Big Lots Anime DVDs

Maybe connected to the Best Buy anime restructuring, but my local Big Lots... one of them at least, got a whole load of anime DVDs in priced at $4. Among them

Trinity Blood vol 2
Afro Samurai (Spike)
Dragon Ball Z: Broly 1
Witchblade Vol 3 (In some sort of folded case)
A One Piece Movie (Something to do with a princess)

Other titles noted vaguely:
Robotech
School Rumble

Note that there was nothing even resembling a complete collection. Trinity Blood was only volume 2 for instance.

I also made off with In Good Company.

you do have a point but if the admin were to see this thread he would say the same thing unfortunately..
 
I was going to make a post about this, but I wasn't sure if I should create a new thread or just bump another one.. I also saw Samurai 7 Volumes 1 and 2, Gunslinger Girl vol. 3, and Solty Rei vol. 1. I picked up Afro Samurai.. I'll have to upgrade to the DC eventually, but this will work for now. =)
 
I found the one piece movie, and volumes 2 and 3 of XXXholicXXX, they had others, those were the only ones I cared about. I could just rent the volumes of holic, but I'd rather just pay the extra $1 to buy.

Edit: also I see some Collector edition anime, only one that comes to mind is IGPX Season 1, but there were some more titles.
The collector editions were $10 each.

Yeah, I saw some too-- some collector's edition with figurines. I can't remember their names, though, but they were 10 bucks a pop. Also a .dot hack collector's edition that seemingly only had a second bonus disc for 10 bucks as well. Also, Fantastic Children volume 5 and 6-- I'm going to go to a different Big Lots tomorrow though and see if there's any other titles. I wouldn't mind getting some of the movies you guys mentioned.

Yeah, those are Scrapped Princess, LEs of Vol. 1 and 6. There's also Dice Season 1, and an IGPX set with a shirt.
 
Anime is sparse at my local BL. But I did pick up Planetes Vol. 5, Animatrix & Peach Girl Vol. 2 for $3 a piece. I nearly shit a brick when I saw that Best Buy.com was charging $40 for the Peach Girl DVD.:lol::lol::lol:

I was wondering about three of them. Is Beck any good? It looks like a slice of life anime about the music business. I could not make up my mind about Solty Rei as I could not tell what it is, harem, comedy, space, or what. Looks cute, but I've learned that buying cute anime does not equal satisfaction anymore. Gunslinger Girl I was tempted about, but only if they had #1 instead of #2 there...I'd hate to spend years looking for a #1 to see if I'd like it.

So I bought 2 xxxholics (my friend said it's a comedy and it's highly recommended), One Piece The Movie, and the 2 Moon Phase (mmm goth-vampire catgirl, that's all I need to know!).

You guys are lucky. I was only able to find the following:

Gunslinger Girl volume 2
Fullmetal Alchemist volume 12
Case Closed volume 2.1
Negima volume 3
Dragonball Z (contained episodes 25, 26, and 27)

I was going to get Gunslinger Girl but decided against it since I wouldn't be able to find the other volumes at this price. Besides, I already have the cardboard boxset :(. If I was going to get one thing, it would be Negima. Great, now I'm tempting myself to go back XD
 
Reviving a dead thread once again to state that anime is back at Big Lots. I was there today for the $6.00 box set madness and much to my surprise they got a new shipment of those as well as a new shipment of anime DVDs. So keep an eye out for these.

FLAG is fantastic and should not be passed up. Tide-Line Blue isn't worth it, and Zegapain starts out pretty bad, but improves later on.
 
Last time I went to my Big lots (a few weeks ago) they had some anime... Surprisingly. I got Flag 2, 3, and 4, Galaxy Angel S, Clockwork Fighters: Hiwou's War vol 1, and .hack//Roots 1. I also remember some Eureka Sevens, IGPX Toonami edition (vol 1?), Tide-Line Blue v3, and a random Di Gi Charat. Overall... Bandai just dumped on Big Lots.
 
