I think when Sunday rolls around if you just go to the BB site and sort the BR by price.

Here is a link to all the $9.99 movies. It's actually the $7.99-9.99 price, but sorted high to low.

Here is a link to all the $10-$14.99 movies sorted by low to high.

Scarface shot back up to 24.99 online so it may be full price now
Looks like Horrible Bosses is jumping up from its current $14.99 to $19.99 next week, so get it for $10 AC now if you're interested.

EDIT: whoops, that appears to be the blu-ray only version, which might be some sort of exclusive/unrated edition...no idea what the difference is other than the freaking $19.99 ($14.99 AC) one only comes with the blu-ray, while the $14.99 one ($9.99 AC) is the combo pack.

Next week's ad:

$19.99 Blu-ray ($14.99 with $5 Upgrade & Save coupon):
 • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2
 • The Expendables (includes DVD and Digital Copy)
 • Horrible Bosses
$14.99 combo pack version

$19.99 VPD (???) version

Traded in some Full Screen version DVDs that I had and picked up Insomnia, Kill Bill Vol 1, 9 and Good Will Hunting for sales tax after using $20 Black Friday cancellation apology gift card. Insomnia came with Inception movie cash >_>

BB store locator does an interesting thing, it allows you to actually rate the BB store and read and write reviews about that store. It is a great guide to see if you live near a great best buy or a horrible one or to vent your frustration about a BB experience.

did this deal today got
road house for $8, and Collateral for $5
I'll go back tomorrow to try to get Drag Me to Hell, Spiderman 1 and 2, Old School, and Kill Bill volume 1. WHOOO!!!

My store had 5 American Beauties according to their kiosk but when I asked a Best Buy employee he went to the back to check and came back and told me they were being held back for an upcoming sale. What a bunch of BS... now I remember why I never shop at Best Buy.

I did get a few decent deals.

Freddy 2/3 for $5
Spiderman $5
Wall Street $5
Total Recall $6

Buuuuut look what I bought haha nice contradiction!

Its a shame the coupon is not good until the 31st I so bad wanted to use this on Drive. :(

Traded in 4 movies today- Thing about my Folks, X-men (got it on blu-ray) and two discs of Hung Season 1 I got from Blockbuster and didn't like. She got the movies and threw them in a blue trashcan afterwards.

:bouncy:
Hmmm...too lazy to cross reference to see if any of the movies on my list are Universal, especially since I don't have my list of movies from the promo in hand. Anything from Universal that Best Buy is selling cheap enough worth doing this with?

The coupon is towards their 100th Anniversary line, which my location didn't have this afternoon.

Not really, I had already traded in a bunch of crappy DVD's and figured I'd use my $5 coupons on something. Next time I won't even bother since they pull their best stock to shield it from the deal. I can put in an online order for American Beauty at 9.99 and pick it up at my store where it is in stock but I cannot purchase it off the shelf.

Yeah, I just won't bother with them next time. It has been years since I bought anything from Best Buy and from the looks of it, it will be several more before I bother with them again.

On another note, I just went ahead and ordered American Beauty from amazon. They price matched the $9.99 price and they've never jerked me around like Best Buy has numerous times.

Well Gainesville, VA has their shit together since the last promo. Traded in two crappy movies, one of which I got for 2.xx on clearance at target. The CSR took out an instruction list, typed a few things after checking the dvds and the computer printed out some receipt and he gave me 2 coupons...no id no signing. :)

My guess is that BBY has to hold an minimum amount of copies for the ad.

Manassas store was even better.

Guy took my 5 yesterday, looked at the disks and handed me 5 coupons. Easy peezy!

I don't think BB can do that though. The in store kiosk tells them they have it in stock and they are denying it because of a future sale? I never heard of such things, if it were me I would call the 800 number and ask what is going on.

Same thing happend at my store several of the $10 movies said they were in stock but were not on the floor. After talking to several people the salesman finally went back and got me a copy of Bravehart and American Beauty. Someone must have told them to hide these movies.

Had no problems getting Warrior (BR+DVD+DC) for $12.99 today w/ one of these coupons, although I had to go to a different BBY as my usual location was all out of copies.

