A: No one knows but here is a prediction list based on release / leaks in the last few years to give you an idea of possible release dates.

Q: When are stores open?
A: Look above for store times located next to store ads.

Q: Can I price match on Black Friday?
A: Price Matching differs from store to store. Here is the list of stores with if they PM or not on BF. You can also go here for further explanation on BF policy per store.

Q: Does Best Buy's GCU stack with Black Friday items?
A: No. GCU does not stacked with Black Friday items. Best Buy does have early Black Friday sales if you are an Elite / Elite Plus member. Sometimes it has shown to work within the early minutes of those early BF deals popping up. But it's YMMV.

Q: Does GameStop's Elite and Elite Pro stack with Black Friday items?
A: Yes but only for used items that will be in the ad.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see the leap from the One X to the next XBOX console being huge. I assume it won't be 8K, and even if it was, I can't see 8K TV's being in full demand in 2020. Sure, it'll be a smoother FPS experience but will it be a significant enough difference from the X? The One X is awesome now and will likely still be awesome when the next X Console hits. I guess it comes down to how important it is on an individual basis to have the One X technology advantage now as opposed to later, and whether you have the $. 8K TVs? We will still be waiting for many television programs to broadcast in true 1080p in 2020 and likely none will be in 4K, much less 8K gaming on xbox 2. Well be lucky just to have 5G mobile in 2/3 of the country by then

We can't even get proper 1080P/60FPS in this generation without sacrifices so we'll be lucky if that is even standard come next-gen. Most developers aren't skilled enough technically or financially to take full advantage of a system's capabilities so we end up with a mountain of endless indie retro games.

Television technology improves but 8K as a standard format is 10 years away if it even reaches mass market integration. We won't be seeing it in consoles for a long time. As for cell service there are a vast majority of places in the country that either have no towers or nowhere near 4G at this point. 5G would be a miracle.

I called like 4 stores everyone gave me the same BS answer about the system, and finally one said they can honor the app just make sure to bring in the estimate. Got 200 on the spot. I hear you with the pro, but the way I have been looking at it, I’ve had no issues with the day one PS4 so this side-Grade is fine for me until the 5 drops. 13 bucks for spidey and 500 more gigs can’t beat it.

Glad it worked out for you. I will have a hard time not wanting to unbox the system when I pick it up but I want to see if Black Friday has any other incentives where I might need to bring it back as a rebuy. Unlikely but you never know.

I love your enthusiasm on 5G, but 2/3 of the country having it in two years isn’t realistic. It’s just finally rolling out in a few select cities now.

Launch titles that aren’t really next gen will probably hit 4k60fps (just like ac black flag was 1080/60 on ps4), but they will not put a good enough cpu to maintain 60 fps on any true next gen AAA games besides sports, sim racing, and call of duty. Anything striving for higher graphical fidelity will be locked at 30 fps.

As an aside, I’d like them to offer “pro” models of the consoles at launch at a higher price that are designed for 4k/60 for those willing to pay for a “consolized” gaming rig.
 
Quick question on the last page of the Walmart ad it has a pic of the Arcade1up Pac-Man cabinet for $250 and it says “ Pac-Man or Galaga arcade machines. Additional arcade machines available in select stores.” Does that mean all the Arcade1up cans are $250 depending what is available at your store?

They typically match a lot of the prices other retailers have. I'd expect to see stuff like Evil Within for $15-20 and newer releases like Assassin's Creed Odyssey at $30-$35. Amazon has a nice advantage over the B&M retailers in that they offer no lines or waiting so they really don't need to undercut the competition and it results in meh deals usually.

 
Last night, I spent the evening laughing at Slickdeals posts about shoppers being denied when they tried to purchase the Minecraft 1 TB Xbox One bundle S in store. Hilarious!

Kohl's is the master of deception when it comes to their "cash" because it reduces the price of an item before discounts. To be clear, any discounts that come after are taken off the new principle which means you can typically value the cash at 40-50% less than face value. That and they give you a short window of when it is allowed to be used and during that time they jack up most prices to accommodate. Not saying there isn't a deal to be had there but I'd caution anyone thinking about using it, probably best to research things ahead of time to see just how much of a 'deal' you're actually getting.

Correct, which is why I only use KC on an item that's on clearance or on sale. Those additional % off don't do much after you take KC off the sale/original price first. So KC can be useful if you approach it correctly knowing these caveats.

And make sure to either spoof your GPS to a Kohl's store or be at a location when trying to get free shipping. Trying to meet the demands of free shipping on orders over X is extremely painful whenever using your discounts.

Really appreciate the post! I need some new work shirts so I was thinking about taking advantage of this. Thought the math would be $400-120-$100(sell my xbox), but sounds like it may not quite be that simple.

Ugh amazon says 7 days of deals. I fucking hate the way Amazon does deals. I never see them. I can't be sitting around all day refreshing and looking for deals. All their deals are usually garbage anyway.

I seen that too, and that's the way I understand it. There is a youtube video where a guy says it doesn't include the other machines. I asked and he said he had already confirmed it, though he doesn't mention how. I figure I'll be at Wal-mart BF sale anyway I'll check that night.

 
Finally. Was hoping to see who was playing chicken with the 399 xbox one x price. Now I can get it from BB. Maybe GS might throw in a game at that price but doubt it. That would make it even better.

so basically if I buy the 1tb Spider-Man bundle I should receive $60 kohl’s cash right? Means that I will be able to use those $60 towards a new purchase that can include video games also.

 
How often do the bigger cash amounts, 12 month gold or year of game pass get discounts on microsoft rewards?

The $5 microsoft money and 1 month are currently 30% off. Seems like good deals.

Only catch with Kohl's Cash is you have a certain time period you have to use it in, think its like 1-2 weeks. Should be able to use it towards anything Kohl's sells.

The catch is its only good for like a week after you get it, its only good for week or so, and during that time there isn't many sales. My mom falls for it every year and i can get things like a shitty $30 belt or $20 package of socks with it. Can get the same elsewhere for easily half that. Saying that, I'd rather get the the PS4 there with the socks and a pair of jeans then just the ps4 at walmart.

Really bumming me out because I want a Pro but I'm not sure it's worth double the new price on the Slim PS4. (More than double 'cause you can get slim for even less than $199 with coupons, Kohl's Cash, Red Card, etc.)

Someone was talking about trying to use the Target 20% off future purchase coupon but I'm pretty sure gaming hardware is excluded.

 
Did a bit of shopping via Meijers and lucked out and got a Switch with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Luckily this week's sale is very similar to the Black Friday one and it let me just avoid the crowd trying to get one then. Can just focus on Black Friday for smaller stuff then.

You live anywhere near a Meijers? They tend to have Santa Bucks right after the Thanksgiving sale. You can save around $20 for things over $99 (iirc). ( Was able to buy games with it (the Santa Bucks), as they consider anything like that to be general merchandise.)

Went to my local BB to check out the PSVR stock in anticipation for next week. They had all the PSVR bundles and Red Dead PS4 Pro bundles locked up in the back. I imagine they are saving units for BF.

Based on past experiences, anyone have an idea if they’ll sell me a PSVR on Sunday?
(My hope is to price match with GameStop)

From what I remember no early access stuff is available in store. Might be different this year though since every year they try to push black Friday further ahead of friday.