For anyone who lives close to the Big Lots in Tyler, TX next to a Michaels, they have a special edition IGPX for $10. it comes with a shirt and V1 and probably some other stuff. Aside from that, the anime is bone dry there.
 
I just stopped by Big Lots, and I noticed that they've gotten some more random volumes of anime. Some of these they've had before, some they haven't. The particular ones I remember would be various volumes of Samurai 7, Desert Punk, XXXHolic, Ragnarok, Sonic X, Witch Blade, Eureka Seven, Flag, FMA, Tide-Line Blue, Negima, and some DBZ 2 film steelbook sets. I know there were a few more, but I can't remember them right now.

DBZ Double Feature Steelbooks? Hmn... I'm looking for the last three.... Android 13/Bojack, Brolly Triple Feature, & Wrath/Fusion. Might just go check out my local Biglots.. it's been a while since I checked it. I'm just about finished with Tales From The Crypt sets that I got there a couple of months ago (Seasons 2/3/4/5) Thankz for the update on this post. :whistle2:D

Anyway- I found a few DBZ movie steelbooks (Dead Zone/World's Strongest, Cooler Movies, Brolly movies), Speed Grapher 3&4, Desert Punk 2&3, XXholic 5 (I think), Tsubasa 7, Beck 1, and 2 volumes of FMA (I forget which.) Viridian collection versions were applicable.

I bought myself a DBZ Dead Zone/World's Strongest set, a Cased Closed movie set, and Sonic X: New World Saga. Because I'm weird that way.;)
 
Almost forgot- 1 copy each of Black Blood Brothers 1 and School Rumble: Extra class. Also, the ones at my big Lots were $3 each, not 4.

Yup i seen all those there too, But I only picked up Speed Grapher vol. 3 & 4 and Samurai 7 Vol. 5 & 6 for a total of $13.10 or so for a friend who asked. Was somewhat tempted in getting Sonic X as well as Speed Grapher for myself but then I thought I never seen Sonic X before so didn't kno if I'd like it and for Speed Grapher I'd get it with the intention to get Vols. 1 and 2 but more than likely never will so i passed on it for myself.
 
If anyone happens to see any .hack//Roots i need any volumes except for 1,2, and 6. Also if anyone sees Flag volume 2 lemme know.
 
Bump because Big Lots just got a big shipment of anime in, some of its dupes, but they also got Kaze no Stigma first half of first season, first season of Sasami, Coyote Ragtime Show (complete series), Moeyo Ken (complete series), the King of Bandits Jing OVA (heaven whatever), random volumes of a few shows, and Aquarion first half collection. Probably some others but that's what I can remember.

I can add DBZ Movie Double Feature: Bojack/Android 13 and the Spike TV(Edited) version of Afro Samurai to that list. Picked up those along with Kaze no Stigma S.1 P.1, Sasami S.1(Shut up! XD) last night. Saw King of Bandits Jing OVA, but passed on it.

On the live-action front, Big Lots has Synesthesia and Casshern(Casshan in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom) as well.

I bought GitS 2: Innocence - $5, Casshern - $3, and (the one that made me the most happy) Ringu - $3. $11 total. ^_^
 
Seriously. I guess I need to be in and out but my Big Lots haven't gotten anything in ages. They've dumped all their PC games, too.
 
This was actually the first time I scored decent anime from Big Lots. I've got a few good movies before. Tonight I grabbed Jing King of Bandits Seventh Heaven, Sasami Magical Girls Club, Moeyo Ken, Aquarion, and Coyote Ragtime Show.

I haven't seen any of these except Jing and that was in Japanese with crappy subtitles. I'll try almost any anime season for $3.00.
 
Sasami in English is pretty funny especially the brown haired girl, she's very boring in japanese, but I swear they allowed her to just say whatever the fuck she wanted. Also they are $3.
 
We went back today so my brother could grab some and the place was wiped out. We were there at close last night and around 3 this afternoon and all the sets were gone. Only a few random volumes. LAME.