Also, this is OT, but while I was there, I noticed that all three DVD seasons of Veronica Mars are on sale for $9.99 each until 1/28. Can anyone recommend the series at that price? I tried the pilot but I didn't much like the "snarkiness" (the most appropriate word I can think of) of the characters. I've heard so many good things about it, though, so I might be willing to give it another shot, especially at that low price. Does the show develop better as one progresses through it?

Right. That's when you order one for in-store pickup then give them the $5 off coupon when you pick it up. Worked for me when they tried to tell me that Almost Famous hadn't come out yet but was in-stock and it was the advertised date it would be on sale.

Nope, most stores will tell you you can either pick it up without coupon or look on the floor for one and use your coupon and let the order cancel itself or go online to cancel. Big time YMMV

How is this YMMV? When you pick it up, just present the coupon and they lower the price of it by $5. I've done this with RZ coupons. There's no reason that they would tell you to pick it up without coupon. I think you just have a bad BB.

Every store in my district does as I explained. It is at their discretion to accept/reject the coupon.

I tried 3 different stores on different occasions with the old reward zone coupons, same answer every time. I also tried with RZ certs and they would not do it, since "BB.com orders are separate from BB retail stores".

I remember liking it and being sad to see it go. I dont remeber much of the show though. I already own seasons 1&2. Thanks for mentioning this I am going to try to get season 3 so I can re watch the show.

For Veronica Mars,

Season 1 = AWESOME!
Season 2 = Still fairly awesome, but not as good as the 1st season. It ties up most of the loose plot threads from S1.
Season 3 = ok, kinda spins its wheels a bit since the mystery from the first 2 seasons is over and I don't remember the season arc to be that engrossing.

Went to the West Covina. Ca. store and found American Beauty and Braveheart, both were the last ones on the shelf. I also picked up Scarface. They gave me the coupon quick and checked out with no problem.

Does anybody know if Spiderman is $9.99 in-store or is it $9.75 like on the website so it becomes invalid for the upgrade coupon?
Does anybody know if Spiderman is $9.99 in-store or is it $9.75 like on the website so it becomes invalid for the upgrade coupon?
It is 9.75. That is yet another issue I had with my experience. It was on the "Upgrade and Save" endcap with all of the other 9.99 movies but rang up $9.75 so it did not qualify for the $5 coupon.

I had to basically walk right from the register to the customer service desk to return it. Luckily, I got a very sweet young lady that gave me the $5 coupon off anyway so I got back like $5.34 making the total I paid for Spiderman about $5.02 give or take.

But yeah, it is $9.75. With some luck and jumping through some extra hoops you can get it for $4.75 + tax.

Traded in five more today, two of them horribly scratched HD-DVDs. Cashier didn't even blink at those.

What he did do that was odd was that he handed out one coupon and wrote X5 on it, indicating that they were only to provide one coupon per customer and write the number of uses it had. :whistle2:s I told him that the other store I did the trade-in at gave me five individual coupons and I wanted my other four. He handed over another four coupons and again said that's how he was instructed on how to do it.

Used up five coupons for:
Simpsons S14
Mildred Pierce
American Beauty
40-Year Old Virgin combo pack (replacing my HD-DVD copy)
Knocked Up combo pack (replacing my HD-DVD copy)

I mentioned earlier in the thread that this is how the Milpitas store did the trade in also. Single sheet with the amount of DVDs I traded in written at the top.

If I find more titles, I may try tossing in a couple HDDVDs I don't watch anymore.

I had two of them that were scratched to hell and back from some old iNetVideo order that was damaged in shipment, so I wasn't worried about having them get traded in.

Other ones I have from Red2Blue trade-ins, they have photocopied of the original cover art, so I'm guessing those might be rejected for non-original cover art.

I might trade in the HD DVDs of 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up, since I just bought the BD combo packs of them, as I doubt I'd get any better than the $5 coupon if I traded them in anywhere or sold them third-party.

