:bomb: The values in the Lists do not match the values in the Estimator. What's up with that?
I don't know. It seems the Lists are usually updated on Sundays, and the TIVs are adjusted to reflect the List in a few days. But as trades are made, the TIVs may change and the Lists are not updated frequently. Again, check the Estimator for latest TIV.

The promo says "Trade 2..." or "Trade 3..." but I only want to trade 1 game, will I still get $x amount?
You will get whatever TIV is offered according to the Estimator for each game. The promo is titled "Trade 2" etc to make the giftcards sound more lucrative.

The 2 games I want to trade are worth more than $60 combined according to the Estimator. Does that mean I will only get $60 for the 2 games?
No. You will get whatever TIV is offered according to the Estimator for each game. For example, if your total according to the Estimator is $70, you will get a $70 giftcard.

:bomb: If I locked in a trade online, and the value drops, will I still get the locked in value when I mail it in?
Yes. You will get the locked in TIV as long as you ship it before the "Ship by" date "Your item(s) must be received within 14 days to get the quoted value" (as of 5/2), and your games are received in the condition you declared.

How long do I have after I lock in a trade online before I have to ship it?
30 days. Has been recently changed to "Your item(s) must be received within 14 days to get the quoted value".

Can you lock in the price online then trade it in-store?
No.

Is there a limit to how many games I can trade in?
According to BB: "We will not accept more than 3 games of the same title and platform from a customer (or address) in a year. Please do not submit more than the limit as excess submissions WILL NOT BE RETURNED." Example, you can trade 3 copies of Portal 2 for PS3 and 3 copies of Portal 2 for x360 without problems. Some people have been banned from trade-ins at BB due to the violation of this policy. If you plan on trading more than 3 copies of a game per platform by doing it through various stores, you do so at your own risk and discretion.

:bomb: Can I trade game disc only, or do I need the case and manuals, too?
BB used to be strict about complete copies, but this has changed, and ppl are trading games in store without manuals or cover sleeve for full TIV. If you trade online it's sometimes YMMV. I would advise you to send in complete games (case, disc, manual) since some ppl are reporting only getting 50% of the locked TIV.

I see people talking about getting Amazon giftcards by trading at Best Buy. How are they doing that?
Some Best Buys sell Kindle giftcards which can be used on Amazon.com like regular Amazon giftcards. You will not get the Kindle card with your trade, but you can buy them with your BB giftcard.

When I do a in-store trade, I am asked: to be fingerprinted, to have my photo taken, how much I weigh, etc. What's the deal?
Pawn shop laws regulating trade-ins and resale of used goods varies from state to state or city to city. It is not Best Buy's rule, and varies from store to store depending on where you live.

I went to a store to do a trade-in and they asked for a Best Buy receipt. WTF?
According to BB's own FAQ:
Q: Is trade-in limited to items I bought at Best Buy?
A: No.
I don't know why this happens, but apparently some stores do not have their system setup to take non-BB purchased items at this time. Check the link above regarding stores that do video games trade-ins first.

I have a question
I have 2 games on the list (trade in 2 for $60) but on the trade in estimator, both games are no longer $30
If I trade those 2 in, will I get $60

I'm going to try to figure this out. I have two games to trade in and I have to pick up a gift card from the other day. I'll see if the two games I trade in get an automatic bonus or not. I'll then post the games and any other info I receive.

Thank god I locked my trades in yesterday. 6 BOs and a couple Crysis 2s and Dead Space 2s. Would have lost $50 or so if I delayed to today :D

Ahh. No wonder they dropped the values by 25% or so. Too bad my BB doesn't do trade ins so I'm stuck with the online values.

Yeah Dead Rising 2, Bulletstorm, LA Noire are all higher.

MANY of the lower priced games stayed the same so you will get slightly more.

The promotion says any 2 or more games. Just look up the OP and click on the Trade In estimator link. Search for your game, then add 30% to that value.
 
Went in last night and got 150 dollar gift card:)

Trades were (3) TW2, BulletStrom and Brink emplyee bought Crysis off me for 30 bucks as well. Prices were locked in as promised when the machines were down. I'm happy!

Just got DA 2 and Shift 2, a store rep walked up to me and said +30% on any games you trade in, didn't say how long the deal would last. here it is, on the featured offers. In store and online.
EDIT: After checking some major game trade in values, prices have dropped but games like Dead Space 2 + another game will get 32 credit for Dead Space 2 alone.

Only problem is everytime I go to trade something in the damn system is down and it won't work. I tried twice to trade in Dance Central at BB and the system was screwed up so I just gave up and traded it in at Gamestop.
 
Hey, just got back from BB. Traded in my entire ps3 collection 21 games for $138, with 30% promo it added 41 bringing up to $178.
Promo works with ANY 2 games, and brings up value by 30% for all games you trade in.
And, btw, I checked yesterday, my games were worth $142 to them, it only dropped $4 today. $3 in RDD and $1 in another game I forget.

Finally received my credit this morning. Manager that said she would honor it wasn't there but left a note in my game for the manager on shift today. Went in today and got $45 for my three copies of two worlds 2. I also received the 30% bonus on top of them matching the $15 per copy drop. In the end I received 58.50 base + 45 price adjust gc. Stressed about it most of the weekend but, I am glad everything turned out.

That sounds terrible... unless most of your games are old?
 
I wish there was a definite list for this. But it sounds like it's probably most games I want to try and trade in (Dead Rising 2, Call of Duty, Reach, etc.) Hopefully they don't drop fast haha

If did my math correct, Bulletstorm at $25 TIV will give more than the $30 each last week, except that you have to trade in 2 now. That seems better with the 30% stacked to give $32.50 instead.

Well remember Bulletstorm counts as an EA game so it's hit or miss with the B2G1 offer from GS.

Dead Rising 2 B2G1 w/ 10% discount from Gamestop would be $48.58 (not including tax) and trade to 78 (so still $30)
 
I haven't been following the trade threads recently but I do remember reading something about EA trouble so that's a good point. Also the GC I have is a little over $55 so I wouldn't mind getting rid of it all today but that's a pretty solid turnover so I might just do that. Thanks Cross

Do they have TIV for games not in the estimator too? I have a few sports games that have no TIV on their website so am curious if they'll accept them or not. For eg. Madden NFL 2010 for PS3 has no TIV online.
 
30% is automatic.

Traded in a copy of Two Worlds II and two copies of Dead Rising 2 for the Xbox thanks to GameStop's B2G1 sale. Unfortunately, my first copy of Two Worlds II had a crack in the center, so I had to run back to GameStop before finally doing the trade. $71.50 total for me. Yay! Helped pay for Zelda 3DS and a few other games.
 
can you trade in 3 games and get the 30% or does it have to be 2 every time?
Hope the games I ordered from Gohastings arrive tomorrow

The Black Ops would've given an extra $5 GS credit if you waited until July 1st, but wherever you want the credit.

$25 + 40% + 10%PUR = $37.50

Other than having to wait until then or you don't like GS credit.
