Finally!
After months of looking (since it was first posted), I finally found a copy of Defcon...

Now it'll probably sit on my shelf for months.

Went by mine...surprisingly nothing new in terms of shipments. If anything quite a bit of DVD box sets though for $3 came in...

Nothing good at the one I went - they had Defcon for $4 but I judged the book by its cover and passed. Did pick up a UFC dvd for 2 bucks - classics vol. 2 - not bad at all - otherwise nothing but old crap at that one - might have to go to another one if I have a trip to the general area.

heads up! Half Price Books has Unreal Tournament 3 for $15... since they share a lot of their inventory with Big Lots, there's a strong possibility that Big Lots may get the same!

I bought the complete Space Quest and complete Police quest collection for a total of $8, $4 each. Now I just need to find an XP to run them on. Great deal. Feel free to add them to the list.

I think Big Lots got a new shipment in. I recall seeing:

Two Worlds
Spiderman 3
Keepsake
pnembra
Thrillville: Off the Rails
Monster Madness
First to Fight/Starship Troopers 2-pack
Bee Movie
Lord of the Rings Online
Broken Sword

All were $6.00

Also Victoria Empire Under the Sun, Crusader Kings, Star Fury, and Take Command Second Manassas, all Strategy First stuff. Judging by the weight, they feel like instructionless discount reprints. Also only "Paradox" is mentioned on the boxes, thought that was odd since SF was the original publisher of those games. Maybe there was a buyout.

I made out like a bandit today: all 6 bux

Two Worlds
First to Fight/Starship Troopers 2-pack
Tom Clancy Chronicles
Gun Metal
Pariah (gotta see how bad it really is)
Viet Nam Action Pack
Flatout 2
Rogue Trooper
Etrom
Instinct
Victoria
T-72 Tank Command

I snagged Defcon ($4), City of Heroes Limited Edition ($10), Universe at War($6), and Laser Squad Nemesis($4).

Hey,
Will you tell me how good Instinct is? I saw it today at Big Lots and almost bit - always up for a good zombie romp. For any DFW CAG if you find yourself by I-20 and Green Oaks in Arlington that is the only Big Lots I have found that was well stocked. Lots of the new titles listed and a few others.

I remember Sim Societies for 4 bucks
Not gaming, but I did see a rack of 4gb SDHC SD cards for $10!!!
Yeah, I saw that in the ad a while back. Kingston, too I think, so not just a no-name brand.

I've noticed a lot of theft in my Big Lots' gaming section. Basically, I find multiple boxes ripped open and all contents removed. What about you guys?

It's probably some cheap and immoral person tearing open all the games, putting them in one box and paying for just one game - they will probably start a trend - there will either be less games or they will lock them up or start charging more.

Grabbed City of Villains Collector's DVD Edition for $10 at the Massena, NY Big Lots. Was hoping to find Two Worlds :( If anyone can grab a second copy of Two Worlds, keep me in mind. I PM'd a couple of you to see if you'd be willing to trade.

Hi Guys!!! Missed ya.

I was transfered to another division of the company. Did not have access to pertinent info, but it was more money. Whataya gonna do? Anyway, I'm back in a big way. I see that you guys are active without me, but I'll be posting often. I came into work today to do a little math, and I see that between Big Lots, Half Price Books, Ollies and Five Below, we've shipped over 700,000 miniboxes since I last posted.

Should I just post the most recent stuff that we've shipped (Like Dream Chronicles 2 and Trainz the Complete Collection) or shoud I post everything since September?

More updates to come!!!
You know, I wonder if PCGirl's company is actually Stootsi?

Let's review the facts:

PCGirl goes missing leading up to and during Stootsi gamer box fiasco.

PCGirl mentions doing the jobs of two people during her absence, while Stootsi was obviously not staffed properly to handle their big promotion.

Stootsi claims to have all these PC titles in a warehouse somewhere, while PCGirl's company has tons and tons of games they ship out to Big Lots all the time.

