I checked my local one out and made out with a few titles. XIII and POPSOT big box for six bucks each. The software section was torn up and I had to dig for about twenty minutes to find them, but well worth the time if you ask me. Nice thread OP thanks.
A couple that aren't on your list are.....Deus Ex GOTY $3.99, Commandos 3 $3.99, and Gunman Chronicles $5.99.
Deus Ex is on the list (under Eidos 4-pack (Deus Ex,Thief II, Commandos 2, Tomb Raider Chronicles) - $3.99). Even though the box says GOTY edition, I don't state this because it doesn't come with anything that the stand-alone GOTY edition came with (soundtrack, etc.).

Commandos 3 is also on the list (under Commandos III - $3.99).

I've seen Gunman Chronicles at Big Lots before, don't recall how or why I haven't yet included it on the master list... Thanks for the heads up!

I just went to the neighboring county's Big Lots and made a NICE snag: MGS 2: Substance for $5.99. I picked up the only copy. The only other titles they had were Nightfire, Great Escape, Total Overdose, and some other no-name games.

New Finds Today:

Civilization III: $6
Psychonauts: $6
Advent Rising: $6

Didn't bother getting the latter two since I just got them for Xbox from KMart for $3 a peice. Unless there are some advantages to the PC verison? :/

Better graphics and framerates, granted you have the PC to do so....

Make sure you have either....
1. A PC gamepad or
2. you got an X360 pad to plug into your PC's USB slot

The graphics for Psychonauts PC are only a little better than the Xbox version, but the frame rate is much better (PS2 versions frame rate was terrible).

i just noticed this thread and since i'm a manager at Big Lots i figured i'd try and update you guys when i notice some new stuff come in.

It's always nice to have an insider on the forums. Thanks for the info.

P.S. If anyone finds Sniper Elite, let me know.

Picked up Bards Tale (PC) for $3.99. Not such a great find except.... it includes the original 3 Bards Tale games on the disc. That's pretty hot.

^I also saw Bards Tale, but someone picked it up before me. I guess I was already happy to find my first find. I picked up Shadow of Destiny for $4 at my local Big Lots. I never knew they carried games I would recognize, I also saw XIII, but that was awhile back and this time someone already picked that up.

Oooh, Shadow of Destiny was an excellent adventure game.

Thanks, gothamcentral. As others have noted, it's nice to get inside info. Would you by chance have some insight on the factors that determine what games get sent to which stores?

For example, I've seen a huge amount of variation at 5 stores locally. And some stores don't even have games. Some have them at the DVD/VHS kiosk up front, others in the electronics section...
Anyone find anything and/or score anything new and/or good at a Big Lots recently for PC games?
I apologize for not updating the OP since back in November... I also said a month ago that I would do an update; I've been lazy. I will get on it soon and report back the new finds.
If anyone finds Sniper Elite, let me know.
The Gogamer 24 hour madness sale a while back offered Sniper Elite for $6.90... just a tad more than Big Lots. :)

Don't worry about it, man. Whenever you get to it, you get to it. :)

When you do see some new finds, let us know! :)

I might go myself to the BL in my area, just to give it a look-see. :) Who knows, maybe I'll score Freedom Force vs. The 3rd Reich or something I been fiendin' for....

All the new games that were delivered, like city of villains etc. were at my store, but they only got in one of each.......

I ended up w/ bomberman collection, sniper elite, and city of villains...

On a side not does anyone know if ncsoft's accounts link, like one monthly fee to play auto assault and city of villains? I have a copy of each and have not activated either one, I was wondering if i used the free 30 days if it would work for both.

Went to my Big Lots for the first time in ages.

Prices as I remember (but don't hold me to 'em)

$4
Shadow of Destiny
Sniper Elite
Civ III
Atlantis Evoluntion
Psychonauts

$6
fat box of City of Villians with one month free

Those sound about right, but I think Pyschonauts and Civ III were $6 (I bought them). Shadow Of Destiny was $4.99 I think. Most, if not all, new games at Big Lots are $6. In the past, they would rage from $3-$6 with not many actually costing $6, but all "new" releases have been $6. Granted, some of the games are a great deal at $6, but I am cheap! :p

I also haven't seen anything new since the last batch of games. I also remembered another one which may or may not have been mentioned; Dark Age of Camelot: Gold Edition. A MMORPG so I wasn't interested, but its in a big box.
All I can say -- Psychonauts rocks.

