A: Friday, 11/23/18

Q: When are ads going to come out?
A: No one knows but here is a prediction list based on release / leaks in the last few years to give you an idea of possible release dates.

Q: When are stores open?
A: Look above for store times located next to store ads.

Q: Can I price match on Black Friday?
A: Price Matching differs from store to store. Here is the list of stores with if they PM or not on BF. You can also go here for further explanation on BF policy per store.

Q: Does Best Buy's GCU stack with Black Friday items?
A: No. GCU does not stacked with Black Friday items. Best Buy does have early Black Friday sales if you are an Elite / Elite Plus member. Sometimes it has shown to work within the early minutes of those early BF deals popping up. But it's YMMV.

Q: Does GameStop's Elite and Elite Pro stack with Black Friday items?
A: Yes but only for used items that will be in the ad.

My yearly spreadsheet is now being worked on. This doesn't have much on it, yet, but I will post when I have completed a store set. There is also the change log tab to see what my current activity regarding the sheet is.

As a "lessons learned" from last year, I will be putting the spreadsheet into a drop box link for those who want to export it to their program of choice, when it comes closer to Black Friday.

As always, I will be the one controlling the sheet, so if you see something incorrect, please message me on here! I will get to your message as soon as I can!

The sheet, like last year's, will NOT contain Amazon deals. This is due to Amazon time gating prices behind lightning deals.

Excuse the dumb question, but are the digital games on the BF special buys?

I've only ever bought physical copies for my kids. Now we have 2 Xbox ones and 1 gold account. I think if I get digital copies they can use the shared Xbox live account to play live co-op games.

Could have left it at Amazon sucks ass as the reason and been fine. ;)

 
How's the online in-stock of the xboneS  at Kohls?

When do they start their bf sales in the mountain time zone? I mean, est, pac and central are listed. Why not mountain.

 
Looks like I am picking up the slim PS4 Spider-Man bundle this year. I just sold my og ps4 and Spider-Man for $250 :)

A Switch bundle. Either $299 with a choice of game (either Pokemon Let's Go (if it's a let people pick in general) or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (if it's a pick from a selection of games)) or $299 with a $30 coupon towards the next sale, so I can try to come in and use Santa Bucks on top of it and get a bit more money off on a game. Ideally, I wish it could be both for a game and get some money off on a future purchase.

And then hoping for some good movie and game sales, in part for myself and partially for a Secret Santa event I'm taking part in.

Switch was $270 just yesterday, which is basically your $30 scenario.

This is pretty much the same for me, except I already got PS4 Pro.

DQ11 I skipped because it was just too massive and right before Spider-Man. DQ11 will be for backlog; maybe December game. SC6 is a discount game, also in backlog.

Looking forward to HITMAN 2 but not anytime soon (want to complete RDR2 fully beforehand and willing to wait for a sale). No way it'll be discounted in two weeks on Black Friday, though.

Funny thing is, if we hope that the game does terrible in sales, it'll drop in price faster, lol. I think it'll review well though, but will just be overwhelmed still by RDR2, and the online that is opening soon.

I don't really care for AC Odyssey anymore. Hype was high when it was released, but I played the opening bit via Google's streaming, and deemed it not worth my time. Hype for that game took a massive nosedive, and I probably won't even buy it at $25 to add to my backlog, considering the major games releasing early next year.

There's just not enough time for all these games. First world problem.

Which is great for people who shop online. I only do so via gift card for the most part. I generally make bigger purchases in store. (Don't get me wrong, I'd buy it online... but I'm not totally sure of the quality.)

is it just habit to say an ad "leaks"? maybe im just cynical but these ads are so corporate controlled now its nauseating. i mean, it used to be an ad leak meant some obscure site had a horrible ad scan that you had to zoom in and squint to barely read, now we say it leaked when its on the companys website, released by said company itself. /oldmanrant

Haha I know what you mean. Now they are just officially released. Around 15 years ago I worked for Target and they were dead serious on not letting you take a Black Friday ad. Let alone look at it. Times have changed.

What do you mean you're unsure of the quality? These are brand new from an authorized well known reseller - Newegg. They are just selling it on Ebay instead of directly at their own site.

 
I'm hoping for a Switch deal/bundle.  The MK8 bundle that Target has isn't bad, but not ideal since I already have MK8 on Wii U.

While it may be futile, I'm hoping for something good on Amazon, since I've got some $70+ worth of rewards points to burn.

Xbox One S non Minecraft bundle and a low ranage 4k tv but I'll just accept the console if tv prices don't fit my budget.

And Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Gears of War 1 & 2, older Halo games and the OG Battlefront games for Xbox.

GoW, Detroit for $20 or less

Mario & Rabbids for $20 or less

Other cheap PS4/Switch games I'll just pick up cause whatever

Mainly PS4 exclusives. God of War, Bloodborne, The Last Guardian, Nioh, Persona 5. I probably won't get all of those it just depends on price. I also wouldn't mind picking up some Switch exclusives like Kirby, Captain Toad, or Hyrule Warriors.

Yep, it used to be much more exciting. I remember not seeing the ads until they showed up in the newspaper lol. Then scans would get leaked online and that was awesome. The anticipation was pretty great. Now, all of the ads are just posted online by the actual stores. More efficient I guess but not as exciting.

May I suggest a TCL for your 4K TV. I own three TVs; one high-end Samsung, one high-end Sony and a cheap TCL. The TCL is hands down my favorite to use and the picture is A+ at a fraction of the cost.

Of course, Roku will be pilfering your data and dealing it to advertisers, but Samsung and Sony do the same thing.
