Timeshift is okay.
Nothing great, yet nothing horrible, either.

Timeshift's basically got going on with it a Half-Life 2 type of dystopian environments and themes -- w/ a splash of PoP series' time manipulating, FEAR's slow-mo, and also the ability to freeze-time a la one of the characters in Clive Barker's Jericho.

EDIT:
Oh, I picked up earlier today at my nearby Big Lots for the PC:
--DMC3
--Universe at War: Earth Assault
--Soldier of Fortune: Payback
--Peter Jackson's King Kong

Went to my Big Lots in Biddeford, ME didn't buy anything but saw:

Bad Day LA
Commandos
Assault Heroes
Defcon
Jeopardy
This three pack of older games for some reason I can't remember them

I've never used a coupon at BigLots (never knew they had one). But a few questions, can these be printed like Target and Gamestop coupons and do they ask for a card to see if you are a member of Buzz Club?

I don't think there is a Buzz Club card. In the past it's been sort of an honor system that you don't abuse the coupon by reusing it. Although they could have different regional practices. Like maybe, somewhere, there is a super-high-tech monitoring system using exclusive Big Lots chips implanted in customers' foreheads and hands.

Oh Big Lots, I kid you because I love you...

Yeah, the Buzz Club thing is an email sign-up on the website that sends you ads & coupons. No card or anything. They do keep your coupon when you use it. If you live between 5 Big Lots as we do in PA, you print several and hit them all the week of the sale. Last year they did a 20% coupon roughly once a month for the 6 months before Xmas. There have been fewer this year, but with consumer shopping down and such, I imagine they are happy to incentivize. I'm happy to save a few bucks on snacks, cheapo PC games & anime dvds, so it works out nicely.

Scored Fear last night at the Dekalb, IL store.

Also grabbed:
Mage Knight Apocalypse
Sacred+

Also Saw:
Pariah
Instinct
Spellforce 2
Timeshift
Universe at War
Rag Doll Kung Fu
and a few others.

The DVD selection had been picked pretty clean.

Went to Big Lots yesterday and noticed they put "Guitar Hero 3: Aerosmith" for PS2 I believe for $50. There were like probably 25 or more of them in an endcap with "overstock" on top.

Grabbed a few PC games today. Checked on Monday and nothing was there, but today there was a few good games (must have been a restock this week)

Devil May Cry 3
Diner Dash 1+2 (Tin)
Pariah
Sacred +
Mysteryville 1+2 (Tin)

Also saw

F.E.A.R. Director's Cut
Spellforce 2
Chocolatiere (sp?)
Timeshift
and others I cant remember, nice selection overall, for $4.80 a game, you can't go wrong

Didnt go through this thread, but didnt see this listed on the first page.
Picked up Diplomacy for $6 plus the 20% coupon and one for a friend. Also got defcon for the friend. I already had defcon from a CC clearance.

Fort Collins, CO

Sacred+ $6 (Please note. I purchased this one myself and it did NOT come with a cd-key)
Soldier of Fortune: Payback $6
American McGee's Bad Day in L.A. $6
Silverfall $6
Risk $6
Axis and Allies $6

As for the DVD section, plenty of copies of Yukikaze vol 1 for $10 and the IGPX box for volume 1 (t-shirt and such) for $10 as well.

I went to the Spokane Valley one tonight, and they had a ton of the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock bundle (PS2, with wireless guitar) for $50.

I passed on Hearts of Iron and Diplomacy. Both of them seem too hardcore for me :)

And Big Lots would have to pay me to waste time with Bad Day LA

Went by BL and surprised that a lot of the games were either bought (or maybe shipped back?). A lot less that I've seen ever for PC games at the store but nevertheless, made things much easier to find. Nothing new to report though...

Half-Price Books Update:

Saw all of the recently mentioned Big Lots games plus these at the HPBs in Monroeville PA outside of Pittsburgh:

Tabula Rasa Reg & Collector's Ed %10-$15
Leisure Suit Larry 5 Game Box for $10
Defcon $5
Darwinia with Poster/Keychain $5

My Half-Price Books recently started carrying a wider selection of video games (used). Mostly older generation (primarily xbox and ps2), but I also saw some ps3 and xbox360 games as well.

I picked up Grand Theft Auto Trilogy for the original xbox for $10. I inspected the disks before purchasing and it turned out they were near mint condition (and all the documentation was there as well), so I was happy with my purchase.

Defcon $5
I'm hoping my Half Price Books gets on track with that. I can wait for it to drop from the $9ish range with my backlog, but it would still be nice to have it in the collection.

At HPB I just bought PS2 Silent Hill 2 & 3 for under $20. Saw them sell together on eBay for $100+. You just get lucky and some sap sells off his old collection there.

Is it worth starting up a trade thread for Big Lots/Half-Price Books PC Games? It'd be so easy to swap discs in envelopes w/serials if folks were interested. I'm almost finished with AREA 51 and would gladly swap it out. Seems like there are so many cheap PC games to go around it's a waste for us to all buy our own copy at retail when we can spread them around.