Hmmm...I smell a conspiracy! And if there isn't one, well, there damn well should be! ;D
Either way. We're not them.

PCgirl.

Oh man, I gotta go see if there are any Space Quest collections left at my local, cause I'd be all over that like a cheap $2 suit.
What of these keycodes? :O I bought SEV but didn't open it yet.
Our company had Space Empires V republished for us. The replicator mistakenly forgot to include a keycode.

Thanks for the info PCgirl.

Is the contact info also included with the game? If it's not, shouldn't the game be pulled? Not many Big Lot customers come to CAG.

Is there a specific day that Big Lots stores restocks/gets games? I'm trying to find a copy of Two Worlds and a few others and mine didn't have any.

Hi All,

Unfortunately, there is no rhyme of reason when it comes to restocking Big Lots. It's up to the store manager where the rack goes, and when to reorder. There are lots of stores that sell tons of games, but don't get stocked up enough. (as I'm sure you have seen).

We simply ship the distribution centres thousands of boxes and they take it from there. We just get a call when they need a new assortment.

Here's a secret hint for next month. We just bought a killer qty F.E.A.R. Persus Mandate. It'll be $ 6.00 in next month's assortment. I'll let you know when if ships!

Nice. I played F.E.A.R. and the Extraction Point expansion but never Perseus Mandate. I'll definitely jump on that one. Thanks PCGirl!

Sometimes I get a little spoiled since we have a lot of Half Price Books around here so they seem to get the bulk of the good games (Quake Wars, FEAR, etc) but at the same time if I wait long enough I end up snagging a lot of them for $1, $2, and $3 - yeah it's not a big difference from the $4 and $6 at Big Lots, but it does make me hesitate on some of the Big Lots titles!

Anyways - does anyone know if Instinct is as bad as people say? They said the same of Uber Soldier but I rather enjoyed that one.
Thanks for the info PCgirl.

Pulling the game would be impossible anyway. All PC titles are generically priced. Each store only got 1, so we should be good. The publisher and we both feel that SEV is a gamer title, so we should be OK. CAGs are smart right???

Perseus Mandate is a stand alone expansion.
Thanks. My store is out of Two Worlds, the only game i wanted so i'll check back in a month or so.
We shipped another 500 Two Worlds to BL in early January. 1 per case to 500 seperate stores. Hope one of them is close to you!!!

We also have a few thousand left, and although it's not going into February's shipment, if there's any left in 6 weeks, it will surely go into every case for March. There's more Southpeak stuff on the way too. Like Roogoo, Igor, Dream Pinball and Imperium Romanum.

Yesterday was the first time i went to my Big Lots (just moved into town). It seems to be the only one in the area and there are a couple of younger employees there so my chances of getting the game seem rather low. I really appreciate the replies though. I'll check the store again in a couple days, perhaps they got their shipment late/put the games out late..

Welcome back, PCGirl!

And since nobody answered the Stootsi question, I guess I'll try. They are a website that sells games and other electronics. Anyway, last year, they had this rediculous promo that I don't even remember the details for, but it involved a bunch of CAGs buying insane amounts of computer games (I remember someone saying they ordered 200!!!!). Anyway, the ship date for the orders eventually passed with nobody getting their stuff. Eventually, some people got their orders, either in full or in part for those big ones, but Stootsi went on to cancel the rest of the orders. Overall, the whole situation just left a bad taste in a bunch of CAGs mouths.

Wasn't it like... a penny each with free shipping or something?

The deal with that Stootsi promo was like any other sale that people abuse. They buy massive quantity before the site can even begin to check inventory and then try to fulfill the orders only to not be able to.
Thanks for all the updates and helpful information, PG Girl!
Seconded. Have found great stuff thanks to the lists. Looking forward to FEAR expansions after grabbing the original at BL. Thanks for representin'!

Rarely, usually only if a game sits for a long time. But the BLs in Richmond keep all their disc-based media right next to the cash registers, so that helps.
