It won't be helpful unless the person preorders at your local store. Once a store sells out of its preorder allocation, that's it. The only way to know for sure is to go down there and try yourself.
 
I successfully preorder survival edition at store sunday. Note: The preorder sku is not longer valid so u have to give them the survival edition sku to the system and then it will work.
 
Just pre-ordered The Last of Us. First time doing so since I've been an Unlocked member. This and GTA V will the first games I've pre-ordered in years.

Same thing happened to me. I had to call customer service today and they did manually enter the $20 reward certificate into my account.

Just did it today, but I got $5 back only because of the $5 deposit bug not taking off on my purchase. Feel free to try stacking the $10 injustice gamer coupon, YMMV.
 
Did anyone else get a pick-up ready e-mail for Last of Us this morning? It was clearly an error, but it's showing on my account that the game is ready for pickup which might mean it will cancel my preorder if I don't pick it up within a week. Very annoying.

It worked for me but only as an ”exchange” and not a ”price match.”

The PM wouldn't stack with the coupon since the POS is coded to not combine PM's with other discounts. The only way I can think if getting it to work is a manual PM override.

Yeah I got this as well if they don't send an email soon with the revised date Im guessing we will have to call and get this fixed :(
 
I got an email saying that the release date for the Survival Edition was changed to 5/7, but an hour later, I received another email saying it was changed to 6/14 (what it was originally). :???:
 
What happened to this promotion? When I look at The Last of Us, there is no mention of the $20 certificate... Is it too late to pre-order and get the cert?? :(
 
Yeah those are the last two games I plan on pre-ordering too (from this promotion, at least).

It's good to see that the promotion is still on the RZ page, but it's weird that the product pages no longer list it as a Special Offer. It makes makes me woner if we're gonna have a hard time getting the 1,000 points due to a glitch, and we're gonna have call customer service, who won't know what we're talking about...
 
If anyone got one of those erroneous store pickup notices for Last of Us, I would suggest you check your credit card statement. Someone just posted on Bestbuy.com forums that they were charged the full amount for the game already instead of just the usual rotating authorization. Sure enough, I just checked my account and I have a cleared transaction for $86+ from a couple of days ago and that's the only thing I have preordered or bought from BB in weeks that it could be. So, it just keeps getting worse and worse.
 
Oddly enough, I just tried placing a preorder for the regular edition of The Last of Us, got a cancellation email soon after, with a order confirmation email a few minutes after that.

When I check the order status on the website, it's cancelled as well. And I see the charge and credit to my debit card too. What the heck? I've never run into this issue before. Guess I'll be calling customer service to see what happened.
 
If I pre-order a game for In-Store Pick Up can I later change it to shipping or a different store? Using RZ certs and going through BB.com.

EDIT: Pre-ordering GTA V, but not sure if I'm going to be moving in the coming months. Have an RZ cert expiring tonight though, so want to use that before it goes bad and nothing else at BB I really want.
 
Waited too long to decide to get the survival edition of Last of Us... blargh...

if it anyone spots it as available, please let me/us know!

I't listed as 3-5 days for in-store pickup for me, but errors when I try to click through it

Which preorder promo are you talking about? If your talking about the Victory can be PreOrdered promo, then yes it is available in store. If your trying to do it with a CE that is unavailable in store, then this makes more sense as well. I am just trying to get a clue for what your talking about.

That means you got banned from online purchases. Check to see if you can log into your RZ account. I think I read somebody said to start over with total new account info to get around it but it seems like you were banned from online purchases. One cause is duplicate orders.best buy has a rule about quantity limits.

You should be fine to do in store purchases though.

Unless he told you otherwise in a PM or something, he never said the store could give you any information or solve your problem. He stated to visit the store to make future purchases.

Definitely sounds like they banned you from BB.com.

I'm guessing Best Buy has some system bug that's not letting you order or they need to review your account for some random reason. I'm not sure if this will work, but using a Best Buy gift card bought in-store or some discount gift card website might work in your case.

i don't understand, even if he is banned from purchasing at bestbuy.com. Can't he still go to the physical b&m bb store to make his purchases?

