Thought this was worthy of a new thread. Its back! And with a vengeance. As of this writing its at [see title]. Link

And for those that dont know, the amount of uses for this promotion seems to be doubling at a steady rate, now at 40 uses per account, and the maximum amount you can get back PER A SINGLE TRANSACTION was reduced from $250 to $200. The total culmulative cashback allowance is capped at $2,500.00 per calendar year.

How this works:

If you dont already know about this, its a very simple promotion offered by Microsoft in order to promote usage of their search engine live.com. All you have to do is go to www.live.com and search for something common, like "Wii" as in nintendo wii. In the Sponsored sites at the top you will see a link to Wii's on ebay with a small logo next to it that says Live Search Cash Back and below that "You may get xx% off paypal eligible". When you click on the cash back logo it takes you to ebay and BIN (Buy It Now) auctions for Wiis. From there you simply use the ebay search function to find the BIN auction for the item you desire and purchase it. When you click the BIN button prior to clicking on Commit to buy you should see a message below with the Cash Back you are eligible to recieve. Once you buy the auction pay for it with paypal and give it an hour. Eventually you'll get a message in your ebay account saying "You've earned cashback" simply click on it and follow the instructions. If you dont have one you'll be asked to create a live account. I believe most people will already have an existing live acct due to their Xbox, MSN, or Hotmail associations so feel free to use that if you like. This is quick, and thus far i havent gotten any spam due to it, nor have i read of anyone getting any spam. And thats it, 60 + 15 days later [they allow a buffer period incase you return what you bought] you can redeem the money.

So to summarize

1. use live.com search engine to find any product on ebay. Any keyword is as good as another, hence i used "wii" as an example.

2. Once activating the link use ebay.com to browse for the Buy It Now auction you desire and purchase and pay with paypal. Wait until you get a message from ebay and get your cash back with your live account. This can take a few hours.

3. ~75 days later its in your pocket. [60 days before you can redeem and then an additional 2 weeks before it actually transfers into your paypal account]

Again this is just a promotion by MS to promote use of their search engine, theres no catch. You dont have to promise your first born nor random legs or limbs. Its as simple as it sounds.

Some things to note

-This promotion is limited to only US residents.

-You must pay with paypal and it must be a BIN auction.

-It takes about 75 days to recieve the actual money which will be in the form of a FEE FREE deposit into your paypal account. From there you can spend it or transfer it into your checking or simply request a check.

-If you return the item you purchased and used the promotion on you LOSE the refund.

-This is only valid for Ebay user/store auctions on Ebay.com. No live auction or ebay motors etc.. Though i think you can get away with buying international auctions you're watching on ebay.com. I also noticed that this works if you're offered a "Second chance" on an item you bid on since it turns the auction into a BIN.

-You may only use this a maximum of 40 times per ebay account per person. A few people are reporting success using different ebay accounts with the same cashback account in order to achieve more than 20 uses. YMMV.

-Maximum of $200 back PER AUCTION [$2,500 Cap per account] and the percent savings does vary and can change without notice.

Rest of the terms are here:
http://pages.ebay.com/cashbackoffer/terms.html

I recommend at least skimming them. Enjoy.

Couple additions

"Instant" Cashback is now available. However, to quote "Instant cashback will be eligible for some, but not all users." Its unknown what the criteria is to be "eligible". I would not suggest you make a purchase unless you dont mind waiting.

Ebay/Paypal Coupons WILL stack with this. The amount is deducted off the full auction value. IE 10% Coupon applied to $100 purchase will save you $10. If the Cashback percent is 25% you will still get $25 additional back for a total savings of $35. Usually the Ebay/Paypal coupons have a maximum savings of $100 for a maximum total of $300 saved on any single purchase. This also stacks with other promotions run by Bigcrumb/ebates where you can earn some more money back based on an items selling fees.

Asus EEE PC 1000H $301
Antec Fusion PC Case 430W w/IR Sensor $150
Windows Vista Ultimate $122
ASUS P5Q-EM Intel LGA775 G45 / ICH10R Chip $111
HIS ATI Radeon 4850 $136
Intel E8500 $130

For those who have participated in previous Live Cashback promotions, do y'all know if the 6 (or is it 12 now?) uses are limited to that particular period only?

Like if I use them all up now, will they reset the count for me to cash in on this offer again next time round?

Anyone know if cashback works if I buy multiple items from a single seller with buy it now, have them send me an invoice with the reduced shipping cost and then pay with paypal?

Can anybody find me good deal on hdtv (primarily a tv for gaming) is 26 in- 32 inch for like less than 300?
I have lack of knowledge in hdtvs :(

Great deals to be found
It's actually 12 total transacations per account, not 6.
Thanks for the info. My wallet hates you for it.
I would imagine $200 total combined cash back is still in play though anyway.

