nearby BB's and not one guide was to be found. I would have been really mad that he was hoarding all the guides, but he was so god-awful ugly that I kind of felt sorry for him and didn't confront him... Hey man, if you a CAG I feel for you, I mean DAMN! your ugly!
 
Picked up a RE4 guide, Astro Boy and Tomb Raider all for .01. The rest of the guides, a friend of mine who works there said were sent out yesterday morning :cry: Thanks for the great deal on what I did get though OP!
 
i just picked up the xenosaga2, tekken5 x2, resident evil 4, and dmc3 guides. just as i grabbed them, an employee came by with a cart and removed the rest....

The always nice BB in Ann Arbor, MI had 3x Breakdown's left, and guides aplenty. I picked up singles of: NFSU 2, RE4, Fight Night Rd.2, Tekken 5, Xenosaga, SW: RC, and Devil May Cry 3. This BB marks em down to .01 and leaves em all out...nice. If anyone needs any of the guides, let me know and we can trade something possibly.

I got the last copy of GBA NES Classic Castlevania (WOO!) and the Xeno 2 and Tekken 5 Guides (last of each!) all for a whopping $5.45.

I love CAG.

Well, if they have it, I can just sell it to you for cost. But I'm not sure they have it...I'll be going there momentarily.
 
Hit up my BB this afternoon...and of course, they had already cleared the penny guides and there were none of the $5 games in stock. Not one. I fail to understand how every time games drop to $5, it's like my store NEVER has them in stock.
 
I went to elyria. ohio today and found gc ncaa football 2005, ncaa march madness 2005 ps2 and astro boy ps2. Also got dmc3, tekken 5, republic commando and xenosaga guides. They still had 2 astro boy and a few of each guide.
 
Picked up some of the clearance stuff today (Astro Boy, March Madness, two copies of the Metal Gear Ac!d guide--total cost of two cents :D ).... looking to trade my Metal Gear Ac!d guide for either a RE4 guide or a Xenosaga II guide....
 
hi alls, the fullerton, CA BB still has at least 20 penny guides left. word of warning though, i overheard 2 different employees saying some unpleasant things regarding the guides. the first one said he was going to buy them all during his break to sell on ebay and the second said she would buy them all for a penny b/c they were so cheap (even though she mentioned she doesn't play video games). anyhoo, good luck to everybody who goes there :lol:

Well, my Xbox 360 and 5 games are all paid for thanks to penny guides. Total cost for system, second controller 5 games, 64MB memory card, remote control and headset.... 48 cents, thanks Best Buy!

It was the Marks Street BB. I always call it the Stephanie store since that really is the major street over there and I get the two confused for some reason. My guess is that eitehr the crappy employees that work at that store or somebody else by now have cleaned out that store of what ever was left.

I know there are no Castlevanias or Astro Boys left, but you might be able to find some Breakdowns because I think I remember seeing like 3 or 4 of those, but I didn't want one since I already have one that I got last year from CC for $10.

Guessing here... but... get 40 guides and sell on ebay for 9.99 each with free shipping or something. Use media mail for shipping and make $7.50 per guide. This would put you $300 closer to XBOX 360.

The bb in my area had a few guides, but most were picked by the store to distribute with the games. They had copies of Tekken 5, and NFSU 2 and a few others, and created empty boxes with these copies, with the message added of 'see customer associate for help with this item'. It seems they had the copies pulled and were distributing them to customers who bought the game, as an incentive. They had a few copies of Metal Gear acid, and a bunch of pikmin 2 (left over). If any of you still need one of these or MGS3, PM me. I'm looking for DM3, and Ninja Gaiden. I'll also ship these at cost if you need them.

I always wonder why more stores don't do this. Makes more sense than trashing them.
 
I picked up at one BB location:

Astro Boy - Free
Breakdown - 5 bucks

All penny guides were gone though and the cashier gave me the hardest time about the freakin 5 dollar off coupon. He thought my coupon 'corrupted' his register, since Astro Boy was marked 40 bucks still on the sticker. He went over to another register to just ring the game up to see what it would come up as..I told him to not take it so personally, come back over here and just ring me up, with the coupon. As he was doing that, I clued him in on the glorious world of markdowns and clearance items.

Not to go home empty handed with the guides, I went to another BB and got:

MGA guide
RE4 guide
Clue DVD - 7 bucks

This guy had no problem with the coupon, but the guides he was astounded by. He called for a price check on them, but when no one was responding, I told him the truth about them..every few months, BB and other stores pennies out their guides to clear space. I told him there were tons back there left if he was interested, including a few games I didnt get guides for. He didnt bother waiting for a price check after that, just checked me out and let me on my way. He was cool the whole time, didn't make me feel like I was cheating him, just was generally curious I believe.
 
I work at the Best Buy in Portsmouth, NH and the people I work with don't seem to care. I went to my BB today (I wasn't working) and saw we had a bunch of the guides that were .01. I work in PC so I don't know much about media, but after price checking and confirming the 1 cent price, I got so excited I grabbed them all. I asked someone I know in media if it would matter and he said the cashier might not let me buy more than three of the same guide. Turns out she didn't care and I have some for trade if anyone's interested:

2x Resident Evil 4
5x Fight Knight Round 2
I wasn't trying to be greedy, but I was worried they'd throw stuff out if I didn't get it all. I was disappointed that they didn't have Psi-Ops, so if anyone has it and wants to trade for a couple guides, that would be great. I'm also interested in the KOTOR2 guide.
