interesting that they can make profit on PC games, but console games are risky to them! Thanks for the inside info.

And yes, please continue with these posts. Thanks for your help!
Seconded on all. Thanks again PC Girl!

Maybe it's just because more people a PC versus having a specific console? I mean, aside from us CAGs and a few others in the know, I'm not sure that most people buying their PC games are big gamers.

Anyway, I agree with everyone else; Keep posting PC Girl!

Major Thanks to PCGirl for all the work that you do!
Just went to big lots, mostly games I won't buy, didn't see any real good ones for my taste. Did see quite a few copies of Shadow of Destiny. Was hoping I would find a viva pinata game. Game selection at my local big lots was kind of thin. The ones near my university are much better.

Viva Pinata ships in March. I'll post when it goes out to the distrubution centers. BL is pretty good about getting shipments into the stores. About a week and half. Some chains take months.

PCgirl.

They're buying more and more minibox from us. They have promised full cooperation with updates as to when different games they bought from us and our competition ship to stores. If you couple that with the fact that I can give a heads up on what we sold them, the thread should have solid dependable info. Also, remember that when we ship Big Lots, we ship one copy per title. So if it's a box of 38 miniboxes, it's almost always 38 different titles. I think alot of the time, the staff pinch the real gems as they're stocking the shelves. When we ship half price books, it between 300 to 2000 per minibox title. So they ship at least 12 to each store. Odds of finding what is posted is actually increased radically. Also, Half Price Books is a smaller firm, so they are more willing to help with this info. I have personal contact with the buyers assitant and the rep at our company who sells them the goods.

I think I know how do to it, but any pointers would be great. I would like to start tonight. I'll try to post HPB info here to for the first while if I can find the time. What's a tag by the way?

PCgirl.:bouncy:

Awesome. There's a HPB right down the street with an awesome PC game selection (even some olde-fashioned big boxes...saw one for Brood Wars). Hopefully they'll get some more goodies in the coming months.

Good luck with the HPB thread, PC Girl. I don't have one around here though so... :(
Also, a tag is sorta like a keyword for the thread.
I don't know which regions, but I know I can at least get that info.

Back to you once I know.

PCgirl.
I appreciate the posts, but I don't really like going to BL that much. I hit it up a few times but it just kinda weirds me out...makes ya feel like too much of a scavenger.

Maybe if ya post something that catches my eye I might hit them up again. Thanks for the time & effort.

Dracula III $ 6.00
Microids: Nostradamus $ 6.00
Microids: Sinking Island $ 6.00

Coming to a BL near you in April.

PCgirl.

BL just increased their next two orders from 30,000 pieces per price point per month to 36,000. Further, both those orders will now ship in March. No need to wait until April!!!

I'll post titles as soon as I know them.

PCgirl:roll:

Picked up Taito Legends Volume 2 on Sunday for $6 but was very surprised to see TimeShift and Monster Madness: Escape from Suburbia there as well!

i've seen many copies of timeshift but after going to a few big lots only 1 buried monster madness. i also bought the sims pinball looking game i forget its name for 6 bux.

How long between when they ship and they start showing up on shelves? I've been hitting two of the local stores about every three days and still no sign of Viva Pinata. As a matter of fact, they dont look to have restocked the software in a while.

I've seen Two Worlds and LOTRO as well as some other you guys have mentioned, not sure if I'm interested in those.

From our store visits, we think it takes around 2 weeks from our docks to the nearest store and 3 and a half weeks to the ones on the west coast.

Keep in mind Viva Pinata ships in early March.

Hope this helps.

PCgirl.

We just bought the farm on Empire Earth Gold Edition. It's going to be $ 6.00 at Big Lots. I'll see if I can convince the powers that be to ship it March.

PCgirl.
PCgirl, did you say Kain & Lynch would be arriving in March?
Yup. $ 6.00!

PCgirl.

The Feb. shipment should be in BL's in roughly a week right?

EDIT: nvm, i looked back a few pages and Feb. shipment was pushed back to early March :( really hoping i can get the Loki CE.

It would be totally hot if Big Lots carried console titles. I would be a frequent customer if they did (and the titles were decent). I'm surprised they got those Guitar Hero bundles, as that's not the type of thing they normally sell.

On a somewhat unrelated note, that 20% off coupon saved me $60 on a mattress and box spring today.

We are shipping March's first load in Mid February now! They say they need the goods. I will post the confirmed $ 6.00 titles later tonight!

We're shipping the $ 4.00 on the same day, but I don't know the titles yet. Hope to have em Monday.
Thanks for the update! I really want to check out TOCA 3, but not badly enough to install Starforce on my machine. :(
GOG.com
Holy crap that site is Godly! How long has it been around? I've never heard of it until just now.
It's been public since last November (though I, personally, was in the beta for a few months before that).
The controls for The Club (360 controller for windows) are HORRIBLE! Save up for the 360 version.
I've already got the 360 version, but if the port is that bad, I can skip it.
I've already got the 360 version, but if the port is that bad, I can skip it.
I just found the controls to be horrible...way too sensitive and i had the sensitivity adjusted as much as it would allow and nothing.

Still the older games when I checked a few days ago but will check in later to see if the new arrivals come in... Hopefully others have had better luck.

I picked up Taito legends 2 for 6 dollars! SEALED! it has all good games on it too.

they had a CRAP LOAD of RPG's but I passed. I might go back and grab them if someone can hint me on how much they go for elsewhere.

My laptop has windows vista btw so i dont even know if any of them would run

It would help if you listed what they were :p