If they are holding movies until the later days of the program I can only assume its due to the longevity of the trade in program. Thats not cool, definitely not cool bestbuy, unhappy sad face :(

Ok, so I went to manassas, va bb.... instead of the little coupon, I got a print out of a larger coupon. When I asked the manager what's the deal since gainsville gave me the smaller one, he replied "that's what they told us to give..." ummm ok......

Picked up HO2, Bad teacher, and Our Idiot Brother...

Oh and I checked out the dollar store near by and they had tons of 1 dollar discs, however they were all in that digi-thin pack case with generic looking artwork that *may* raise a flag with the CSR.

I had no trouble trading in a DVD that came in a cardboard sleeve.
I think i got it from FYE a long time ago, one of those free with purchase crappy B-movies with Erik roberts or something.

Cool...damn...I had like 10 of those promo discs bb use to give out a long time ago with coupons inside...I think I threw them away.

I bought 3 Game of Thrones(the bonus DVD which only has episode 1) for $0.01/each at Bestbuy then traded them back to get 3x$5off BD coupons.

Manassas to me is always the better store. They always don't hesitate to pm and they have a great gaming staff.

Traded in yesterday with only a slight annoyance. Service counter told me they would hang on to the dvds and I should go get the Blus I wanted and then they would ring me out. But after I got my blus, waited in line again, all she did was give me the coupons and told me to go to the regular checkout. If she was going to do that, why not just give me the coupons the first time I was up there. Anyways, I got Super 8 combo, Hot Fuzz combo, Leon, Bram Stoker Dracula, and Grindhouse for about $52. Might try a different store today since the last one didn't have any Braveheart left.

HD DVDs work for this too? I have a bunch of those I wouldn't mind trading. Something tells me the CR at my store would have no idea what to do with them though.
are they still giving out coupons or did that end 1/8/2012
Considering the program restarted on the 8th, I'm going to guess that they're still giving out coupons... until the 28th, when the program is supposed to end, I would hope!

It should go right up until the 28th. Hoping for another week or 2 of fresh 9.99 titles - got a stack of dvds to trade in, got everything I wanted available so far.

I have a bunch of CSI and Rescue Me from a Blockbuster close out sale a while ago. I wonder if they will take them. Each disc is in a separate DVD case. It is clearly labeled "Disc 1 of Season 1." Heading up now, so we shall see. If not, I have other movies I can substitute.

Took in 6 DVDs and got:

The Town ($10)
Casino ($5)
Platoon ($10)
The Shawshank Redemption ($15)
Gangs of New York ($8)
Midnight in Paris ($20)

Also grabbed Milk out of the $7.99 bin. Didn't worry to much about finding super deals. Just a chance to ditch some DVDs I'd upgraded to Blu or plan to and get some Blus I'd been wanting.

Was hoping to get The Green Mile and Punch Drunk Love as I traded in those DVDs as they had problems with skipping (laser rot on the first, 2nd has a bad scratch), but they didn't have either in store.

Also, like many, they just took the DVDs and gave me the coupons. No recycling receipt.

Turned in a movie that was so scratched it would never play in a DVD player and they took it no questions asked. Ended up only getting 4 blu's for $45. Not bad.

Boardwalk Empire s1 $30
Apollo 13 $5
The Crow $5
Snatch $5

Going to go back tomorrow with the CSI discs to see if they will take them.

Picked up 5 blu-rays today

American Gangster (Blu-ray & DVD Combo) $5
State of Play (Blu-ray & DVD Combo) $5
Good Will Hunting $5
Cape Fear $5

Can't find Apollo 13 (Blu-ray & DVD Combo). End up picked up Snatch $5

Almost ran into a "disaster" today when the clerk asked if I got a list of eligible blu rays for the promotion. I told her that the sign out front and on the racks said any blu ray so she took my word. The blu rays rang without a hitch anyways. My haul consisted of 9, The Incredible Hulk, Kick Ass (blu/dvd), Sweeny Todd, and Inglourious Bastards (there wasn't any two disc versions but picked up the one disc anyways). I hope I won't run into any problems with another Best Buy where I traded in on the first day of the promo and only received one coupon stapled to the receipt of 5 trade ins.