If you don't got it, it's worth that kind of $$$....
I second this notion - I'm just now playing through Psychonauts (via Gogamer madness sale a few weeks back), and this game truly is worth your time. Excellent voice over work, great music, and highly stylized graphics, and a great story, it's all there.

In other news, I went to BL today and got lots of new finds (some of which other members have already mentioned). I'll do the update soon...

nope, i haven't found anyone who knows why some store gets stuff that others don't. there are 10 within a 30 minute radius of my store and i have to go to different stores all the time and whenever i check the games/dvd section at each store their is always something different there.

I got it a while back from Gogamer, when it was like $10.
Very nicccccccccce!

Wo0t!!!

Can't wait for the update!

I wonder what some of the new finds are...

At first I thought there was no rhyme or reason to what Big Lots gets, but my Big Lots got the exact same new games that gothamcentral listed a couple of weeks ago, which is also the same ones others like guinaevere have mentioned recently. Other Big Lots I have been to have really old stuff or stuff that is different, only for me to find out that it's stuff my "home" Big Lots is going to get in the future. So maybe the "batches" of new games are sent to different Big Lots at different times, but most end up getting the same stuff eventually. Very curious!
I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, but I found Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for $6.
Cool.

Just FYI Armed and Dangerous and Shadow of Destiny are at almost EVERY Five Below store for $5. Just in case you can't find it at Big Lots or don't have a Big Lots near you.

Master List updated (finally!). See OP for new game listings.

I've also noticted that Big Lots is now pricing their games at $X.00, instead of $X.99... So most new additions have the new pricing scheme...

Thanks again for all the member contributions!

Thanks for the suggestion. After striking out at a few Big Lots, I picked up a cheap copy for the Xbox today.

EDIT: An addendum. I finally found a copy for PC. Nuts!

I got Hoyle Casino 2006 for $6 and a Cribbage game (PC CD) for $1
[YMMV as it's not on this list, going to look for FF:3rd Reich next time around]

Actually got 2 of the casinos, one for my Dad one for myself.
Mostly for the Texas Hold'em addition but the video poker stuff is very good.

picked up massive assault $4.00 and they also had a tycoon game, I think it was Ultimate Tycoons which had railroad tycoon 2, airport tycoon 2?, and mall tycoon for $6.00
I picked up Advent Rising, Commandos Strike Force, and Vietcong all for 1 dollar each.
chodax - were each of these games priced at $1.00 at your Big Lots? That's very cheap... I haven't seen anything for a dollar before.

i got Half Life 1 Anthology... i saw City of Villains and nothing really other than that

and i dont mind picking it up for somebody if they want it, just PM me

Went to my local Big Lots hoping to score Serious Sam Gold, but left empty-handed. I did see a copy of Total Overdose, PM me if you want me to pick it up for you and it's yours for cost + shipping.

(In return, if somebody could score me Serious Sam Gold, I'd appreciate it. A trade would also work.)

I may go hit the other Big Lots in my area about 45 minutes away, haven't decided if I want to bother yet. There's a good mall out there, so I figure why not?

Just a reminder, your local Big Lots's are very likely to have SOMETHING, but not at all guaranteed to have what you are after.

And I still recommend a second look at Space Colony if your BL has it.

heads up to the film buffs the big lots i work at got a bunch of foreign dvds in today for $2. alot of really good stuff, i posted the list of what my store had over in the dvd deals forums if your interested.

anybody who doesn't have a big lots next to them and is interested in any of the dvds let me know and maybe we can work out a trade or something.

I went down this morning during my lunch break. I got...

Maximum Underworld (Max Payne/Mafia double pack)
Baldur's Gate II Collection
Sniper Elite
City of Villains
Pyschonauts

$6 each.

I'll check out some other nearby stores if it isn't storming tonight.

Went to my local Big Lots and snagged:

City of Villians
Civilization III
Zoo Tycoon
Roller Coaster Tycoon

all for $6.00 each

Not too shabby!

I picked up The Political Machine for $2.99 a couple weeks ago. It's really a pretty fun game for three bucks. The only problem is that I found a loophole that pretty much makes it impossible for me to lose, so there's really no challenge any more.