I've had a great time with this deal
5 purchases so far.
I thought I'd have to decide between either Gears of War 2, or Little big planet.
I guess now I can go ahead and get both.
I am so thankful I was just offered 2.99% apr on credit card balance transfers.
I have the same problem with my laptop, but when I tried on my desktop it worked fine. I tried both IE and Firefox on my laptop, but still didn't work.
Anyone having problems with the cashback logo not showing up on ebay should try shutting of their anti-virus/internet protection software. I tried that and it worked.

It's back up to 30%? Wow shoulda checked earleir. How long has it been going on? Anyone know any good laptops that are not overpriced on here I could get? Thanks.

Is this 12 transactions true? Anyone have any luck with pre-orders? I'm gonna get Fallout 3 and Resistance 2 on release day. Should I pre-order them?

Heck Yeah!!!! I just used my 6th purchase, I'm glad they upped it. I could have used another ebay account, but only my main one is eligible for ebay rewards.

I was just on ebay and saw someone listed a 60gb PS3 for $250 I was checking out and then it was gone! Took less then 10 mins for it to sell! DANG!
Is this 12 transactions true?
Yes, its true. Updated the OP, thanks for the heads up.

I've seen a few people state this now so i've updated the OP with some slight clarification. Its $200 back PER TRANSACTION, not combined. The maximum you can get back per their user agreement is $2,500.00 per account [so says the terms anyway, if you do the math 12x$200=$2,400 maximum, not that it matters much]. I repeat, it is not an account cap of $200, thats just a maximum return of $200 per a single transaction/item/auction etc..

nice, just picked up a wii (w/mario kart, galaxy, 3 more games and 2 controllers) for 200 shipped.

BTW that bigcrums site has netted me an extra 25 back. So thanks to the OP, im giving you some money.

If anyone wants to link me up
http://www.bigcrumbs.com/crumbs/landing.do?r=edson13&s=33170
.. just remember go through livesearch first (get cashback icon) close window, then sign in through bigcrums, and buy whatever you wanted to buy. I usually just add items to my wish list to save me the hassle of refinding them.

Now the limit is 12!

This news is full of win. I recently used my 6th Cashback purchase and was kind of bummed but not anymore. :D

*watches his extended network expand*

I probably got like $2.50 for that stuff you bought, thanks! $10 total in referrals thanks to this ebay buying craze...enough for a cheap DS game or sumthin.

im actually visiting a friend overseas... i think my IP address prevents me from getting the 30% :(

does someone have a temp proxy server i could use to show myself as being in the USA?

I think it should work with pre-orders.
I just grabbed Little big planet. It says I'm getting back $17.40.
But I guess I can't be sure until it shows up on Live.com under "Pending".
even with the proxy i still get 20%... this sucks :(
dude stop spamming the thread. Try different keywords or clearing your browser's cookies.

my my a bit touchy are we?

anyways i tried a bunch of different keywords well before you gave that "golden" nugget of advice as well as clearing my cache and cookies, i did manage to get it working

here is what i suggest for any of you having trouble:

1. type "nintendo ds" and hit refresh multiple times
2. type "collectibles" and hit refresh multiple times
3. try to access live.com directly and search each time from there (it just so happened that it came up for me)

xbox wifi 70 dollars + free shipping - 30% = 51 dollars!

now, i can return this 15 dollar ethernet cord back to amazon....so really i'm only paying 36 dollars to finally connect up my 360!

oh yea, overall....

135 spent, 40 coming back. 95 dollars for tiger woods, bioshock, and a wifi doesn't seem too bad.....
woah wait i just bought a exhaust for my lancer, it was 500ish will i still get my rebate?
Not if it wasn't through the link and before they extended the amount(If you used the 6 already)

Maybe not?:
Cashback Rewards will apply only to the first eligible item you commit to buy on www.eBay.com during an Online Session. Cashback Rewards will not be applied to any additional items or purchases. A single listing with multiple items will be considered one item for the purposes of these terms and conditions. The following purchases on www.eBay.com are not eligible for Cashback Rewards ("Excluded eBay Purchases"):

purchases that are completed on www.express.ebay.com or www.half.ebay.com;
purchases of automobiles or other vehicles;
purchases of real estate;
purchases that are completed using a third party checkout system.
Might want to contact them.
12 transactions now? i think its time to do all my christmas shopping right now. 1/3 off chrismas FTW.
I'm thinking the same thing.

It implies the purchases of automobiles themselves, i.e. buying a car.

My first cashback purchase was a set of Tein Basic coilovers and I got the cashback from them.

Yup, I got a knob (already cashed in) and a lip (in my account, waiting for 5x more days) without any problems.

Hmm... I've been familiar with the cash back system since it was owned by jellyfish.com, but I was unaware that it gave 30% off ebay.

I think I'll use it so my girlfriend can get that XBox 360 elite holiday bundle. Comes out $50 cheaper than the Dell deal.
We absolutely DO NOT need a new thread for every single Cashback deal that can be had via Ebay.
Yeah, for sure.

I think it'd be a good idea to post any deals you guys have been able to get in here.

If you go like two pages back, I linked to an eBay seller selling Fallout 3 a dollar or two below MSRP with cheap shipping. Add in the 30% cash back and it's hell of a nice deal.