That's really bizarre and disheartening, although I admit I chuckled at your crack about the secret formula for Dr. Pepper. :lol:

Only thing that occurs to me-- Is there any possibility that Best Buy suspects that identity theft is involved, and you might not be who you say you are? Any inconsistencies in your credit rating or identifying information or anything like that? That's the only reason I can think of why they would be cancelling all your purchases but be unwilling to tell you what the problem is.

That's the odd thing though I have only ever ordered multiples of one item before and that was when I ordered 2 3-month XBL cards and that was in January. I'm able to do in-store purchases they were more then happy to take my money. But I would still like to be able to place online orders because Best Buy is 30 minutes away from my house.

B&M's are different. They are allowed to manage customers and purchases at the store level at their discretion. Basically its like PM's where each store will have their own policy to enforce. Sort of like YMMV if I'm making any sense.

I can still go to the stores but its a convenience factor. I live in a small town that doesn't even have a Wal-Mart. Plus if I have been banned from the website for some BS reason then there is no way I would want to continue to shop at Best Buy.

I have verified all of my information with them that they have asked for. I have actually looked into identity fraud and my credit ratings and all of my banking/savings accounts are fine.

Even though no one will ever admit it, this is the case for most people that have gotten banned.

I have GTA paid off, so i need to cancel then re-order?

Or is the steelbook GS exclusive?

Yes, you will need to cancel and do the pre-order again for the special edition. Steelbook is not GS exclusive, it comes with all special edition versions of GTA V.

i'm in the same boat as you are.. i've been banned for 3 years, when I call they tell me it's a problem with my credit card. I also got the same response on the boards as you did. "we can not discuss why the orders won't work" etc. Making a new account does not help as the ban is tied to the billing address. I'm not a reseller but I sell my games when i'm done with them. I purchased a lot of different $1 guides they had a few years ago and it flagged my account to ban it.

I'm sure if I talked to someone with a brain they would let me buy online again, but I can't seem to figure out how to talk to someone that has control over the banning. When I do get somoene on the phone that realizes my address is banned they've told me that the banning is done by a computer system and they don't have the ability or know anyone who does have the ability to edit the system. If you figure out who to talk to be able to fix the problem let me know the number as well. I would love to purchase from them again.

Using a gift card with a fake billing address works fine for me though, but it's a pain in the ass, you also get no reward points with GCs

don't use reward zone certificates, make a new account, use a gift card with a fake or random billing address (it's a gift card, billing address does not matter), put your shipping address and it should work fine. Maybe put a different name as the shipping address.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure I'm willing to go through that much trouble to give Best Buy any money though. It's been over a week since I initially called so I am going to call them back on Tuesday and find out what the deal is.

yea like i said it's a pain in the ass, but amazon usually matches most of best buy's deals so it's not to bad without them. Definitely miss out on some clearance deals every once and awhile.

good luck calling, i've called many times and never had any luck. They will make up excuses, i've had them say my credit card was rejected by the bank, my shipping address wasn't valid etc. The times i have got them to realize I was banned they said they would send it to a "specialist" and get back with me within 3 days. They've never called me back. I've opened 3 or more cases and never heard anything. I think they really don't care about putting in the effort since you're already banned. I do get enjoyment out of keeping the reps on the phone as long as possible and wasting their money though.

Let me know if you get anywhere with it

Had a similar issue with my orders being cancelled immediately recently and the only dupe items I ordered was sport games from 1.5 years ago. I did do a few orders shipped to other people but what is funny is one of them that I placed after my first cancellation went through with no issues.

Contacting them has also been useless and when I tried to place a phone order the rep did not add the preorder dlc or get the gift card after repeatedly telling him about it so I told him to cancel it and hung up. Too bad, I will have to do most of my business elsewhere making my premier silver and gamer's club unlocked memberships useless.

I replied back and told them to re-read the notes to see that it doesn't involve home theater and that it needs to go to whoever is in charge of account verification. Why can't all sites/stores have good customer service like Amazon.
 
Just pre-ordered The Last of Us. The last game I got on release day was Tomb Raider and I wasn't disappointed. I don't think I will be here either.

Hopefully I can get a little credit during the 100% bonus to make it a little cheaper.

Any BB employees know if there will be a midnight opening for this one? I doubt it, but I thought I'd ask.