I went to my Big Lots the other day. They moved the PC games more towards the "electronics section," and I guess they had either gotten in a new shipment or bought out all the games they had in the back. Nothing new, though there was a lot of variety. DMC3, JSF, Monster Madness, Bad Day LA, Defcon (well, not anymore :) ), Diplomacy, Spellforce 2, Rainbow Six Lockdown, FEAR Director's Cut, Rag Doll Kung Fu, Taito Legends 2, Project Eden, Theif 1 and 2, a few copies of City of Villians, some collector's tin games(I remember Chocolatier and Diner Dash), Tomb Raider 3, TR: Last Revelation, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, some other theme park game, The Movies, Shadow of Destiny, 2 Silverfalls, Battlestations Midway, Delaware St. John Volume 3, uhhhh..... that's about all I can remember. But as you can tell, they were definitely stocked.

New $4 assortment including Laser Squad Nemesis, Just Cause, Frontline Fields of Thunder, Heretic kingdoms, and some shovelware. Yee-haw.

Oh, and a new DVD assortment including the big-box Hellboy Director's Cut for $3.

Damn it, they didn't have that here (Hellboy, that is)! But they did have Adaptation and Gattaca, so that was okay.

Picked up Roller Coaster Tycoon Gold and Sacred Plus, game-wise, last week.

I'd absolutely pick up Laser Squad Nemesis...if it wasn't subscription-based. I should go by my local locations to see what they've received lately.

Am all over that one. Also saw on DVDTalk forums that Devil's Backbone has been spotted in the $3 selection (a previous Del Toro film). Must go look for both since Western PA Wal-Marts can't stock a $5 bin copy of Nightmare Detective for me...

Just as a heads-up, I wasted 20 minutes waiting for Just Cause to install. Incredibly, it not only has no gamepad support, but no widescreen support in any resolution. Amazing. The original Xbox version did widescreen 480 res! Thanks for the ass port, Eidos. I guess I'll wait until I get a 360.

Also forgot that BL had a few old classic DVDs like Guys and Dolls special edition. I'm not too into Brando, but it had a pretty cool artbook/scrapbook included. Somebody's parents might like that.

Oh and Who's the Boss Season 1. LOL need to bring a pen with me next time.

Just got back from the BigLots! in Pasadena, CA. I finally got Defcon for $4. As far as I could see, it was the last copy, but then again, the shelves at that location are packed and a mess. I also saw City of Heroes starter kits, Project Eden 1 & 2, Assault Heroes, and Thief: The Dark Project. Everything else I saw seemed to be shovelware. Though, as I said before, those shelves are extremely cluttered- something great could be buried in there.

I'd love to find a copy of a classic Leisure Suit Larry in there one day.

At my local Biglots yestesterday they had Enemy Territories: Quake Wars, Quake 4, and Lord of the Rings online, $6 each.

NICE! Haven't seen those before. These assortments sure are screwed up lately? I liked it better when PCGirl's company was doing the distribution.

Stopped by to check today. Picked up Quake 4 for $6, Just Cause for $4, and Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood for $6. They had plenty of copies of Quake Wars, too, and LOTRO, plus a few of City of Villains.

Picked up Quake 4 and Quake Wars for $6 each at my Big Lots. They had a bunch of Quake 4s but only 2 Quake Wars so either they were already picked over or Quake Wars came in at a smaller quantity. Either way, Quake Wars is a steal for $6 bucks!

Edit: Forgot that I picked up Just Cause as well!

Here's a pic of the City of Heroes/Villains packs I got. I ended up buying two. One for me and one for trade or a friend (if they don't already have it).

Bought Quake 4 for $6 at the local BL last week.

Also got Goldeneye and Goldfinger for $4 a piece. :p

Nothing warmed my heart today more than seeing PC Solider of Fortune Payback where it truly belonged from the start. $6 bin at Big Lots. I can't believe they released a version of that crap on the Consoles.

Some other new ones of note:

Sword of the Stars - $6 (4X Game)
Timeshift - $6

There were others, but mostly crap or already mentioned :)

Sup fellas! ^_^

Went to the Henderson, NV location and scored me an FEAR - Director's Cut & Defcon. They had several copies of Quake Wars as well Quake 4 for 6 buck each. Hope this helps out to all my peeps in the Las Vegas area. ^_^

I picked up Quake 4 at the BL in Sacramento for $6. One of the most boring FPS games I've ever played :|

I stopped my BL yesterday. And it was pretty barren. Seriously, I think they move the game/DVD rack around the store more than they actually restock it. Everytime I'm in that store, the rack is moved...

How does Tomb Raider sound right about now?

I used to live in Sycamore like 15 yrs ago. Does that one Gas Station in Crystal Lake still have that huge American Flag flying from it? I realize it has probably changed a s--t ton since I was a kid, but that is the one thing I remember. Isn't Crystal lake on the way to St. Charles from Sycamore?

Edit: I just looked everything up on Mapquest. That might have been Lily Lake I was thinking of with the flag. It was something lake though.
Picked up Sword of the Stars and Pariah the other day. And Defcon.
Take Pariah back. Just trust me on this one.

Tomb Riader II Gold is still a ton of fun for $6. The rest of them are pretty yucky IMO.

I thought it was a great game, liked the story a lot and the weapons. BTW nice sig.
