A: No one knows but here is a prediction list based on release / leaks in the last few years to give you an idea of possible release dates.

Q: When are stores open?
A: Look above for store times located next to store ads.

Q: Can I price match on Black Friday?
A: Price Matching differs from store to store. Here is the list of stores with if they PM or not on BF. You can also go here for further explanation on BF policy per store.

Q: Does Best Buy's GCU stack with Black Friday items?
A: No. GCU does not stacked with Black Friday items. Best Buy does have early Black Friday sales if you are an Elite / Elite Plus member. Sometimes it has shown to work within the early minutes of those early BF deals popping up. But it's YMMV.

Q: Does GameStop's Elite and Elite Pro stack with Black Friday items?
A: Yes but only for used items that will be in the ad.

Same. Have a PC copy sitting right here next to me and won't open it unless there's a deal. Just don't have time for it right now, especially with a Switch on the way.

Part of me wonders if Cyber Monday might not be super-disappointing this year. Amazon has had a pretty subdued week so far; they might be going all out. It'd be nice. And Monday is a tiny bit further away from release day, so it is more likely to get a discount then than now.

I'm kind of hoping that PSVR sales happen again throughout the end of the year because I'm reading some really positive things about Astro Bot today. I just can't drop $199 on a VR set without ever having tried VR before. I'm tempted to post on a local community Facebook page and just be like "Does anyone own a VR headset that I could just test out for like 60 seconds or so to see how it works for me?" Can't believe no one I know has any kind of headset...


It's noon here and prime eating time for most. I had to run my mother-in-law to work really quick and saw that Walmart is absolutely slammed right now. Seeing that prices are live in store makes stopping in tempting but it seems like everyone in town subscribed to a deal site got the memo too.
Saw that Golden Corral is slammed too. I guess some people don't feel like messing around with cooking at all, lol.

wanted Assassin's creed the ezio collection but bestbuy showing in store only and i am not about to go stand in no checkout lines.  Bestbuy has done very poorly they put these games on sale than within 15 seconds sold out while other retailer selling at same prices have plenty in stock 

 
The Best Buy site has been god-awful for me this year. Doesn't matter if I'm on my phone or my laptop - whenever I go to their games, trying to go to the next page never works. The page number changes, and it zips back to the top, but the games are the same as the first page. Absolute trash.

i agree i guess they don't want our money. Than they wonder why online retailers are beating them so badly. Bestbuy has been the worst for blackfriday video games deals so far this year

 
Can't agree about Best Buy. Site has been rock solid for me and most of my Black Friday deals have been from best buy for movies and games. A majority of the items here been listed up for quite awhile before selling out. They went live last night. Most of my issues have been with Walmart, but nothing that prevented me from getting what I wanted.

Do y'all think Pokken DX will drop lower than $35 with tax for a new copy in the next year?

I never saw the Wii U copy lower than that without buy 2-get 1, but that doesn't mean much I guess.

 
Guess I'm done with game buying for the rest of the year. I'll post my haul when I have a chance to sit down and inventory what I added to my backlog...

The prices (with a few exceptions) have been ringing up all day for years. Last year, they began removing sale merchandise from the floor, making it physically unavailable until the official start time.

I tried to order something last night and didn't make it far enough to determine that the site wasn't working well-enough. The help desk at work had my computer for maintenance and I was using a computer I'd never logged in from. Best Buy recognized I was logging in from an unrecognized source and wanted to text me, but I can't have a phone in the building I work in (secure facility) so I don't bring it. Couldn't log in at all.

Sounds like Best Buy's site has been pretty abysmal this year from some of the horror stories though. I'm used to the kind of stuff you describe happening on some of the board game retailer sites I buy from any time they have a sale, because they are relatively small-scale operations compared to Best Buy. I'd expect more from a company as big as Best Buy.

It might, but I haven't seen any first-party titles drop below $35 without exploitative shenanigans, like price matching on errors, or stacking percent-offs. That said, if you're not planning on playing it until this time next year, then you might as well wait. It might be cheaper, and if not, will likely at least be that price again somewhere.

 
How is Shining Resonance Refrain? Saw a few of you snagged it at $25. 

I have quite a few JRPGs in my backlog, so I probably don't need it unless it's phenomenal.

I found it pretty lackluster. The story is told mostly through visual novel style scenes which I don't care for and the gameplay isn't fun enough to compensate.

it feels like they have gone out of heir way to make bestbuy.com shopping more difficult

 
Just headed to Walmart to grab the couple of 4K discs I was waiting for online. Forgot that buying discs from Walmart adds digital copies to Vudu automatically, so hopefully I can get some back from the digital copies included in the cases.
 
Me too I just came from Wal-Mart and got the last 4k movies. I think I'm done with games and movies and the only thing left is buying clothes.
 
Just came back from Walmart and got Diablo 3 Switch for 17. Brickseek said it had none, so the numbers are wrong. You just got to go and risk it.

Doom for Switch is also ringing up for 12 if anyone wants it.

 
You guys have scared the crap out of me with your GameStop.com horror stories. Looks like I'll be going to the store in a couple of hours. I don't know what I'd do if I encountered an error with my gift cards.
 
Well the only thing game wise I need to pickup now is AC: Odyssey at GS and a couple of movies from Bestbuy then I’m done entertainment wise.

I’ve spent too much money this Black Friday but it was mostly on things for my house that needed to be replaced so I didn’t have as much to spend entertainment.

There's a demo available on every console. Fairly generic action jrpg. You can pass if you have others to play. I got it for the art (Tony Taka), action combat (not a fan of turn-based), dating aspects (find it fun although admittedly unnecessary), all dlc included, and launch edition case.

Still kind of wanting to go to Gamestop when they open in the next hour, I guess, but I just put a ham in the oven and need to start on a corn pudding soon. I think I'll just pull the trigger on the stuff I want online. It won't be here this weekend when the PS4 gets here but I've got enough to play already. I'm super-excited to jump into the copy of Yakuza 0 that I ordered earlier anyway.

Anyone having orders canceled from bb? I keep trying to order ps plus and get the error about unable to verify my info. I tried by itself and with other items but all cancel within minutes
 
Just got back from WM getting :switch: Diablo 3 for $17. Price is stickered $60 on the shelf, and they only had three copies. This is my third time buying D3 ^^;

I saw :switch: Doom was $12 at WM as well. I just picked up Wolfenstein II. Guess I'll make a trip back...
